We tried the s'mores slush and were pleasantly surprised with the marshmallow-y, graham cracker crumbs of deliciousness in a cup. I liked that you can customize the sugar content. The Caramel Macchiato Slush tasted like a candy bar in a cup. The slushes were a great cool treat for summer. Watch out for the sealed top, one of ours was not sealed properly and spilled a bit all over the floor. I liked the wall mural and themed artwork. I am a long time customer and most of the time I just order in store but decided to order mobile this time. Ordered a hot drink tonight and got it cold. (Waited for 20 minutes, by the way). The employee told me it was because it sat around for too long ... Ugh basic science that no liquid could go from 95 degrees to room temperature by sitting on the counter in a warm room for a few minutes. I told her it was not my problem, and another employee was nice enough to make me a new one but he ended up telling me there was some machine issue and can't make it hot after he attempted the second cup. I asked for a refund since the drink I ordered was not supposed to be lukewarm and they were not able to fix the issue. By that time we were already 30 minutes in the shop and still didn't get my drink or refund. The manager came out accusing me right way that he didn't appreciate I yelled at his employee. To be clear, he was not in the store earlier. He only said this because apparently the first employee was upset, and twisted the situation by accusing me of giving her an attitude. This is mind blowing to me. I was perhaps upset (yes, after wasting 30 minutes) but definitely didn't yell. Her reaction was bizarre because I barely interacted with her since I was mostly talking to the second employee who helped me with the second drink and refund request. I was very surprised how someone can manipulate the situation just like that and treat their customer unfairly. I mean.. bottom line , if a customer is not satisfied because of the failure of the product , is it the customer's problem? Why do you put it on the customer?is it too much to ask? or if your machine is broken, why finding excuses by saying it sat out too long, and being frustrated when I called that out? And to the manager who is rightfuly protective of their employee, before you place a blame on customer (really??), should not you investigate the situation first? Just because someone is upset (in this case your employee ), it doesn't make them the victim or make them right automatically. If being straightforward and asking for the right product is being called "yelling" and "bitching around", how did that make a customer feel? Attitude? Didn't I have the right to appear upset after the fact that I wasn't able to get the right hit drink and wasn't told upfront there was a machine issue? What else do you expect ? " sorry, honey I waited for too long and it's still not right. It's my fault and I should just suck it up and leave."?! I ended up getting the refund and apologies from the manager after explanation. But the employee who's upset came out and yelled at me (wow again so bizarre). We ordered a wintermelon tea, with 0% sugar, but the flavor itself comes in a syrup form so it's already sweetened. Honestly with ZERO added sugar and added ice, it's still like 50% sweetness level to me. I've tried a lot of bubble tea shops in the area, but this one stands out by far. The brown sugar milk tea is perfectly balanced--not too sweet and super creamy. Was so excited Kung Fu Tea opened in the suburbs. They are one of my favorite boba tea places in Chinatown. We went on a Saturday evening and there was a steady line of customers, but their customer service was extraordinary. They were so kind and polite. I tried the Coffee Wow Milk Cap. The coffee was rich and bold, but not too strong. The milk cap provided creamy richness, resulting in a smooth coffee. The boba does not fail and is sweet and fresh. I am excited to try many of their new seasonal specials. If you try ordering on the app , it may say this location is closed after 8 p.m., because it is based on NY time, but they are open. A new bubble tea/ milk tea place in Rolling Meadows gets the win! Their grand opening was quite generous, with a BOGO on select teas and punches. I got the Kung Fu Milk Tea and was able to add the bubble tea. It had a great flavor of earl grey. You can select how much sugar and ice you get in your drink. I was able to tailor it without feeling like a jerk! They also seal it so you can take it to go, which is great! This is a family business and they are EFFICIENT! Came in on New Year's Day which was also Sunday late afternoon and this place was extremely crowded. They don't have enough machine and people to keep up. I placed 1 mango smoothie order and it took 30 minutes to receive. Way too long to get ONE smoothie. They should prioritize single orders because likely those are expected to be quick while larger group orders there is usually an understanding for longer wait time to make. At one point they had about dozen of people lined up against the wall who already paid waiting for their order. IMO, if this was the way they should have notified you at the time you placed your order that it would be half an hour wait at least, like any other restaurant takeout process. Just set the expectations for your customers, we would appreciate it versus just taking people's money and ringing out their credit cards faster than they can actually service. It's just poor service management. I kept thinking should I just walk out and forgo my order. I had kids in the shop waiting with me and family members waiting in the car but I was pot committed. Plus, by then I wanted to see how long it would actually take them to make one smoothie (not even with bobba) so I clocked them and had time to write this review while waiting. When I finally got my order it was a mini 1 sec quick, "thanks for waiting". The girl said it so quick and turned herself around without making eye contact I think she gave herself whiplash. Oh and for the price, the M (smallest size) was quite small. I should have gone to Tropical Smoothie which probably would have been a third of the wait and double the size. I am now wary of bubble tea places like this. Next time I see a line here, I am walking out. (Note to self pay attention to lines of people WAITING for their orders after it's been placed. The order line was fine because they can process that quickly and they end up backing themselves up). Rating 2 stars for total experience because the mango smoothie was tasty but the time value to come here was not worth it ($6.33 with tax for smallest size without any other add on's). My kids and I finished the smoothie quicker than the time it them to actually make it. Went here since it's close enough to grab some drinks, and drive over to Busse woods for a nature walk. The selection is pretty sizable with different milk teas, milk foam topped drinks, and slushes. I went with a coffee milk tea with milk foam on top, and it was pretty good. My friend went with taro milk tea, and said it tasted nothing like taro. It is pretty inconvenient that there is a $10 minimum on card purchases. I would come back again to try the different drinks they have if I'm passing by. Coming here was a bit of a rollercoaster. When we went to order we had a coupon and weren't able to use it unless we downloaded the app, loaded money and used that app to make the purchase. We followed those steps but the minimum to load money was $25. All 3 of us made this mistake and only realized after the fact. We had to go through hoops with customer service through the app to get our money back as no one in the shop was able to help us. After all that this is we ordered: * 2 Kungfu milk teas (one person rated it a 9/10 and the other a 6/10) * Wintermelon tea with mango jelly. They mistakenly added herbal jelly to my drink which was super bitter and slimy. It ruined the whole drink. 