This is a kiosk located in Tysons Corner mall. So as you'd expect, it is a little more limited compared to your average bubble tea place. Even when compared to other Kung Fu Tea spots, the options are more limited, with less drink options, topping options, or size options. Not to mention the long line that never seems to shrink. But, it is a Kung Fu Tea after all, so the quality is as good as you would hope for. And the convenience of having the stand right there can't be beat. If you aren't willing to get something before or after you leave the mall, or not willing to leave and come back, the convenience factor of this place makes it worth it. read more

I have been a fan of Kung Fu Tea since I discovered it a location in Annandale last year and am so glad that there is a second location open in Northern Virginia. My first visit to this location was during the soft opening when I ordered a pina-colada slush with bubbles: I would definitely recommend this drink on a hot day. My second visit was during the grand opening. The line that order a drink stretched from the kiosk all the way to the main mall entrance. Staff members were friendly, courteous, and took time to answer my questions despite the long line and constant stream of customers. I ordered the winter-melon tea since it was part of the grand opening BoGo and was surprised by the slightly sweet and refreshing flavor. Including this one, I've been to 3 Kung Fu Tea locations. This is the first and only one that needs some work. While my hot milk tea came out just fine, my bf's cold drink was not mixed well. We could see tons of floaty bits of drink mix sticking to the sides of the plastic cup the entire time. Yeah, we get that you use powder, but at least stir it??? If I ever returned, I'd stick to hot drinks...at least the heat helps dissolve the drink mix. read more

Having been to all the King Fu tea in the DC area, this one disappointed in service. Of course it was their grand opening so maybe kinks need to be worked out. It took them 3 minutes to take one order of one drink. They had a promotion going on for BOGO FREE, but only can have one of 3 drinks. That's fair. What's not on any of their marketing/fliers is it has to be the same drink. The cashier seemed overwhelmed and confused. (Manager please take note from Starbucks and don't staff your most junior as the customer facing person) As for the drink itself: it was alright. They got the light sugar right. But there was more ice than other King Fu places I had been. Plus I asked for no bubble and just the jelly. And I ended up with a mix of both. Though they remade it for me and reimbursed my $ without me needing to ask. (All of this was done by a lady making the drink not the cashier who still seemed lost). So another suggestion is have your display screen show what I ordered. TL;DR: okay drink by Kunfu Tea standard. So so by bubble tea standard. Very confused cashier. The line is always super long, so I was lucky to see that the line was shorter than usual and decided to get in line. The drink sizes are HUGE - (they only offer LARGE drinks) for me I know that I couldn't just chug the whole thing so I decided to share one with my husband. The service was prompt and they seem to really have a system down to get the orders out fast and correct. Now lets talk about the drink itself. I let my husband pick (since he'd prob end up drinking most of it). He decided on the mango slush. You can select the sweetness level to the drink and whether or not you want fun-filled bubbles as well. It was good but we both felt that we've had better. This KFT location is convenient for many mall-goers but there are some important notes to consider! It's a kiosk, so they don't have the normal amount of drinks that a physical store would have available. The drinks that they do have are the standard teas, and they're refreshing! They only have one size available, which is large. If you only want a small drink, you probably should not come here. Lines can get long, so be prepared to wait. This is my first experience with Kung Fu tea in the DMV. It's addictive! Every time I'm at Tyson's Corner, I "have" to stop here at the kiosk. And now I'm finding that I'm making excuses to go shopping at Tyson's. I do find the tea a bit pricey, but that's probably because they only offer the largest size here...and maybe also because it's so. darn. good. My fave is the classic milk tea, whether hot or cold. It's a kiosk in the mall rather than the whole shebang you'll get in other locations, so the experience is slightly less enthralling than usual. That said, it's still Kung Fu Tea, which means it's delicious, so really I have no complaints other than that it was crowded (not shocking, KFT is the best!) and they only offer one size here. I got a Taro Black Milk Tea with pudding and bubbles (my go-to), and it was delicious and well-proportioned. I asked for less sugar (70%), and it was perfect. Eh, KFT is only okay in my opinion. While I appreciate the ability the drinks to be customized out the wazoo, this is borderline ridiculous. I think KFT gives the customer so much power that it causes people to go through an annoyingly-long decision-making process. Hence the long lines that subsist at this kiosk. They should have a limited menu at this location (if it's already limited, then I can only imagine the heartache that patrons and employees go through at the Annandale flagship spot). Anyway, I've been here a few times only because the line is always so long and I'm willing to go to nearby Shilla instead. I've gotten the Oreo tea, almond milk-based tea, and a mango tea. They all tasted fine, but they weren't spectacular. Plus, they get to be pricey after you add in boba for $0.50. I have found that if you get a tea, you can down that in a minute for temporary, no so fulfilling, satisfaction. You're basically just throwing $5 away, as you keep sipping looking for more, looking for a sip that will quench your thirst. But nothing. And people say coffee houses are expensive... Bottom line: I don't get KFT cravings, and the drinks here are simply okay. The line is always long, and the drinks are pricey. read more

