Great burger place in fountain square area! I went there for lunch, and selected the Motörhead lunch burger. It's a Greek themed burger. So good! The goat cheese was a great add and the olives pushed that burger over the edge. The lunch portion was the perfect size. I opted for the homemade chips.. again, delicious and simple. Loved the atmosphere when we walked in and the staff were so friendly. The draft list gives you an option for a full pint or half. The half is the right size for wanting something but not a lot. Kuma's is the perfect burger joint for Fountain Square. This heavy metal bar is like nothing I've ever walked into before. Their burgers are bar none some of the best I've ever had. The ABSU and Goatsnake are nothing short of complete tastebud satisfaction. The beer list is also incredible, always filled with hard to local craft brews on tap and in the bottle, like Zombie Dust to name drop one. If you're not feeling the heavy music vibe, don't let that deter you from coming in. They have a great outside patio and they are pet friendly! What an Amazing Place! Granted I'm a big fan of the original Kuma's Corner location in Chicago, so take this review however you want. Every time I visit Chicago I happily wait several hours for a table at the original Kuma's (regardless of when I go) just so I enjoy their perfectly constructed burgers. But I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical of the Indy location. How can they keep to Chicago's high standards? How can the service staff bring that same high level of customer service and hospitality in that characteristic Heavy Metal fashion? Well....I'm happy to same that the Indy location brings that same level of excellence a Whole 3 hours closer to us. I can't praise the burgers at Kuma's enough...Without a doubt the Best Burgers you can get in Indy. I've been to BruBurger and BurgerHaus, they don't hold a candle to Kuma's. And if the food and the unique atmosphere wasn't enough to get you to go then service staff will. Our waitress Kayla was social, informative, and attentive, while also giving us enough room to not feel closely monitored. And a BIG Shout to the guy busting his butt to constantly keep my water filled and our table cleared. Yea, they do that so they can turn over tables fast, but it shows a level of attention to detail. If you're looking for a burger place, you HAVE TO go to Kuma's Corner in Indy. Yes, it's loud. Yes, they play heavy metal music and have a horror movie running on loop at the bar (so cool). I was so excited to try this place after hearing it was coming to Indy! When we walked in it wasn't that busy but we were told it would be 45 min - 1 hr wait. In the mean time we found a place at the bar. As soon as we ordered our beers our table was ready! The menu was great and there are a LOT of options. The food took about an hour to get to our tables. That was probably the only downside to this place. I will blame this on being brand new and working the kinks out. The burgers were great! I would go for the house chips if I could do it again because the fries were just soft. I got the Goatsnake burger. Highly recommend. We will be back once it's broken in a bit. Bartender VERY impatient and condescending as we seated at the bar waiting for a table. We had a group of seven people out to celebrate a birthday and Veterans Day. She took two of or orders, walked away, served her obvious regulars, came back with attitude and never served beverages to two of us including me. We left for Revolution across the street for a much better experience. As a member of Yelp's Elite since 2015 I would never come back to this venue again and do not recommend. This place has some spectacular burgers! The patties are huge and the toppings generous. The fries and chips are both great sides and the drink selection is diverse. Let's start with the good. My waiter was very nice and efficient. The food I ordered came quickly and was cooked as I ordered. I like the modern feel of the place and the decor. The music was loud but not as obnoxious as I imagined. And their house-made potato chips were awesome. Some of the best I've ever eaten. Now for the not-so-good. Their specialty is burgers. Mine was fine, but not superior. I ordered the Neurosis Burger, which had two kinds of cheese, garlic mayo, sautéed onions and mushrooms. It was rather ordinary. I had to add salt. And the bun was too dense and thick. I could not eat most of it. The burgers are all 10 oz which seem a bit big for my liking. I didn't quite finish the burger even after leaving most of the bun. Also, there is no wifi. .... My second visit was with my son. He ordered a burger and I got the chili. We waited a full 30 minutes after we ordered. When our food finally came back all of it was room temperature. We sent it all back and left. They apologized and comped us but the manager seemed more interested in making excuses. read more

