Hubby and I came in for a bowl of pho and left not only satisfied by the luxuriously brothy soup , but also got to see a side of Sawmill after hours. It was homecoming night the evening we went and other than a few closed up locations, there were lots of people and plenty of seating. After getting our soup from the nice man at the counter, we sat down near the patio entrance people watching and planning our next visit to Sawmill. I was also pleased that the restrooms were clean given the number of people inside the building. 5/5 will return!

Kulantro is one of my favorites in Sawmill. The veggie noodle bowl is fresh and really tasty, with good fried tofu. I've also enjoyed the spring rolls. The peanut sauce and teriyaki style sauce are good. They give a big portion too. The one downside is they seem to run out of things fairly often.

Roadtrip through 8 states and we landed at the #SawMillMarket. Many eateries to choose from and I saw a special for their #NoodleBowl. The shrimp skewers and cut up egg roll in the bowl intrigued me. The bowl was very delicious and the lettuce, cucumbers, and other veggies were very fresh. I hope I find a similar dish in SoCal. Service was as good as it gets as there was a line but the server was friendly and moved as quickly as he could.

Kulantro is the best dining spot at Sawmill Market, hands down! With the longest lines in Sawmill Market, most exciting buzz and great presentation, Kulantro is a big winner. Sawmill Market is a unique dining destination in Albuquerque with several choices from salads, Asian fusion, tacos, pasta, pizza, draft beers and desserts for all. It is packed with families, ball teams, date nighters and out of town business people looking for great food. We ordered from the small stall that hosted Kulantro, an Asian fusion hot-spot. The presentation of their food is over-the-top and a great variety with only six selections. We started off with the grilled shrimp spring rolls. Two huge fresh hand made rolls stuffed with noodles, herbs and grilled shrimp, amazing and great peanut sauce. The grilled pork bao sliders were delicious on the pillowy bao rolls. The noodle bowl with chicken skewers and grilled shrimp finished off our evening. The flavors, quality meals, sauces and proteins you select here are spot-on. They excel with great pride in food presentation. These combinations coupled with quality ingredients and home made fesh meals unfortunately now reminds me that Sawmill Market is only Kulantro. I feel that this is the best Asian fusion in all of Albuquerque. All of comes from an 8' by 8' food stall. The owner and staff should be proud of their hard work and delicious product.

This is one of many restaurants located inside the Sawmill Market in Albuquerque, NM. We have been to this market before and love the ambiance and vibe in here. I walked around to the different vendors before deciding what to get. I had remembered this place on our last visit. It was mobbed then and I decided to wait for our next visit. I was about to order a bao or two when the summer special caught my eye. Vermicelli noodles, with carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, peanuts and 3 veggie egg rolls. It came with a chili fish sauce. Perfect. The order was made fresh and only took a few minutes. Everything in the bowl was fresh and tasty. The egg rolls were delicious! The sauce was sweet and tangy. Shared parking lot and free WiFi.

Winter special: noodle bowl with shrimp, egg roll and pork

Well well well. What did we have here? Had the chance to try Kulantro at Sawmill Market and was not disappointed! There are so many things to try at Sawmill but the moment I spotted their winter noodle dish, I knew I had to have it. I am a sucker for a good Vietnamese noodle bowl and this was DELISH. Classic noodles with fresh and pickled veggies, but then on top was a crispy egg roll, grilled pork and giant grilled shrimp. OMG, the pork and shrimp were incredible! Both had that sort of kick you get with a good sear, and paired perfectly with everything else in the bowl. Plus the fish sauce sauce on top - get in my belly! Plus I felt good about eating it - it felt pretty healthy

The ladies running it when I stopped by were so nice and the food was excellent! One of my shrimps was a bit on the raw side but the other and the rest of the food was fine. I think it was a bad error but all the food is delicious and service was great and I would still go back anytime!

This was soooo good. As always, it's Sawmill pricing and somewhat pricey for the amount you get but still on the much cheaper side in the food hall. Broth had a lot of flavor and the meat was tender. I enjoyed it very much. The staff was helpful as well!

The food is super good! The workers were Amazing!! This place is such a vibe!!!! Didn't take long to get my food! I'll for sure be back!!