During an afternoon of frantic shopping at Tysons Corner, my husband and I literally stumbled upon the Kung Fu Tea kiosk, which is located upstairs near the American Tandoor Restaurant. The line wrapped around the corner, and although we would normally shy away from groupthink-induced lines, we decided to give this one a whirl. Although our first option to order was a slush, we were told they weren't able to make slushes the day we stopped by, so we reluctantly opted for the cold taro milk tea with bubbles. The milk tea definitely exceeded our expectations and ordering it with less sugar, was definitely the way to go! I deducted one star for the whole standing-in-line-forever experience, and the fact they didn't have slushes that day, with no forewarning offered beforehand. Otherwise, I'm a fan! read more

I wanted to get a little snack and then I remembered that there was a Kung Fu Tea here. I went looking expecting to see an actual shop but I couldn't find it. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I realized that it's in a kiosk-like setup near the Auntie Anne's Pretzels. I went during the week and there was no line. I got the milk tea with boba, regular sweet and regular ice. It was pretty good and it didn't take long. The young girl taking orders was pleasant as were the other employees. Realistically, I wouldn't hike it to Tysons to get bubble tea but I do recommend checking it out should you find yourself in the area. read more

They only have the large size. That's probably my biggest complaint.. after that. Everything else is really good. They are speedy and efficient and they give out your money's worth of bubbles! I was very happy with that! We got the coffee milk with half the sweetness and bubbles. It was really good! But boy am I glad I got it with half sugar! I was surprised to see the Kung Fu Tea here is just a kiosk, but hey, clearly they know how to do things right if you find a decently sized line and mass of people seemingly standing in the middle of a random wing in the mall. Yep. Although the line was a bit long, it was still worth the 15 min wait. This location only serves the large size (~$4), which is understandable given the limited space, so I'm sure having less inventory to deal with makes things a lot easier on the employees. The guy at the register was friendly, polite, and efficient, and they had 3 other employees in the back making and preparing the drinks. Once you put your order in, the drinks are prepared quickly (~5 mins). I got a oolong milk tea with bubbles, and my bf ordered a peach oolong tea with bubbles. Toppings are an additional $0.50. The taste of the tea was just like what I've had in College Park and Rockville, and the bubbles were the right texture. They were also a bit stronger in flavor (longan and honey yumm) than what I was used to, but not a bad way! It's exciting to see how many KFT's have popped up in the past year or so, and I'm happy that Tysons has joined that list. read more

I came on a weekday, about closing time, about 9pm (the mall closes at 9:30pm). The boba is hard and not cooked well. I have this issue several times. At first I thought this was how the boba was cooked. But i tried different Kungfu locations (Annandale and Centerville). The boba was chewy and soft, not like jelly which tastes like plastic. Since then, i am not planning to come back. There are many others (SharedTea, Kokee, or Vivi). I gave 2 stars just because the location is convenient (its nice to have milk tea while going shopping). read more

