    Sesame Matcha Milk
    Amanda M.

I am pretty disappointed with this Kung Fu Tea. They said they don't have any medium sized drink cups even though the menu lists the price for it. So the only option is large and you have to pay extra ($1 more...). I wanted to try their sesame oolong that they have, but they didn't have that, so they suggested sesame matcha milk. Little did I know it's basically matcha powder + black sesame powder + milk + black sesame seeds. The black sesame over powered the matcha. Even if the drink looks green I tasted black sesame mainly. I'm a fan of black sesame but i really expected a balance between matcha & black sesame. Another thing is that my drink wasn't filled to the top even though I ordered a large sesame matcha milk and no alternations to the order like less ice. This Kung Fu Tea is located inside Pioneer Place. There isn't parking at the mall so you'll have to find street parking or garage parking.

While visiting Portland. This tea spot is inside the mall. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with no boba. It was good. Only one size was available, large.

I have had Kung Fu before and it is pretty good but this location, specifically, is just okay. Location: It is located in the mall in downtown Portland. There are a few parking structures near the mall and very limited street parking. Drinks: When I went, it was a Friday afternoon, and they were sold out of almost all their drinks minus their basic milk tea drinks. I am not too sure if this is a regular thing or if I just came at a bad time. I did have their yogurt orange drink and it was pretty good. Service: Service was also okay. Didn't seem like the workers wanted to be there, but can't blame them working on a Friday isn't always my number one choice either. However, they were able to make my drink pretty fast. Overall, it's an okay place if you are desperate for boba in the area.

I'd say it's more like 2.5. I had the hot sesame matcha. The sesame needs a bit more grinding cuz the seeds get into my teeth. Also, the matcha/sesame ratio isn't all quite there. I'd say the sesame overpowered the matcha and it's too sweet. It's more like sweet sesame drink. It was nice that the drink was hot and steaming and the large was a decent size. It's inside the mall in downtown. Only one person allowed to order inside and wait outside till your number is called. Nice they try to keep customers safe.

Greatest boba in Portland this far ! Great pricing ...extra extra boba !!! Fast and easy ordering . Takes Apple Pay

Large cup ~ essentially full of ice :/

Inside once a thriving glorious retail destination now a ghost mall, KF has the guts to come in during this Covid era. Yielding respect and good luck this year for that bold move. Unhappily, it comes with a disappointing visit. Only offering one size - large - for bubble tea is fine but the cup was essentially filled with ice to the top with the sparse jelly hard to find. Three employees making one tea drink. Took 10 minutes. We were the only customers in store.

It took me a while to locate them. They are on the bottom floor (below ground floor) inside the mall. I was honestly either very hungry or the tea and instant noodles were just both very tasty. The noodles were exceptionally good on a cold rainy day. ;)

A wall of delicious snacks to pair with your boba tea!

A wide menu of options to choose from. Being unadventurous when it comes to food and drink, I chose their basic iced milk tea with boba. Very yummy! Friendly service with a smile, too. Out of all the boba shops I have been to, this is the first one I've seen offer a variety of snacks to go with your boba. They had all manner of Asian crisps and chips, candy, and pocky. 10/10 will go back and probably try something more daring on their menu

So excited Kung Fu has made it to PDX! I have had it numerous times on the east coast and honestly this location is prime for me. With all the boba places opening in Portland, you basically are waiting more than a half hour for Boba especially on opening day. We actually went around noon so during lunch and it was opening day. We thought it would be a similar experience to when Ding Tea opened where the line would be out the door. Nope. We were in and out on 5 minutes. The drinks are also competitively price. 3.75 for medium and I think 4 for a large.

Love this whole new tea trend. Obviously a lot of people do. Young people, young managers, enforce your rules to stay safe, safety in this day and age is #1. This place was packed inside and kept getting worse. I was waiting outside, luckily I have had covid and I am vaccinated, I just hope no one loses a loved one due to a simple request. Otherwise it's like a Starbucks for tea.

Coming to downtown portland I was really craving a boba drink and I was satisfied with my purchase.

Coconut milk tea, light ice, 50% sweet, regular boba
    Shelley W.

The first time I tried Kung Fu was at their Hillsboro location and I had never had boba that was so perfectly chewy. I don't know exactly what it is about their boba but it seems like it has a hint of honey, and maybe that's the key to the perfect level of chewiness. My go-to is their coconut milk tea with light ice, 50% sweet and of course boba. I've toyed around with the sweetness and 100% sweet is just too much for me. This specific location is located on the bottom floor of Pioneer Place which is convenient and centrally located in the downtown Portland area. They have a ton of flavor options as well as different bases (milk tea, regular tea, blended, etc.). Definitely recommend this place if you're itching for some quality boba!

    Winter melon milk tea

Kung Fu Tea is by far the best boba place in Portland. I'm considering dropping my other reviews on boba places down a star because this place is just so outstanding in terms of quality and selection. While a franchise, I've never been to a Kung Fu Tea before and I was happily surprised to see such a wide variety of drinks, even though they are currently soft opening and don't have their full menu just yet. Kung Fu Tea offers a range of drinks, such as milk tea drinks, punch, yogurt based drinks, and my new favorite sweet treat, their Oreo "Wow Milk" drink, made with lactose-free milk, oreos, and a bunch of their absolutely fantastic boba. If you like Oreo shakes/McFlurries, this is definitely a drink you need to try. The tea itself tastes fresh and wasn't over-brewed. I've tried their honey oolong tea and their winter melon tea, and both were so refreshing on sunny afternoons. There are 6 or 7 different types of tea that will be available once Kung Fu Tea does their grand opening on July 16 (Important: They'll be offering buy one get one free drinks on that day!) and I can't wait to work my way through them...and the rest of the menu on that note. What really makes this place a standout, however, is the boba. It's the best. The tapioca balls tasted fresh and had the perfect balance of chewiness and softness. Even more importantly, the boba actually has flavor! They are soaked in honey, adding a wonderful amount of sweetness to otherwise flavorless tapioca (as most other places do). I will note that drinks definitely run on the sweeter side here. I like my drinks sweet, but I think I'm going to get 70% sweetness instead of 100% if I'm getting boba too. TLDR: If you're craving a sweet treat in liquid form, you'll definitely be able to satisfy your craving with the wide variety of drink offerings Kung Fu Tea. Check them out on July 16 for a buy one get one free special!

I needed to set the bar high from day one. Proud Mary on Alberta Street was my first move, and it provided a light but delicious first meal paired with great espresso drinks. (And I needed to set the bar high for coffee in town because this friend own her own coffee shop in LA) This is the kind of place I bring people to when I want to show off what this city does best a casual environment with interesting food that doesn't take itself too seriously, in a space that just feels right. I went with the oatmeal and a side of hash, (a hash that has such a unique texture that I think about it pretty often now I love a unique potato eperince) but execution of the seasonal flavors in the oatmeal surprise me every time in the best way. They pay so much attention to detail of he flavor and presentation and that makes even humble dishes feel more special. My friend ordered the spring omelette and it was simple, it could have used a bit more flavor or texture or even an additional protien source but it was good non the less. When our cappuccinos arrived first, I remembered this is an Australian-owned café. Served with a dusting of chocolate powder the way an "apparently" proper Aussie capp should be. Both cups were genuinely excellent. For vegetarians, the menu gives you real options with actual thought behind them and of course their are so many dishes with meat that everyone can love, so that's a huge win for me Who it's for: first-time Portland visitors, coffee lovers, anyone who wants a brunch spot that earns its reputation.