My husband and I came into the Sawmill market not expecting to find a Vietnamese place. Let alone such a great Vietnamese place. My husband is Vietnamese and we have eaten tons of traditional and delicious Vietnamese food. This surpassed our expectations! Delicious with authentic foods and tastes. So glad they gave legit fish sauce as well! It is a little pricey but absolutely worth it.

The cold cuts were flavorful, the bread was fresh, and the meat to bread ratio was just right since I like more meat than bread. This is an excellent option for a quick lunch, but I would recommend staying to eat if you can. The decor is simple, the space is clean, and there are a few tables available. It does get busy during the lunch rush, but the line moves quickly and is well worth the wait. While the banh mi definitely steals the show, there are plenty of other options on the menu. Their banh cuon, thin rice noodles filled with ground pork and wood ear mushrooms, was good, though still second to the sandwiches. They also offer pate chau, a flaky puff pastry filled with pork pate, including a New Mexico style version with chicken and green chile. They have a variety of Vietnamese desserts like che, which I did not get a chance to try this time. My coworker loved their traditional Vietnamese hot coffee. I do not drink coffee, but I did enjoy one of their smoothies, which was refreshing and delicious. Overall, CODA Bakery is a go to spot for authentic Vietnamese flavors and one of the best places in Albuquerque for banh mi.

It's not down to an agreed list of two or three. When you open up the question, you get a dozen or more answers. That situation can mean many or all of several things: (1) Maybe Albuquerque really is VN food heaven; (2) Maybe there is no consensus on what constitutes really good VN food; or (3) Maybe most people pick the first VN restaurant they like and stick with it. I did #3 for years, sticking with Vietnam 200 and Viet Taste. Well, things change -- great restaurants slip and deliver mediocre experiences. Or we just get tired of same old, same old, and want to look around. I began looking around with a trip to Saigon City, an old restaurant in a slick new location in the same strip with Pars Middle Eastern restaurant in 25 Way. I went last night with my daughter and son-in-law, both experienced eaters. I previewed their menu on their website (a good thing when faced with a huge menu). I selected three items I wanted to try. Leaving the Pho for a later trip, I chose to begin with the green mussels stir fried and dished up with spicy veggie bits. There were six on the plate. I had to move quickly to get two of them. What a treat! I could make a meal of a plate of six of these. Next, I went for B3, the code for grilled chicken and veggies over vermicelli noodles with chili sauce. I like my food spicy. After the mussels, my hopes were up. Well, B3 was a very tasty dish. I would order it again anytime. Fresh, fresh, fresh. But pretty mild in the spice category. The chicken was nicely spiced, and there were red flakes in the vermicelli noodles, but not nearly enough of them. I tried my daughter's pork and vermicelli and thought it a bit better. We finished the meal with sicky rice & mango. The menu offers only sticky rice and banana, which is itself a very nice dessert, but our server mentioned that we could have mango instead for slightly higher charge. Since sticky rice with mango in coconut sauce is one of the five greatest desserts in the world, I went for it with gusto. This dish was the only slight stumble in the meal. I thought the rice was a bit underdone and the sauce not too thrilling. Not bad, but not at the standard set by the other dishes. I look forward to returning soon to try the pho. The service was very good, very friendly, and very helpful. I recommend sitting near the front of the restaurant and away from the service area where the staff conduct loud conversations among themselves. The interior of the restaurant is very nicely decorated and lighted. I was very comfortable eating at this fine restaurant.

We stopped by early this Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised that they have expanded the menu from mainly banh mi. The now have Pho and rice noodle dishes. B5 combo is a solid can't go wrong choice. All the protein was cooked well and seasoned nicely. Egg roll was good. Fish sauce is going to be the grey area because thats always personal preference, it was good, but would say more on the fishy side, which my fiance liked. Im used to my moms sauce which is more on the sweeter side. I also got an Vietnamese iced coffee and I will say it is probably the best Vietnamese ice coffee that I've had in thr ABQ area. Its was strong and nice and smooth. It wasn't too sweet. The reason why I say this is the best iced Vietnamese cofee I've had in ABQ is because other places, the Vietnamese coffee is bitter or its not balanced enough with flavor. At over $8 for a cup, it's pricey but if i need a Vietnamese coffee fix, this will be a good to spot.
