Great food and service I recommended it if you are ever in the city of Compton Lynwood or north LBC

    2. Beef Gyoza (6 Pieces)
    Ray M.

During the week they have $5 happy hour appetizer which is a plus and the beef gyoza is perfect. Ordered the Mexican roll and Red Fox roll and it was great too. The chef/owner was quick, friendly, and very accommodating. The waitress was learning but patient. The menu here is very expansive and has a lot of options. Surprisingly great experience. The inside decor is nice and authentic. Now the location isnt the safest. The outside isnt impressive at all. But in the daytime its a welcoming place to go.

This place is a gem! I stopped in for lunch right when they opened and had such a great experience. The restaurant was clean and the staff (just the sushi chef and one server) were incredibly friendly. It happened to be happy hour, and the appetizers were about half off. I ordered the spicy garlic edamame, gyoza, and the chef's special sushi plate -- everything came in generous portions and the sushi was so fresh. I live about 20 minutes away and would absolutely make the trip again and again.

A definite hole in the wall place but the food is excellent. The owner was especially deserving of his award. We'll be back.

    Baked 11. Baby Lobster Roll

Clean and fast service, went on a Thursday around 5pm, food tasted fresh and good customer service. I shared monkey ball and baked lobster roll. Monkey ball was my favorite! Never had mushrooms in this way with crab meat and Philadelphia cheese. Baked lobster was good but for me it had a little too much of the sauce that was used which over powered the sushi. I also got a crunch hand roll, good taste , good size and very filling. Overall good spot! The sushi prices range from $10-20. They also have boats for 3-4 people. Will definitely be back to try other sushi!

I can confidently say that Chef Bruce served me one of the best meals I've had all year. My family and I went to Kumi Ko a few days before Christmas, and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of ingredients and the skillfulness of execution. We did an omakase style meal, where Chef Bruce basically handcrafted a menu showcasing his signature dishes. Each dish was top-notch, highlighting different flavors and sauces and textures. Two of the standout dishes were the seafood udon, which had a warm kick (chili oil I think?) and the tako sashimi which was served with a citrusy gochujang sauce. But regardless of what you order, I genuinely don't think you could go wrong. Next time our family is in LA, we will definitely be back!

I work right around the corner and I just tried Kumi Ko today! Their sushi was really good and tempura was fresh! I also tried their Iced Matcha drink and I would definitely recommend trying this sushi spot here in Compton! There was only one person working so it did take a little longer to get serviced but overall the service and ambiance of the restaurant was amazing! I plan on returning.

What a Gem! This is truly a delicious and cozy Compton spot. Look beyond the area and go try this delicious place . We had Heart attack and creamy Shrimp for appetizers and my partner got a few fresh sushi and I got the baked salmon roll that was super creamy and yummy! The Matcha LATTE WAS very nice

Here is the receipt and it shows the tip he added. We were taking this to go, we were not eating in.

Went to place a large order and who appeared to be the manager/owner was rude and very unapologetic. He also had the audacity to give himself a huge gratuity of over $60 dollars. He also gave us 2 choices take it or leave it. So we left it. He also snatched the receipt from me, but I took a picture before hand.

Coffee Macaroon - it's a perfect way to end the meal!

My total before tip/tax was $12.50, which is amazing for the quality and portion! Other than base + protein, the bowls also come with pickled veggies, kimchi, broccoli, and a side of their green (cilantro jalapeno) sauce. The wait was reasonable considering they were also finishing up a pretty large order when I came in. All of the flavors worked so well! I was particularly surprised with the green sauce-I've had it with so many other cuisines but never thought to pair it with Korean food. The bowl was filling while still feeling healthy and nutritious. I will say the spicy chicken really isn't spicy (the kimchi is much spicier by comparison), so I would love for spice levels to be ramped up a bit. The interior is cozy in a homey-older restaurant type of way. There's a good amount of seating but it seems like a lot of people order takeout. I also noticed that the staff speak incredibly kindly with each other, which was so lovely to see! This seems like a small business you can feel good about supporting.

Looking at reviews, I saw a photo of a jalapeño bomb but I didn't see it on the menu online , and the photo didn't have a description. I arrived in the drive thru ( YES THEY HAVE ONE!!! ) and asked if they had jalapeño bombs and they said yes! They call it jalapeño bom. I will say, even though THE jalopeno is larger, I've never had an order that only contained one jalapeño, split in half... these are my go to and they have a minimum of 4 halves, which is 2 jalapeños filled. This only has one jalapeño, split in half filled, for 6.99 which I feel is more on the steep side for just one. They have fusion tacos, which I decided to try because I love signature items. I chose the beef, and they have chicken also or you can do half and half. Cucumbers, onion, and cilantro, teriyaki sauce and hot sauce, 4 to an order for 12.99. They are definitely worth it. But they didn't have the sesame seed garnish topping like I saw on prior photos. The drinks aren't on the menu but you can ask what they have. Customer service was great and food was fresh. And the drive thru is my favorite.

I brought my boyfriend here for the first time and he got the beef teriyaki bowl, which he said was delicious. Our only complaint is the price. It's a little on the expensive side I feel the portion doesn't scream $15, it kind of screams $10. Still tasty though. I felt almost confused at first, like as if the restaurant wasn't even sure of its own identity. However, once I started eating the food, I understood and am extremely impressed. I had ordered the crawfish pasta, popcorn chicken (spicy), and fried baos. The pasta was cooked perfectly with chunks of crawfish and sausage in a creamy tomato-esque sauce. I usually don't care for crawfish, but it was so delicious here. The sauce was so buttery and creamy, and the sausage added a cajun spice to the dish. The components are all very seafood boil, but felt different and innovative with unique flavors. The popcorn chicken was seasoned very well and had the perfect fried, crispy texture you'd expect from popcorn chicken. What really made this unique was the sauce that it was served with. I am not sure what exactly the sauce is, but it tastes like a ginger scallion sauce that is served with Chinese boiled chicken. The sauce is a little more elevated and flavorful than a traditional ginger scallion sauce. I would've never thought to combine popcorn chicken with it, but it works! The fried baos were the most surprising to me. I was keeping my expectations low because I usually think frying something that's not normally fried doesn't always bode well. Fear not, the baos were fried perfectly. They were fried lightly while the inside kept your typical bao consistency. Also, in case you were wondering the type of bao, it is basically a steamed bao with ground pork, and I think an egg yolk inside. The flavors felt very much like traditional dim sum, yet new and fresh. Hats off to the chefs and the creators of these dishes. So innovative while still keeping the familiar Asian flavors! The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. All the food was really tasty and everybody was happy not to have to leave the hotel. I heard compliments on the Pad Thai and the Coconut soup.
