Went her Sat evening before a show at the Murat Theatre. It's a half block walk. Time was short, it was a 40 minute wait for a 2 top. Luckily there were 2 open bar seats. We sat, ordered beverages and the burgers. We got in and out in 40 ish minutes. If I had more time, sitting on the patio would have been nice. I noticed a lot of carryout orders being picked up, so I knew it must be good. We are not local to Indy so finding a quick good meal was important. They had a decent local beer tap list, so I was happy to try a new to me brew. We got one Tillamook Cheddar Burger with fries, and a Patty melt with onion rings. It must have been one huge onion! Both burgers were cooked to our request, both sides were delicious. The service was efficient. I would come back if the opportunity arises.(The show at the Murat was also great). read more

Bru Burger Bar, you seem to becoming one of our Indy 500 traditions. You have an extensive cocktail and beer menu, many burgers to choose from along with a variety of sides. Our server quickly greeted us and took our beverage orders...they carry only Pepsi soft drink products. She quickly returned beverages on tray, then took our orders. I opted for the Patty Melt along with a side of onion rings. The entrees arrived in the blink of an eye. My Patty melt and onion rings arrived fresh and hot. They even tasted great too! The hamburger patty was thick and juicy and cooked the way I'd prepare it myself. Portions were more than ample. After finishing my "feast" it was time for dessert, a Root Beer float, served in a tall larger glass with an ample portion of ice cream. I would suggest ordering it for two...it's that big. Went to Bru Burger for a date and overall it was a solid experience. The food was really good--definitely lived up to the hype. My date barely touched her food (not sure why ), but everything I had tasted great. The atmosphere was one of the best parts. It had a really nice vibe with a good balance of modern and natural elements, which made it a great spot to just sit and talk. Only downside is the parking situation--they really need their own dedicated parking because it can be a hassle. Other than that, I'd say it's a strong 4 stars and worth checking out. read more

