Rainbow crunchy row and yellow tail sashimi that was on the top, great sushi in compton little hole in the wall

Great food and service I recommended it if you are ever in the city of Compton Lynwood or north LBC

    2. Beef Gyoza (6 Pieces)

During the week they have $5 happy hour appetizer which is a plus and the beef gyoza is perfect. Ordered the Mexican roll and Red Fox roll and it was great too. The chef/owner was quick, friendly, and very accommodating. The waitress was learning but patient. The menu here is very expansive and has a lot of options. Surprisingly great experience. The inside decor is nice and authentic. Now the location isnt the safest. The outside isnt impressive at all. But in the daytime its a welcoming place to go.

This place is a gem! I stopped in for lunch right when they opened and had such a great experience. The restaurant was clean and the staff (just the sushi chef and one server) were incredibly friendly. It happened to be happy hour, and the appetizers were about half off. I ordered the spicy garlic edamame, gyoza, and the chef's special sushi plate -- everything came in generous portions and the sushi was so fresh. I live about 20 minutes away and would absolutely make the trip again and again.

A definite hole in the wall place but the food is excellent. The owner was especially deserving of his award. We'll be back.

Clean and fast service, went on a Thursday around 5pm, food tasted fresh and good customer service. I shared monkey ball and baked lobster roll. Monkey ball was my favorite! Never had mushrooms in this way with crab meat and Philadelphia cheese. Baked lobster was good but for me it had a little too much of the sauce that was used which over powered the sushi. I also got a crunch hand roll, good taste , good size and very filling. Overall good spot! The sushi prices range from $10-20. They also have boats for 3-4 people. Will definitely be back to try other sushi!

    Tako (octopus) with gochujang sauce

I can confidently say that Chef Bruce served me one of the best meals I've had all year. My family and I went to Kumi Ko a few days before Christmas, and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of ingredients and the skillfulness of execution. We did an omakase style meal, where Chef Bruce basically handcrafted a menu showcasing his signature dishes. Each dish was top-notch, highlighting different flavors and sauces and textures. Two of the standout dishes were the seafood udon, which had a warm kick (chili oil I think?) and the tako sashimi which was served with a citrusy gochujang sauce. But regardless of what you order, I genuinely don't think you could go wrong. Next time our family is in LA, we will definitely be back!

I work right around the corner and I just tried Kumi Ko today! Their sushi was really good and tempura was fresh! I also tried their Iced Matcha drink and I would definitely recommend trying this sushi spot here in Compton! There was only one person working so it did take a little longer to get serviced but overall the service and ambiance of the restaurant was amazing! I plan on returning.

What a Gem! This is truly a delicious and cozy Compton spot. Look beyond the area and go try this delicious place . We had Heart attack and creamy Shrimp for appetizers and my partner got a few fresh sushi and I got the baked salmon roll that was super creamy and yummy! The Matcha LATTE WAS very nice

Here is the receipt and it shows the tip he added. We were taking this to go, we were not eating in.

Went to place a large order and who appeared to be the manager/owner was rude and very unapologetic. He also had the audacity to give himself a huge gratuity of over $60 dollars. He also gave us 2 choices take it or leave it. So we left it. He also snatched the receipt from me, but I took a picture before hand.

Coffee Macaroon - it's a perfect way to end the meal!

After going inside I can see why the wait was so long. It's not a very large restaurant. You're afforded a time limit. Something like 90 minutes but don't hold me to that statement but it was enough time for the 5 of us to get our fill especially dining with two boys in their early twenties. I loved the fact I can get my fill of ikura (Pautzke's....Hehehe) and ika nigiri sushi and my kid belly full of salmon and tuna nigiri sushi. I think the kid and the other two young adults ate a whole salmon and tuna filet! I'll have to remember to refrain myself from the hand rolls because those were a little too filling and the crispy rice was not a good choice because for me it was like eating stale rice. All the other servers (ladies) are what seems like bothered by people's presence. Our server today was very standoffish, didn't come back to ask if we needed anything else in quite a while. I wanted a refill of soda and my both my husband and I wanted more ginger and Sriracha sauce. And she was no were to be found. She finally came to take our second other of sushi and the order came after we let her know we had been waiting more than 20 minutes for 4 (4 piece) sushi rolls. She had an attitude of being bothered by our question- (do you know what's taking so long for us to get our order?) she looks at the table and asked us- You haven't gotten your sushi roll order? Apparently she failed to notice that the table had no dirty dishes. I believe it was more than enough time to have gotten our order, I noticed that other people were getting their orders before us. And yes! I know that happens often. But her attitude made us uncomfortable and I even thought she made had forgotten about our order and never put it in. Anyway! The food is great! I do recommend this place. But they really need to train their staff (servers) to be more understanding and friendly with their customers. The guys that pick up the dirty dishes are more nice and friendly than the servers that are the main workers that are representing the restaurant and its reputation.

The service has been mostly wonderful. We did run into one hiccup when we found some hard, jagged black chunks in the Double S Roll that we couldn't eat.
