I went car shopping today, and looked at what stock they had available, plus checked out their deals. I have dealt with Kunes Delevan before, and purchased my current vehicle here. Great staff and very "low pressure" while you're shopping. Someone is always available to talk to or answer any questions you may have. Nice service department and lounge while you're waiting for your vehicle to be serviced (they even have a massage chair). Definitely a very professional and courteous dealership. Where to start? First of all, the negotiation process was slow and painful. Numbers would be shared, and then I would sit and wait for 15 minutes. I get negotiating prices for vehicles is never a fun process but this was brutal. On the drive home, I started to realized the AC wasn't working even though the window sticker said it did. I live 3 hours from this place so I couldn't just swing by and bring it up, I had to call. Getting a hold of the used car manager and the general sales manager took forever. It took 3 calls before they finally agreed for me to bring it in and check it out. After a 2 hour diagnosis, they quoted me $2500 for a new air compressor to be installed ($1000 in labor). They wouldn't agree to help at all with the costs even though they said the truck had AC when I bought it. Not to mention, I took it to a different shop and was quoted $1200 to get it fixed. Instead of working with me, they wanted me to just buy a newer truck with less miles on it. Would never recommend this place to anyone. I had a bad feeling about the place when going over prices during the negotiation and I should've trusted my gut and walked out of the dealership. Now I know for next time. read more

Called and talked to Michael about getting a wheel baring replaced on my car. I was quoted $940 when it was time to pay I was told $1040! Also when I got my car back it sounded worse than when I brought it in. Had to turnaround and go back to the dealership! Was told that while it was being worked on something was bent, so they didn't drive the car to make sure everything was working properly! Don't trust this dealership! I'll never go back! read more

03/07/2026 We're still waiting for the full refund of the overage charged in sales tax/license fees. Kunes uses a third party, Dealer Docs, who is responsible for sending the fees to the state. They don't seem to be capable of that task. They were late in getting the paperwork to our Dept of Revenue so we were charged a late fee, they didn't send the full amount that we paid to the DOR, so the state had to request more of the money we already paid to be sent, then the refund we were supposed to receive after everything was completed was $451.27 short of what we should have received. I wonder if this is a scam...either a way for the dealership to make extra money or a way for Dealer Doc to make extra money? Kunes communication has decreased dramatically since we've been trying to get our refund which is one reason I'm editing my review. I would expect good communication before, during & AFTER the sales. Overall, the experience was good, I guess. This was our first purchase of a new vehicle out of state. We had a hiccup with FedEx in the contract for signatures which took longer than usual and another hiccup in finding someone to deliver it to Missouri. Some Ford warranty work will be needed for a couple of issues and hopefully the Kunes dealership will come through on those. So far we've been unsuccessful in finding a local dealership to do the Ford warranty issues since it wasn't purchased at their facility. read more

I'm writing to let people know that I bought a used truck and the dealership said it was safe. I fact the safety devices are not working. I had them check it and they it was working. I don't depend on these safety devices but they do not work and buyers should be aware and they will act as if it is fine. The dealership is not sharing with the buyer if a vehicle has been in an accident. had I received this I would not have bought the truck. read more

We spent $70k on a car and only after they had our check did they inform us that they only had 1 key. We were extremely angry and they didn't care nor did they attempt to get another key made for us. I emailed all of the top managers and didn't even get a reply from anyone. I would never recommend this dealership, i feel we were misled. read more

Was charged a 3 percent credit card fee that wasn't disclosed ahead of time, and a $2.97 service history admin fee whatever that is. Are there any other business costs that they want me to pay? Maybe a heating surcharge or a water surcharge, or a property tax surcharge. I could pay all their costs of running a business and then pay a profit surcharge. They could make more money. read more

He played the car game with me the whole time of course only worried about his sale as after when the problems came ya know the 3 days after u can exchange he never answered. I was told my application and everything was already approved yesterday I got a ride down here and lo and behold they lied to me. They said they couldn't find my application so had to make it out again. when they did I was automatically disqualified as I make too little money. I would never have wasted my time coming down had I know these people were a bunch of liars. Now I have to wait a couple hours to get a ride (50 miles away) home. Do you think I would have let my drive r go has I been told the truth. I would never have come down. Finally as a Christian they should remove the Christian music. Welcome me when I first walked in, he very professional and polite, not pushy for the sale. I can also say the vehicles they have, are good shape and I can see they are professionally detail. Not very happy, two times weren't the charm. The first time I was told that I was pre-approved, took a trip via Uber (at a round trip cost of $100, I unfortunately totaled out my BMW a few weeks earlier) to their Elkhorn dealership only to be told I was approved for only $2500, not a lot of vehicles in that price range that I was interested in so I took a ride back home to Waukesha. A month or two later I received another email from the finance manager at Kunes Ford saying I was approved again. I replied saying that Kunes must do this just to get people in the door. He replied numerous times after that saying ''no worries, you are fully approved''. I took a chance and another Uber (still in-between vehicles) for a $100 round trip only to be told they needed more paperwork from my two corporations which I provided a day later. Never heard back from them again but I did find out they performed nine hard hits on my credit report making it worse. I understand that my credit is challenging but they assured my that I was approved twice. Thinking I won't be back a third time. read more

This car dealership hires the worst salesman you can deal with, and they are not supportive. They hired a woman named Stephany that sold me a lemon with a smile on her face. She lied to me and told me my car had a new engine, and the car died three months later! It turns out there was never a new engine put in the car. I have been struggling to get to work and pay my bills since I have to pay for public transportation. I have to quit my job now because I can no longer afford to get to work. This is so sad. And she told me there were s nothing she can do to help me. I don't know what to do ....? read more

If I could give them a zero I would. They contacted my son who just filed bankruptcy and told him that they were able to get him special financing and that he was approved. So we drive 40 mins to go see the guy and guess what. Nope no special financing no financing at all. So much for helping people with no credit or bad credit! Very unprofessional. my daughter has a 'no fear' warranty on her vehicle she bought in belvidere! supposed to be something good for her, to keep her from worrying about a mechanical issue on her car. the car broke down, she took it in, and low and behold....something on the engine is not covered on the warranty. i guess because she doesn't get it serviced (overpriced) during the 1 year she had it, had it serviced mine you but not at their dealership....now it's not covered. 9 mos pregnant, treated like garbage, and spoken down to plus added a fee of $140+ just to tell her they take back the 'no fear' warranty guarantee......pathetic. this place lies, takes back the 'no fear' in their contract, adds their own rules and cheats their customers. don't go there!!!!!! they don't care about you, or their word. read more

This dealership sold me an $80,000 nightmare. I thought turn signals were somewhat mandatory, but my truck arrived without them, without a radio, with a dead battery, and with a malfunctioning gas gauge. And to top it all off these thieves won't return my money. I urge you to find literally any other dealership before you step foot into this place and spend your hard earned money.