In order to understand how excited I was about eating at Kuma's you have to first understand how disappointed I was when I tried to eat there in Chicago four years ago but wasn't able to because it was closed the day I was visiting. I've been looking for a reason to come back this way since then and that day has finally come. Some friends and I (from Pittsburgh) are in town for a concert and after begging (okay, they were pretty willing to oblige) them to check out the food here, we were completely impressed. The atmosphere is super cool, very open and lots of natural light. The beer selection was pretty expansive and I was even able to try a locally brewed IPA, which was also something that was on my to-do list for the visit. The music is exactly what you'd expect for a rock/meta themed restaurant. I grew up on Metallica, so hearing their music while eating a burger named after them literally felt like too much to handle. I may or may not have squealed when the food came out. The staff was so friendly and really knowledgable about the menu. The manager came by multiple times just to chat (and to meet the girl who squealed at the arrival of her food). It was a very chill lunch for us and the food is absolutely delicious. Quite possibly one of the best burgers I've ever had. Get the roasted garlic mayo to dip your fries in... it's so good. Here's to hoping they bring another location out to Pittsburgh so I can eat there all the time! read more

After a couple of failed attempts to Milktooth, we decided to give Kuma's Corner a try after drooling at their pictures of gigantic burgers on yelp. We walk in and a very friendly bartender greeted us. The place has heavy metal music blasting in the background. We sat at the bar to get a good view of the TV. Their menu is not overwhelming and they offer $10 lunch specials with some of their popular burgers. Our friendly bartender/waiter made a few good recommendations and we decided to go with the Slayer and the Plague Bringer. Burgers are served with either fries or their house chips. The Slayer was basically huge slob of everything the kitchen has on a bed of fries and a 10oz beef patty. JK, it wasn't that bad of a slob but it had chili, andouille sausages, cheese, and cherry peppers. It was a tad bit heavy for me to be honest. I can probably pass on this dish next time. However, the Plague Bringer burger was delicious! Why didn't we get the full 10 oz IDK, but the lunch portion (5.5 oz patty) was just not enough! :( Since we got fries with the Slayer, we decided to go with the house chips with the Plague Bringer. Those chips are amazing! So crunchy! Very sad I didn't get the name of the waiter to give him a shoutout but he's the one with a big beard! Ya can't miss him. I was so pleased to hear this location much closer to my home opened! it as every bit as delicious & infinitely more convenient than a he Chicago location I visited a few years ago. there was no wait and the food was fantastic! the staff was attentive and playful. the service here far exceeded that which I received at the chicago location. so far, I've had the Goatsnake, Lair of the Minotaur, & the Neurosis burgers and they're all stellar. The Goatsnake is my favorite so far. The fries are good. The surprise delectable item? Overall: I hate to judge this place poorly after one experience but getting sick just completely ruined it. For some reason, the name Kuma definitely made me think that this was more of an ethnic restaurant. But it's really a heavy metal burger place. The restaurant is cool. It has a big window out front that can open and creates this wonderful, big space. Food wise, it was ok. I think I got the standard medium well burger with fries. The burger was ok... I'm a big burger person, but for some reason this was really tough for me to finish. It is a very hearty burger so you really got to get your bite into it. The fries are my kind of fries - super crispy and you can tell that they make it all themselves. Not sure if I would come again - it's a pretty heavy meal, but maybe I'll come by and give it another shot. read more