It's a nice spot on mass ave with a decent amount of tables and seating. It can get tight depending on how busy but they do a great job with accommodating parties of all sizes. We were seated right away and had excellent service. Our server was very friendly and attentive, especially when one item was not the correct order. We've been frequenting Cunningham establishments for many years and we especially love the loyalty rewards! Today we celebrated my husband's birthday and received a complimentary dessert. He selected the seasonal delight which is their Pumpkin Cheesecake. We split a burger and really you can't go wrong there. They live up to their name as a burger specialty place and the food and service is consistently great. The food arrived at lightning speed even though its was peak lunchtime. Our server was attentive and friendly while still maintaining authenticity and didn't make us feel rushed or neglected. Will come back for my favorite go to at Bru--the Valencia salad. I ordered the patty melt through DoorDash and what I received was terrible. Bread was hard, not toasted. The bread was also a wide slice with one patty placed in the middle, leaving a great amount of bread on both sides. There was very little cheese or condiments, creating a dry sandwich. Bru Burger is consistently a solid choice. They now have multiple locations. Cunningham restaurants almost always deliver, and this is no exception. I've been here several times and always enjoy the experience. The Sriracha Caesar salad is one of my top recommendations. It's unique, flavorful, and worth trying. I do miss the mango chutney they used to serve on the veggie burger, but overall the menu still holds plenty of great options. Service is usually attentive, and drinks come out quickly, which makes for an easy dining experience. The downtown Indianapolis location also has an amazing patio that's perfect for enjoying a meal. Went for His Goatness's birthday dinner with the fam... I haven't had a burger since last summer, I think, and the place is known as a somewhat upscale eatery, in the heart of the Mass Ave district. Ambience was clean and modern, low light, a bit noisy. Menu: mostly burgers and sandwiches, some salads. I noticed some vegan options, which surprised me -- nice to see! Jeffrey (Geoffrey?), our server, was on point all evening, keeping water glasses full and making sure all our needs were met. Great service. Thanks, Jeff! I chose the BRU burger, which sounded like a slightly more gourmet version of a plain cheeseburger, with tomato jam and taleggio cheese (yum!). And because I love them and don't often eat them, the onion rings. Food arrived tepid, onion rings congealing; I managed to eat one. Burger meat was good, if not terribly warm or juicy (they achieved the medium rare I asked for), cheese was gooey and delicious, but bacon was cold, and the "fixins" consisted of pathetic shreds of iceberg lettuce. Not really the upscale burger I thought I was getting. Meh. Ketchup was, I think, house-made... sweeet with three E's. Not great, and not great for diabetics. I ate half the burger and didn't bother taking anything home. Yum! We hadn't been to Bru Burger in a while so this was a nice treat. We sat at the bar as there was a 45 min wait otherwise. The bar was hopping, they were very busy but also attentive to the guests seated there. We each had a burger and split a fry. The fries were the hottest fries I've ever had! We had a nice happy hour late lunch/early dinner at Bru on a Monday afternoon around 3:30pm. The restaurant was busy, but we waited less than 15 minutes for a table outside. The patio is shaded, but open. The surrounding trees make for a relaxing outdoor dining experience. Our server was polite and friendly. We ordered a couple draft beers for $3 off at happy hour and the 1/2 price Nashville hot chicken tenders along with a Mexicali burger to share. The chicken tenders came out with a house made ranch that was fantastic. The chicken itself was perfectly breaded and fried, but not nearly as spicy as they looked. My bf decided we should go somewhere new that he hadn't been to and it had been years since I been here so we went. We were greeted right away and seated right then and there. We opted to sit outside despite the heat. Being cooped up at work kinda makes us want to be out either way. Jeff was our server. He was very friendly and helpful with letting my bf know about some items on the menu even though I recall always having a good meal there in the past. He ordered the Bru burger and I opted for the buttermilk chicken tenders as my meal although it's an appetizer. Typically it'll be BBQ sauce but I prefer bleu cheese so Jeff was great with giving me other options as well but my mind was set on the bleu. I drank water and Jeff kept my glass full which was great especially in this heat! My bf had the Bramble On which was whiskey, blackberry, lemonade, and ginger beer...it was delicious, very refreshing! I had to try a sip. Our food was piping hot which I absolutely love! His Cole slaw was a great complement to his burger. The tomato jam on it was very delightful. My chicken tenders were absolutely perfectly seasoned and temperature was great as I love my food hot. Although not as inspired as they were in the past, Bru has a consistent product that feels slightly upscale yet is affordable. Good atmosphere and great staff. Their homemade ketchup is out of this world still. I don't know why they don't bottle it. read more

Always a tried and true! Decided to get a bite here with a friend for Devour. Good as always! I started with a 'Bramble On' cocktail. My friend got a classic margarita. For our starters I got the pretzels while she got the fries. Our waitress was awesome and made the decision for the pretzels to come out first as neither my friend or myself cared if they came out before or with the main dishes. The fries came with three separate dips/sauces to choose from, but we enjoyed using the pretzel cheese the most with the fries. For our mains I got the garlic three cheese. It's my go to at Bru. My friend got the bourbon burger. I'd made a reservation for quick seating, and we were seated promptly. Service was excellent. The food was excellent. Still a tried and true restaurant. Definitely enough for family to share. And delicious. Scratch made. Beer-battered. Yummyness. Now here's where I had issues... my burger was under seasoned. This review is coming from someone that is not from this area of the country so please consider that! The place looks great and has a really cool vibe. The staff were amazing and very welcoming. I would recommend for the staff and vibe. The food again not a mid westerner I'm not sure if it is regional thing but velveeta should never be the cheese you use in beer cheese in my option American cheese should not be a go to cheese for anything. The pretzels were really good without the cheese. The burgers are good go for the smash option really pretty decent. With that being said the Garlic three ways lives up to the reviews. Unless you love to eat garlic raw do not go for the garlic three ways. My family is Polish and that was way too much garlic. The good thing was we didn't have to worry about vampires for a week.
