    Assam Black Milk Tea

Assam Black Milk Tea Taste: Tastes as usual. Just like regular milk tea. Nothing fancy. Refreshing. The amount is good for the price. Boba: Good amount of boba. Tastes good too. Perfect sweetness.

This was such a cute spot! The whole facade of the building has a super cozy, almost woodland vibe. Inside, there is soft lighting and the smell of waffles. There's a little mercy stand to the side of the register, and a neon light photo op for those interested. Altogether, a very pleasant location. They do make you order on iPads, which I absolutely hate, but I know that many people don't mind. The menu is pretty large and very customizable-- you can make alterations to the milk, the sweetness, etc. I appreciated being able to get almond milk, and my partner said he much preferred the half sweet drink. I ended up choosing the Strawberry Milk Tea with tapioca pearls. It was very sweet, which was a plus for me but others may want to cut it down a bit. My partner ordered one of their special brown sugar drinks, and he said it was excellent. There was not much seating, but we took ours to-go so it wasn't an issue. I will definitely return, if only to try the waffles! They smelled amazing, but we didn't have the chance to taste.

This is for BoBaTaLe Tea House (1411 NE Broadway, Portland, OR 97232). I searched for "BoBaTaLe Tea House," but this was the only result that popped up, so I didn't realize the name was actually different. ‼Bobacat Tea House (1924 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97201) and BoBaTaLe Tea House seem like two different shops on google maps, but somehow this app mixed them together. I dont know what's going on here. My first time trying boba tea in Portland! Portland is a somewhat white city to me and I was a bit worried about the authenticity of the boba. But I saw this cute shop with a 4.9 out of 5 rating on google map, so I had to try it. The moment I stepped inside, I immediately smelled the warm brown sugar scent. Ordering at the kiosk made customizing my drink so much easier, very introvert friendly! We got the Bobatale milk tea and the Assam milk tea, both with less sugar. We also tried the matcha boba waffle. In short, all were good. I swapped the Bobatale milk tea for oat milk and added cream cheese on top. The boba was perfectly cooked, not slimy or undercooked, and had a light sweetness. The milk tea was on the lighter side, probably because of the oat milk. The less sugar level is perfect for me, sweet enough to enjoy as a treat after hike, but not so sugary that it overpowered the tea flavor. The matcha waffle was honestly better than I expected. It wasn't too sweet, the outside was nicely crunchy, and it didn't leave any grease on my fingers.

3.5 / 5 stars This location is now called BoBaTale Tea house. It is garden level so it is a few steps down from the sidewalk by steps. Not handicap accessible/no ramp in the front. The interior is really cozy and soft lighting. There are tables and benches both inside and out, or you can grab-and-go. There are self-order kiosks as well as a counter to order at. The menu is really large with a variety of classic, specialty, and seasonal offerings plus many differing toppings. Pros are that you can customize multiple ice levels and sweetness/sugar levels of your drinks, and the tea was flavorful. Con is that the if you want to add or change anything it's a significant upcharge. Adding boba was $1. Almond milk was $1. What started as a $5.75 Assam black milk tea with no cream cheese topping ended up being $9 which is a lot for a bubble tea treat.

Consistently good drinks, specifically their fruit teas. Order through a tablet upon arrival. I love this method (especially on those anti-social days) PLUS it means the bobaristas can fully focus on making drinks which means quicker service. Cute, aesthetic place, with limited seating. The ceilings are a little low if you're being picky but overall a nice ambiance to enjoy a drink. Vast menu with many options, including seasonal offerings. Located on a street with various other restaurants and dessert options.

    Bobacat Milk Tea

Had a few options for boba but honestly went with Bobacat because of the cute name and logo. I saw the cups at the other location and liked them but was slightly bummed that they use a different logo here. Regardless, was pretty happy with the drinks. Ordered a few for the kids who enjoyed them but opted for their specialty Bobacat myself. Bobacat Milk Tea - classic black milk tea. Creamy with the sea salt foam and higher ratio of milk. Tea was present but not strong. Solid boba with good flavor and a strong chew. Safe choice for a basic boba drinker but nothing spectacular compared to typical classic or house milk teas.

