I should have known the food would have dubious quality when I saw the spread of cuisines and dishes available to order. This place is walking distance from my house and I'm going to have to go every day I got the spicy chicken miso with a side of extra noodles and a cream cheese rangoons my total was $22. I really am glad I was led to this place! If there is a random Asian-ish food that you can think of, they have it here. From kung pao chicken to pad Thai, from random sushi rolls to spring rolls... they have it here. Seriously... The menu is huge! Friends and I had chicken katsu with curry, Malaysian noodles, and I mostly had the unagi bowl. The bowl was excellent. Full of eel, advocato, seaweed, veggies, all over rice. It was so flavorful and delicious. And afterwards, I wanted more! Next time I go, I want to try their sushi and see how it holds up. I also want to try more of the appetizers. The eating area is plain but lots of tables. Employees were friendly and we later learned they were Burmese immigrants. I don't eat "Asian Fusion" but my neighbor B loves this place so we hit it tonight. I thought it was a sit down restaurant but it's an "order at the counter" place & they deliver to your table. B orders either Orange Chicken or Teriyaki Chicken every time - he's a creature of habit, for sure. Since I've been sick (no not CV-19), I got the Miso Ramen. It took at least 15 minutes for it to be ready while B got his order & I had my Edamame to start. I even got up to check to see if they'd forgotten. The menu does not list what ingredients are in each dish, just the name of the dish. Major omission b/c most people like to know exactly what they're eating. Mine was a huge surprise: I had no idea there would be an egg & pork belly in it. The pork belly was too fatty & flavorless for my liking & I could have done w/o it. I think the egg might have been quail? but not really sure. The dish was also not very hot (temperature), but I knew if I sent it back, it would take even more time & I was famished. I ate it hot when I got home, packaging was top tier (noodles separate from broth so it doesn't get soggy- they think of everything!) they also added my fork, chop sticks and napkins in my bag so i didn't have to worry about it! I didn't ask for it either, I got home and found it in my bag. Heat level if anyone is concerned....basically, I wouldn't be! If you can handle Hot Cheetos, you can handle this! Inside of the restaurant was clean and spacious! The kitchen is basically an open kitchen. You could probably see the cook if you just stand up. I'd most definitely go back. This is not a table service type of spot, this is order at the counter and go find a booth / takeout spot. I liked that they let me basically do whatever I wanted with the dish. Take out this ingredient, swap chicken for tofu type of changes; they were definitely accommodating to dietary changes like that, which is good since I do not eat meat or things cooked with animal products such as fish sauce; which is pretty common in Asian fusion cuisines. I've ordered takeout a couple times now, I honestly don't see myself dining in here since the dining area is set up more like fast food than a casual dining experience. Central Phoenix has not had many choices for Asian-inspired cuisine, so this new restaurant is a very welcome addition to the dining scene of the area. The restaurant is spacious, brightly lit and very clean, the staff is friendly and the offerings are very affordable. I tried their pork katsu with curry; both the pork and the rice came in generous portions, overlain with a very flavorful mild onion curry sauce. I also had the salmon roll, which was well-prepared and fresh-tasting as expected. On a second visit I ordered the Mongolia beef bowl; it was packed with flavor with a bit of a spicy kick. We tried out a spicy tuna roll, shrimp chow mein, Mongolian beef bowl and house fried rice. Everything has a delicious smoke flavor from the wok. The shrimp chow mein was fresh, not salty, had crunchy bean sprouts, cabbage, scallions and onions. The noodles were cooked to the perfect texture. Mongolian beef bowl had a great garlic ginger flavor without it being too sweet. I have been searching for a delicious house fried rice and I'm happy to say I finally found it! The rice had the perfect texture and flavor. I highly recommend it. The spicy tuna roll was a fresh and refreshing start to our meal. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. By far the worst food I've ever consumed in my entire life. To start off, the person at the counter could not understand anything I was asking him, I asked 3-4 times "how is the katsu with curry" and each time he just said "yes we have that". So I just dismissed the whole interaction and ordered a combo plate with broccoli beef, kung pao shrimp and fried rice. My girlfriend got the tuna poke bowl and she was really looking forward to it. The food was ready super fast. I had sat down for 1 minutes after ordering then got up to sanitize my hands and before I could sit back down the food was already done, which i thought was odd but maybe they're just fast cooks. I opened the plate to see the smallest portion of beef and shrimp ever. Probably 5 pieces of beef and 4 pieces of shrimp. And everything was just DRENCHED in soy sauce and tasted the same. The shrimp and beef were extremelyyyy overcooked and hard to chew, the shrimp legitimately felt like biting into beef jerky. And to try and compensate for the small portions, they give you a huge mountain of "fried rice." Quotations because the fried rice is just plain rice, no egg or any type of veggies in it, just rice with a slight tint of soy sauce. I'm pretty sure they microwaved the whole plate because of how tough the meat was and you can easily tell when rice has been reheated in a microwave. Thinking back, I know for a fact they microwaved the plate because our order was ready in under 3 minutes and nothing looked even close to fresh. My girlfriend took one bite of her poke bowl and threw it away. She said nothing tasted right and that her bowl (meant to be served cold) became extremely hot probably due to my microwaved combo plate being bagged with it. The only thing that was edible was the broccoli. The food was absolutely horrible. Looking at the older reviews, there must've been a change in ownership because as cliche as it sounds, I wouldn't even let my dog eat this food. I honestly never leave reviews even if I don't like something because I don't want to tear someone's name down but this was just unacceptable. My family owns a Chinese restaurant of 15+ years and coming from someone who grew up in that environment my whole life, experiencing this was a disgrace. read more