They do not follow instructions on the cups, staff I have ordered from multiple times still have no idea what they are doing, they only offer one size, and offer less than typical stores. The place has a long time since it opened in the mall. I happened to stop by during a weekday and saw there was no line and decided to try it. It was good that they have both hot and cold options. More importantly, they have the proper disposable cups for both hot and cold drinks. Extra star just for that. I got the warm milk tea with boba. It was not better or worse than the ones I got at Jumbo Jumbo (Rockville, MD). Not sure what they do differently than the other bubble tea place because it took them much longer to make the tea. I probably wouldn't have the patience to stand in line to order, then wait some more to get the bubble tea. But that's just my own preference. It's a small kiosk in the middle of Tyson's Mall so I waited for almost 30 mins. for my taro milk bubble tea. The bubble tea itself was pretty good although it could've been a tad sweeter. It tasted a little watered down and I'm not sure if it's because they were extremely busy but for me it was pretty bland. I wish it had more of the taro taste! And now that they opened a kiosk in Tysons, I no longer have to trek to Annandale or Rockville to feed my bubble tea addiction. Yes, this Kung Fu Tea is just a kiosk at Tyson's. Yes, it's just an island in the sea of the mall. Yes, it is the only reason I come out to Tyson's from DC~ They only have one size here - Large, and four friendly workers. The girl at checkout is very sweet and always reminds us that you can't adjust the sweetness level in the drinks made with jam (peach, wintermelon, etc.) and some others, like almond milk tea. The lines are always a 10-15 minute wait but your drink comes out quickly after you've ordered. KFT is behind Auntie Anne's and the American Tandoor samples booth on the second level of the mall. There are tables to sit and chat in after sampling a few breads from Shilla. Always a great afternoon! The boba here isn't as good and soft as the Annandale location. The drinks are not prepared as carefully as the Annandale location either - too much boba, or too much ice in a "less ice" drink. The wintermelon tea is a tad too sweet with full jam, don't do that! The peach tea has peach bits, do that!! Also, the oolong milk tea is delicious, do that too!!! All in all, I am SO HAPPY there is metro-accessible boba!!!! read more

This KFT is located on the 2nd level of the Tyson's Corner Center Mall near Auntie Anne's Pretzel's. It took me a moment to find it since I was looking for a store vice a kiosk style area. Just like it's brick and mortar stores, Kung Fu Tea stays busy. On this busy Saturday afternoon the workers managed to keep up with the steady flow of customers. No military discount offered at this location and since it's so busy you'll have to make up your mind quickly so you're not holding up the line. They have a top ten list of most popular drinks if that'll speed up your decision making. This is a grab and go kind of set up so there are no seating areas and you can walk and sip but either way you'll have to keep it moving. I like KFT but based on the volume of customers they serve I think they'd fare better with more space as opposed to the workers being cramped into a tiny space cranking out orders. The promise of a tasty beverage is what will keep me coming back. read more

The menu at this Tyson's Kung Fu Tea location is limited to a smaller size. They also serve in large sizes only, but I can understand because of the small size of their kiosk. They make the drinks very quickly, so while the line might be long, it moves by fast and the cashier helps you order effiently and quickly. You can order your drink and be on your way. At other locations I normally wait quite a long while. I love to get the Honey Oolong Milk Tea with red bean with less honey. The cashier asked if I wanted to change sweetness & ice levels which was great because I forget to mention less honey sometimes. All the employees are so fast and friendly. They wipe my drink down,  call my number, and even ask if I needed a bag. Typically, the weekends are a bit busy but weekdays are a nice time to come pick up some fast boba tea to go! read more

Just as all Kung Fu Tea locations, your drink can be customized to our liking in terms of sugar content, amount of ice and toppings but the one difference here is that they only offer one size: large. I have to admit that I've felt very indifferent about bubble tea in the past ever since I was first introduced to it in undergrad which was waaaay back in the day (don't ask me what year that was) and thought it was good but nothing I would find myself craving for; but those days are long gone ever since I had my first sip of KFT recently at their Annandale location. You can actually taste the flavors of whatever tea you ordered and the boba is so soft and chewy. After tinkering with the sugar level, my perfect boba tea order is a large taro/black milk tea with less ice and less sugar. The line can be a bit daunting at this kiosk but it moves fairy quickly--you are given a ticket with your number on it and they will call out your number when the drink is ready.
