Entrance to Kung Fu Tea Symphony Massachusetts Ave. Boston

My mother enjoys her taro milk tea at Kung Fu Tea. I've noticed a couple of ongoing issues that really need attention. First, the bricks at the entrance are loose and scattered, which is a major safety concern. It has been like this for over a year and getting worse. My mother uses a wheelchair, and it's extremely difficult--and even dangerous--for her to get inside safely. It's disappointing that accessibility hasn't been better addressed. I've brought it to the attention of the staff and they are dismissive. Second, there have been times when we've come during posted business hours only to find a handwritten "on break" sign and the store temporarily closed. I totally understand that employees need breaks, but there should be better communication or staffing to avoid this kind of surprise for customers. I'm sharing this in the hopes that it helps improve the experience for everyone--especially those with mobility challenges.

Solid boba spot. They sometimes make mistakes with the orders (missing boba in a hot drink, wrong ice level) but the people are really nice here, and I like their drinks a lot, so I just come and risk it :) My go-to is the wintermelon green milk tea. I think the shop extended their hours, so now they are open until 11 pm, which I appreciate!

I've enjoyed KFT at many other locations but this store was only so-so for me. While my wintermelon green milk tea was nicely flavored, the boba was rather hard and undercooked in the center. Service was prompt but not particularly friendly - perhaps I visited on an off day. On the plus side, this store has a bright, spacious interior with ample seating. And by paying through the Kung Fu Tea app, you can get a free drink after two purchases and frequent deals like free toppings or discounted drinks. I may come back if there's a really good drink deal and I'm in the area, but will otherwise opt for other boba shops in Newbury and Chinatown.

So if you're sick of pictures of me And the legs and high heels of Barbie There's one antidote Get some balls in your throat Get Lemon Black at Kung Fu Tea! I have a massive soft spot for this Kung Fu Tea because it was the first one I ever tried in Boston, and coming to Boston was seminal (not semenal, that was New York), and it was my first stop for Boba in town, and I loved it. That's because it's right near the gym which I like to use when I'm in Boston - about 5 minutes walk from this store, which makes it even more awesome. And Que Sera, Sera Whatever will be, will be The future is Kung Fu Tea Que Sera, Sera What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or: All the fruit teas are pretty good, especially if you go off menu and get black tea! Or: Go crazy and order your fruit teas with the very strong Oolong! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! I also love the regular milk tea with Oreo! Service was nice and the place was absolutely packed wall-to-wall with people, which made it even more nice. I like to be in busy places, it makes me feel ever so slightly alive. The lemon black tea was definitely tasty, and the decor is awesome, imaginative, bright and adorable, even in the bathrooms. I love the neon blue lighting, it reminds me of Barbie or a red light district (same thing really). I'm surprised to say this is probably my favourite Kung Fu Tea location in Boston - and believe me I tried all of them - probably because of the decor, the popularity, but the fact that it's not claustrophobic and is in a great area. Way bigger than it looks on the outside, for sure, just like Barbie's, oh man is that the time, better wrap up this review. All KFT locations are great to me. You're able to customize your own sugar and ice levels to your own liking. Be prepared, it'll be filled with college students since it's really close to NEU. I've been here numerous times and they always make my drink perfectly. My go to is their taro milk tea with 70% sugar and less ice. Or their oolong milk tea with less ice if you still want that tea taste. This location has a good chunk of seating to hang out and chat with friends unlike the other locations. This location in particular is so conveniently located to everything. Plus it's right off the green line and very close to the orange line which makes this super T friendly!

This place never disappoints. Creative and consistent drinks. Only complaint is that the boba is sometimes undercooked.

Good bubble tea, with a ton of varieties. This place can get really packed, but the line usually moves quickly.

I went with two scoops, black raspberry and brownie chocolate, and the brownie was killer. Rich, chocolatey, and totally worth standing outside in 30 degree weather to eat it. We weren't sure how to enter, so we started in the bookstore and found their convenient elevator downstairs! The restaurant is tiny but cozy, which is the perfect atmosphere for a book store! We sat outside in the little courtyard and it's a mix of magical and relaxing! There were only a few tables, so it wasn't overcrowded and with nice weather, it was perfect. I had a salad with salmon on the side which was delicious - and the ginger lemonade - wonderful! From buttered noodles to seafood, everything was executed well. The staff didn't rush us even though they were busy - and they had to give really long wait times to a number of others, but we still weren't rushed. I would highly recommend reservations, but even without we were treated very well. Pricing was in line with city pricing - and the food was extremely high quality and produce was lovely - not a shriveled lettuce leaf in sight. We then went upstairs to the bookstore and perused - each floor has something fun to see (including a tiny kids door - or is it a mouse door for the mouse who stars in the book about the store?!). 100% worth a visit - definitely stop in!

The wonderful waitress, Sabrina, saved this from being a one star review. First the food. You pay $15 on the kids menu for literally a scrambled egg on an unbuttered piece of toast. Nothing else on the plate. The $24 breakfast is two scrambled eggs on white toast with a few cherry tomorrows on top and a side of small meatball-looking turkey sausages. I was shocked, but since I was with my child, I didn't want to say a thing. There is absolutely NOTHING on this menu worth the cost or experience. Also, they do not pour the tea and if you ask for milk (typically served with dark teas) the waiter gives you impatient side-eye. The cafe has everything, EVERYTHING which could really make it a spectacular experience, and I can say that I will never go again or recommend. Get a muffin and coffee/tea at Tatte or Flour Bakery and skip this cafe and go straight to the book store. The bookstore is a joy.
