My daughters favorite pivotal from our week long trip to Denver/ Albuquerque was the shrimp told. For the grilled chicken bowl. The chicken was grilled right and was delicious. Too much rice noodles. I could have asked for more veggies than noodles. If you are exploring at the Sawmill location then they will be ready aloud 11am though Sawmill opens at 8. It was worth waiting. read more

Oh Kulantro, you were my last hope for flavor after the insipid blandness of Salty Catch and Red & Green. But alas, my quest ended flat. Customer service is so good! I loved how talkative and friendly these people were. Prices were a bit high but it's sawmill market so it's expected. I got the noodle bowl with pork and that portion size and the sauce just paired so well together! I devoured the food. Went back for a 2nd go today and tried the spring rolls and a pork skewer. The springs are the biggest that I have ever ate and are a steal for the price. The rolls tasted fresh, made to order and the peanut sauce was perfectly balanced. The skewer was also super fresh, made to order and loved the fresh grilled marks and flavor. Wasn't expecting much for this place as I find most of the eateries in sawmill waaaaay over priced. As these kinds of places become more frequented by people who've never balanced a checkbook or just living yolo my family and I decided to give it a shot... mainly bc I didn't want to drive 20mins for better priced pho... but I must say it was on point. I'm not a fan of too sweet of a pho broth and find their broth perfect for me. Although they don't offer a combo bowl with all really yummy meats (tripe and fatty flank) the quality was better then expected. Spring rolls pricey but about the size of a breakfast burrito at a (New) Mexican joint. Overall willing to try other items on their me menu once I work another overtime shift to justify the ridiculous prices at sawmill. read more

Had a really great noodle bowl here. All the veggies were fresh and the fish sauce on the side added such depth to the whole bowl. I would highly recommend getting the pork which was tender, flavorful, and had a nice char. I thought the egg rolls included in the bowl were bomb! Could've eaten my weight in them! Always my go to spot when I visit Saw Mill. The vermicelli bowl with shrimp is always fantastic. The shrimp have this awesome chargrilled flavor and they are always cooked to perfection. The fish sauce was lacking in flavor this last visit, but I'm going to conclude that was a "one off" as everything is typically on point every other visit. Service is always fast and courteous. I saw another review mention they thought it was overpriced. Perhaps it is, but it also can't be cheap renting a spot in Sawmill, so I understand why the prices are on the higher end for Vietnamese. read more

I can only speak on the spring rolls. Got them one day and they were decent. Next day, I thought I'd have them again - bad idea! These spring rolls are a meager attempt at this Asian delicacy. They are typically made with herbs like mint but Kulantro only uses 3 ingredients: white vermicelli noodles, salad lettuce, & a protein. I took shrimp. The 2nd time getting these rolls I saw two small hairs...like an eyelash hair. But I thought, no matter. Persevere. Where the spring rolls truly failed - aside from not having any mint and so few ingredients-was in the soggy, starchy noodles. The noodles were full of them and just yucky. After I pulled most of the noodles were out (fingers full of starch), I was left with lettuce and a few thin slices of shrimp. Disappointed. I can make them better at home. read more

I've been going to Sawmill Market almost every Friday,Saturday for dinner and at times even Sunday for lunch. My favorite to-go-to is the Kulantro -because I love Pho soup. I also like the special Kulantro noodles- which has additional egg roll, skewered shrimps and I like grilled pork as my protein. The people around me usually say "that look good "and ask where I got it, and they say that they will try it next time. I've become a regular customer there and have known the friendly employees and the lady owner. The pho was a little too salty for me and not much other flavors. The spring roll was also ok their fish sauce could've made it better but it's was bland. We also got egg rolls n that was good. I did like how we were able to get our food in less than 10 mins. Considering how busy they were when we was there. Oh we also got their meat skewers and that was ok. read more

I believe that people who regularly go to trendy, overpriced eateries, do not have the wherewithal to give an honest review. They got suckered into expensive, lousy food, so of course they would love it!. At this place (chosen by others in my party) for my $8 or so, I got previously frozen, tasteless pieces of chicken on a skewer, so dry and overcooked to a blackened char on one end, that it kept sticking in my throat. I also got 3 bites of salad from a bag. I'm not afraid to say it, I would rather have eaten KPF. read more

I just ate the most disappointing spring roll of my life. It was advertised as having spring vegetables. Sounded so fresh and delicious. It was mostly rice noodles and bland tofu. Also had lettuce (maybe some mint?). Completely bland to look at and taste. The sauce that came with it was pretty good, but I threw most of it away because I was choking on the rice noodles/paper. I've experienced this before in Europe, where some ingredients aren't available locally or they are afraid to insult local tastes. But Albuquerque has a significant Vietnamese population, great local supply of everything. There are so many good Vietnamese restaurants in Albuquerque, but this is not one of them. I called to place an order through "Bamboo by Kulantro" with a very friendly staff member. He was just as friendly when I picked up my takeout on November 25, 2025. My "takeaway" entree was the Bamboo Bowl ($18.12 with a card). It entailed "vermicelli noodles, spring mix, crispy garnish, peanuts, house sauce, crispy egg roll cut up into pieces, two grilled shrimp, and my choice of protein: grilled beef. While there was an enormous amount of vermicelli noodles which I could not finish, the rest of the entree had great portions of the rest. My dog even enjoyed much of the beef I offered her. (I washed the spice off.) If you have gluten, peanut allergy, vegan preferences, etc. - those requests can be honored. Inside, the restaurant was no frills, but a mostly quiet, clean environment. Pho was delicious, flavorful, great pho taste. Good portions and they give you plenty of meat. The accompaniments were fresh. Service is good, a bit slow but it's ok might just have limited workers. Ambiance is nice, clean, and lots of tables and seats. Definitely recommend if you like Vietnamese cuisine.