Bonus: free 1-2 hours street parking, nice and roomy coverage for outdoor space, plenty of eateries on the same street and walking distance. Pros: drinks starting at $4.75 with no topping which is cheaper than most boba tea places. Friendly services! Extensive selection of topping and quick snacks. Cons: topping is $1.00 each with much smaller portions than usual boba tea places I have been frequent. The waffle also is smaller than normal. I got the coconut waffle, $6.25. I was told all waffles have vanilla base then added flavors of whatever they offer. I barely tasted the coconut flakes flavor; I wished it was more flavorful and tastier. P.Y. Provides toilet seat covers!

My kids like boba, I am somewhat reluctant fan. I will go if they really want to but not really my scene. I did enjoy this place, very close to some of the other places I go to. I liked the inside vibe, kind of warm and woodsy with cats. The staff was pleasant and I enjoyed the boba I got, assam milk tea with brown sugar jelly. I wish they had other milk besides whole but that's just my lactose intolerant self talking and could have ordered the alternative milks. Cute place, would go again. And the name is no longer Bobacat? Their sign said Boba Tale.

Tried Bobacat for the first time and it did not disappoint!! The teas were delicious and we got bubble waffles as well as some other snacky foods. All delicious!! The ladies working were so kind and the service was fast! To top it off, the vibes were 10/10. All the cat decor was so cute and the inside fit Portland vibes perfectly. Would definetly recommend this spot if you're in the Portland area!!!!

    Honey Citron Ginger Tea

I absolutely loved the option to do no sweetener in the drinks! The honey citron ginger tea with grass jelly was soooo perfect for me & seriously my dream drink. The buns were just OK but even an OK bun is really good! I loved the chill atmosphere and the light wood color seating area as well. You order on a kiosk and then your drink comes out at the counter but the ladies behind the service were very friendly and still spoke even though they didn't have to.

Drinks were excellent, toppings were all the perfect texture, however, the drinks run sweet. I've been here a few times now. The store recently rebranded to be "bobatale" instead of "bobacat" but all the drinks still remain the same. Really cute space, located next to my favorite Thai restaurant as an added bonus. There are limited inside and outside seating as well as a bathroom inside. The store is kept clean and ordering is through an iPad. In my opinion, the drinks are quite pricey compared to other places but they seem consistent with their quality. My drinks always come out pretty fast, about 2-5 minutes after ordering. Just make sure you adjust the sweetness level though.

Bobcat did not show up prominently in my first search for a place to get coffee or tea in the vicinity. We happened to walk past it on our way to a "chain coffeehouse," and we decided we'd rather patronize this business. The interior is small but with enough tables and chairs inside (and a few chairs outside) to accommodate folk. The decor is cute and, well, catty. Ordering at one of their kiosks is very easy. The drinks are reasonably priced, though I felt that the water based drinks are slightly better than the milk based ones (like my Thai tea, though it was indeed delicious). We also got some custard buns on which to snack, those were fresh and delicious. This is a great alternative to the chain coffeehouses surrounding the place.

This place was packed on a Sunday morning and the inside was beautiful living up to the country vibes of the restaurant. Staff is super friendly and had really good recommendations. Still a very good steak and sausage gravy. Either the steak breading of the sausage gravy was maybe a touch more salty than usual. The eggs were disappointing- scrambled eggs should be fluffy due to constantly stirring over low heat in a pan - and previously they always had been. This time they were a overcooked dense, dry puck, It was as if the egg mixture was poured out on the flattop, left and flipped once. Still eatable with hot sauce. Over all - they did hit a ball, but definitely no home run. It's unlikely that I'll be back.