Nice addition to the neighborhood. There's lots to like about this place - but also a few negatives. They play heavy metal music at all times at a very loud volume. As a child of the 80's I have no problem with this - but its clearly not for everyone. Dont plan on having a meaningful conversation as the music drowns out everything. The service was very friendly albeit slow. The waiting time was mostly on the kitchen staff - not the waitresses. I'll cut them some slack because its a new place. I Got the "Metallica" burger which was topped with Buffalo chicken sauce and blue cheese. It was big, well seasoned, and cooked the way I asked. Fresh cut fries were awesome. I asked for some Malt vinegar for the fries and the waitress looked at me like a deer in the headlights. Gotta have vinegar with fresh cut fries. But still a great meal. Holy hell.. the vegan burger they have here is incredible. Considering the cost and the size of the burger you get (along with the mountain of fries), you'll certainly not leave hungry. Even after arriving 30min-ish before the kitchen closed, we got hot, fresh, stupidly great tasting food. Nice location. Good food. The family went there this past Sunday. It is a little loud but what would you expect from a metal theme restaurant. Wife had the Lair of the Minotaur. I did the High on Fire. Both pretty good burgers! Plenty of beer selection which is a plus. Decent in the afternoon for kids. Not sure about tonight's. I'd recommend checking them out. Good burgers and great service! This place was fun and we sat at the burger bar so we watched the magic happen. The amount of options you can put on a burger were staggering. The pretzel bun is perfection! We came here after leaving another restaurant due to terrible service, but Kuma's service was wonderful. Our waiter took great care of us and recommend good burger options to try. Maybe it was because we were at the burger bar and they had to pass us by, but several other waitresses checked in on us too. I sat underneath a speaker and the music was way too loud. I couldn't hear the person next to me and I left with hearing loss and a headache, but fortunately I like rock music so that's a trade off. read more

I went to Kuma's corner for lunch and was pretty impressed . My burger, Skidrow, was really good. It had mushrooms and blue cheeses and the patty was cooked perfectly. However the house chips were extremely salty, I couldn't even eat them, which was disappointing. I also thought it was pretty pricy for what it was. I got a lunch special and it was 10$ for a burger and chips, which wasn't bad but the dinner prices were significantly higher. They don't have all the sandwiches in lunch sizes so if you're vegetarian you're going to be paying more because you have to get the dinner. The atmosphere was pretty cool if you like heavy metal you'll like the music. It's pretty small but they have plenty of seating for larger groups. Our server was really nice and friendly and kept our drinks full. We got our food at a reasonable time as well. read more

We added bacon and jalapeño to our Mac and cheese, just some of many options to make an already delicious dish even better. This was one entree and thank God we split it because it was huge! Fountain Square, metal, concert posters, and walking through the window is how I first experienced Kuma's Corner. Went here for the first time and it was such a great experience. Hostess was so amiable and helpful. We were seated faster than expected. Once we got to our table we were surrounding my concert posters and photographs of artists. Lots of cool stuff to look at inside the restaurant. Our waiter was equally as great as the hostess. I ended up getting the Buffalo Chicken Tenders which were everything I wanted and more. Great flavor and just enough pieces. When looking at my parties burger and fries (all names after bands) I knew I needed to come back to try it. Everything looked good, tasted good, and the service was great. I would heavily recommend for those that want rock (mostly metal) playing in the background and a good ambiance. The whole venue is more "darker" than most so you have to enjoy that. Can't wait to go back to try the burgers! Hopefully the Iron Maiden Burger! read more

What a welcome addition to Fountain Square, and to Indy. Our server (Who we recognized as working at another local restaurant previously) took his time explaining the menu to us. We didn't feel rushed at all, and felt like the staff really appreciated that we chose them for lunch. Our burgers were cooked to perfection, the toppings were plentiful, and I must say, those are some of the best fries I've ever tasted. Their choice of music fits the atmosphere, and we really appreciated the fact that it was loud enough to hear, yet not loud enough to interfere with normal conversation. Holy Hamburgers! This place is delicious! I came here late on a Friday night and ordered the Lair of the Minotaur (bourbon poached pears, Brie cheese, onions, pancetta, and one enormous patty). I'm guessing this is the same for most of their burgers, but for $14, this thing is HUGE. You can indicate how you would like your burger cooked and it comes with an equally large side of fries. The side of fries is like a small family portion... now we're talking. The ingredients on the burger were well thought out and good quality. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pears, but then again, after eating my weights worth in burger and fries, I wasn't looking for any extra frills. This place also has an extensive drink list with many featured beers on draft and many, many more in cans/bottles. read more

This place was super busy for a Wednesday night, but we decided the wait would be worth it. We were told 20 minutes, but seated after about 5. I loved the vibe! It had a lot of metal music references going on and there was a lot of personality. I had the heartwork burger, which was totally vegan and delicious!! (You can sub all the burgers with a vegan patty fyi) We also split the fried pickles- incredible. All the food was super flavorful and satisfying.