2/10. Overall I have no idea. They have lots of flavored tea. Another hangout place. Yea small but clean. I took my kids there and you know with kids they are more picky in terms of what they want to add to the drink. What happened was one kid ordered a drink that had some toppings included but he wanted another toppings. I ordered 2 drinks and I asked if they could put the toppings of one drink to the other. I can't believe there's a boba tea place next to my favorite sushi restaurant! I downloaded the Kung Fu Tea app to look at their menu. They have a good selection of drinks like milk tea, fruit tea, coffee, and slushies! I added the drinks the day before and it was still in the check out cart the day after. Right when we walked in we were greeted with a huge smile and welcome. I already knew I wanted the brown sugar milk tea but this was the best one Ive had thus far. The brown sugar balls were so soft and caramel-y. It was sooooo good! I came here because I was in town and it was close by where I was staying. This place is fantastic. The selection and quality of the drinks is so good! I got a strawberry lemonade green tea with popping boba and it was too good! The lemonades are made there and you can taste a little bit of the pulp; they are super delicious! It was so good I went back the next day and got the grapefruit tea it was good but I didn't like it as much as I liked the lemonades. My friend got coffee/espresso based teas both times with tapioca and said they were fantastic I really really liked the quality, taste, and selection. This location was good for the first couple months then it just tanked. For the most part the drinks are consistent so I go 1-2 times a month. Over time the wait gets longer and longer. Last time I was here it took 20 minutes. This time it took 30 for 3 drinks and got my order wrong. KFT guarantees to make incorrect orders right but not waiting another 30 min for my drink. I thought this was my first visit to a Kung Fu Tea.  But it wasn't cuz my wonderful Yelp reviews reminded me that I had visited the Chinatown location exactly 6 and 1/3 years ago.  I knew Yelp had some value, and there you go - for me, it's my food diary among other things.  Anyway this location is perty new at only 2 months old, and we were enticed in with a $3 off promo.  We're not big on bubble teas but I can see where it could become habit forming if you find some favorite flavors.  After studying the dizzying menu, I settled on a somewhat conventional KF coffee milk tea with tapioca.  I really liked that on the app as well as in person, you can specifically customize the sugar and ice content, and not feel nit-picky.  It's clearly shown as Steps 3 and 4 on their menu board as well.  Maybe that's the way it should be at their premium prices.  So, pretending to be expert, I did less sugar (30%) and no ice. The drink was ready 6 minutes after ordering off the app during this weekday lunch hour. It was a fun and refreshing drink although the coffee flavor was kinda faint.  Now I'm wondering if I can ask for little or no ice without being laughed at on a Starbucks' Frappuccino, which for us would be their main premium snack-drink competition.  May be back, but for sure if there's another promo. read more

Really enjoy the texture of the boba here. It is soft and chewy. I like how you can customize your sweetness level depending on the drink or your taste preference. They also have different add ins like jelly, which my kids enjoy. The staff was helpful when I had questions about the different beverages. I like how they offer non-caffeinated fruit beverages as well. My go to is the Kung Fu green milk tea with boba (30% sweetness). It's a Kung Fu Tea. Not much to say about it! KFT is the McDonald's of bubble tea here in the states, but unlike McDonald's, bubble tea isn't as ubiquitous so most people have to take what they can get when it comes to boba. I will say, KFTs closer to the city provide what I would describe as a "typical" KFT experience; not exceptionally friendly staff, adequate service, and, in the case of Evanston, for example, extreme cost cutting and understaffing leading to ridiculous wait times. This KFT on Algonquin Road gets 5 stars from me as they employ younger, friendlier staff, and while they don't have food, it's also a blessing considering how much KFT locations with food affect the turnaround times for orders. There's also plenty of great food options in the area so if you need food, go somewhere else. The only negative experience I've had in the handful of times I've been to this KFT was yesterday, when me and my friend both ordered almond milk teas, and neither of them came with the almond syrup that is standard to the recipe. (source: I used to work at KFT Evanston myself lol) I absolutely hate asking for food service workers to redo an order but the tea was so bland without any sort of sweetener and it was basically just water with milk powder. We gently asked if they could add the syrup back in, and a guy that I assume was some sort of shift leader or manager, apologized for the mistake and remade the drinks himself. The second iterations of the drinks were perfect, and there was no fuss, no issue, and no charge for the new drinks. I appreciate that! To conclude, you know what you're getting when you go to a KFT, and while this KFT isn't anything super special, it does rank a notch above the other ones that provide significantly poorer quality experiences. read more

These individuals must not have a clue how boba tea is nowadays, nor do they have the common sense to know the difficulties and challenges in opening any business , let alone a boba tea shop - Kung Fu Tea - one of the most popular brand in the U.S. I'd love to see these people open-up one of these, and if I was the owner, I'd invite these people and pay them to do this job just for one day on a weekend. Having the pleasure of even being in a Kung Fu in the suburbs is a blessing. It's rare enough to have one of these in our state. If you cannot be grateful of that, then you might need to do some research on their chain. Common sense tells you that if a business is packed with people and long a** lines, it's the real deal, does it not? Good job for the owner and workers.
