Was so excited to see this place opened. Ordered yesterday through BentoBox and went to pick up my order - only to be told that the restaurant 1. Did not have ANY item I ordered and paid for online and 2. Did not use bento box. Was told they could not refund my payment either. Many hours later after speaking to my credit card company to remove the pending charge and calling Bento Box, I was told that it is in fact Kunduz's responsibility to refund my order. They have not indicated that they will despite their BentoBox menu being incorrect. The other frustrating part about this experience is that when I spoke to the Kunduz manager about this, he didn't seem to care at all! He told me to pick other food from their accurate menu, then walked away... and never came back! The disorganization on Kunduz's part is so disappointing and frankly weird. How do you operate a restaurant with 3rd party apps and not keep track of your apps? How many more customers are losing money because this restaurant won't turn off their BentoBox subscription? Kunduz has no problem taking your money though! Although I want to support local businesses, I will not come back here because of how they handled this situation. Now I'm out $55, have to dispute this charge on my credit card, and have to deal with the headache of being deceived and knowing this restaurant commits fraudulent practices. Beware! read more

Kunduz Kabob is hands down one of the best Afghan restaurants in the Bay Area. I've tried pretty much every Afghan spot around here, and this one comes the closest to that truly authentic taste. The Kabuli Pallow and Tikka Kabob are absolutely amazing -- full of flavor, tender, and cooked perfectly every time. I've also tried the Bolani, which was fresh and delicious. You can tell it's a family-owned business because they genuinely care about their customers and put pride into their food. Coworker recommended this place. We live in Berkeley, so it is not a short drive to get there to have food. I have been calling for mobile orders multiple times. Usually I call them when I'm 30 min away from there. So I can pick up food and drive another almost 40 min to enjoy the food at home. Food has always been good. However, everytime I had to wait there for another 30 min after arrival. It seems like they have some trust issues with customers who order by mobile. They won't prepare food until you are there. If that's the case they could have just told me ahead that they wouldn't prepare until I arrive. It occurred multiple times and one of the time they didn't have what I ordered without telling me over the phone but until I arrived there. Service is hard to tell. I walked in to pick up food then was told to wait. After 20-30 min paid for food and left. Not much interactions. Like I mentioned, the food is actually pretty good. Portion is good too. I loved their Muling Palau. I might visit if only I am already around there. read more

He even gave me the recipe for their lamb karahi. Tea, salad and rice are served with the entrees. Must try Bolani (vegetarian). Handwoven rugs -- one showing the states of Afghanistan, and a prayer room enhance the decor. Garlic-cilantro-ginger and a hot sauce on the tables. Went on Eid with about 10 family members and can confidently say this was the best kabob we've ever had. Staff was super busy but still friendly and ensured we were taken care of. The restaurant is nice quiet and decent size but the food is so good. Delicious and not so spicy. Everything is halal I was going to skip it because of those bad review but I am glad I stop by. I tried the best chapli I ever had. I was never a fan of Qabuli rice but I am planning to come back to try that because my wife tired and i regret to getting it. They even customized my order. We took the family today to try this place out. Kabob was soo delicious and juicy. Naan was fresh and warm. Definitely recommend the lamb tikka kabob, can't find it like this anywhere. Even the fries are homemade and so yummy. Whole family left full and happy. We will be back soon! read more

My dad and I came by to try out this new kabob shop and all we can say is wow! The staff were first off very friendly,amazing, and great at explaining the best things to try. (Trust their recommendations!) I wish I had a picture of the chicken soup to post but it was quite possibly the best soup I've ever had. Every kabob we tried was amazing. My mom only eats chicken and is very picky about what she eats. I asked to try a bite of the chicken and she said no so that must speak to how amazing it was. The best kabob in our opinion was the ground beef, it was seasoned perfectly! For dessert try the baklava as well. I recommend everyone to come try this amazing restaurant! read more

Kunduz Kabob is a hidden gym in Concord. My cousin catered from them for her engagement party and I've been a customer ever since. I've ordered their fast casual food for lunch, like Afghani burger, beef burger, and wraps. I've also had full course meals there with soup and bolani as appetizers, qabuli palau and tikka kabob as an entree, and baklava with cardamom tea for desert. Do not give this place business. They are same owners of the shady mechanics on the same parking lot. They are dishonest and do not care about customer service or even making sure you have a quality product. Both these places will be shut down soon. The mechanics use subpar products and have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I can only imagine what's going on inside this kitchen of this place. Was excited to try this new spot. What a disappointment out of my meal didn't tell me until he served my sister and husband theirs. Lamb was dry and no taste no selection of drinks only two Diet Coke and regular coke. Service terrible. A man came in 20 minutes after us he was eating while we still was waiting another 10 minutes before he came and told us they didn't have my meal.
