First, this is not a "drop in" sushi place for the noisy American family of four. It's not a revolving sushi store. I'd recommend a reservation. It's also not an upscale, suit and tie, place. Come as you are. I'd just get the omakase. Chef's choice. You'll get a wide variety is fine sushi and you'll have a comfortable portion in your stomach. Hot house sake is great too or the plum wine. Dessert, house crème brûlée is great!! Service is great. If you want your server to be "warm and friendly" go to Denny's. Service is professional, knowledgeable and as attentive as you need. There is no constant checking in on your satisfaction. Thank god.

Kurisaki is a very good sushi restaurant in the South Bay. It tends to serve more traditional sushi (primarily nigiri and sashimi, with some very basic rolls and small cold and hot dishes). To me, it fills a spot between your higher end sushi places (like Sushi Inaba or Sushi Sonagi), your non-traditional omakase places (like Bar Sushi Hermosa), and your more Westernized places that offer lots of non-traditional rolls (like Flying Fin and Japonica). It's closest comparison is Sushi Chitose or even Sushi Nozomi (although both have larger menus). Food: The sushi is fresh and well prepared, albeit straightforward and typical. The size of the nigiri is smaller, but the fish to rice ratio is appropriate. Service: The service is friendly, but can sometimes be a little slow with a single server. Bottom Line: A solid sushi restaurant that serves good sushi. It doesn't have a large menu, and the food is relatively simple and straightforward. Again, it tends to be a more traditional sushi restaurant. Kurisaki does offer an omakase menu which was approximately $125 when I was last there. Some may think this expensive for what you get, but it is reasonable when you consider that many omakase menus now run in the high $200's and low $300's.

Coke float. This hit the spot and I definitely recommend!

The server, Carlitos, was attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend this place for their food, cleanliness and hospitality.

Kurisaki has grown to be my favorite for sushi restaurant in Southern California. Chef Kurisaki takes great care in the preparation and we tried his Omakase and each piece was carefully prepared and presented. Although he has trained at Matsuhisa his style is not similar. He presented sushi that is classic Japanese as if you are in Japan. The food kept coming out and we were very full afterwards and the price point was proper as well. His wife will seat you and be your server. He prepares and she serves. The food is delicious and top rate. Thank you Chef Kurisaki for creating a place for a delicious meal.

This is an incredible sushi place. The food is authentic, fresh, and a cut above other establishments. We tried Hokkaido Uni for the first time, and it's delicious! The service is friendly. The mood is clean and simple. Great for a date or small party when you want amazing food and don't want to feel rushed!

Excellent service. Small simple restaurant. Menu options limited. Mostly mainstream sushi items. Everything is fairly pricey for sushi but my wife thought tht execution was good for most dishes except the shrimp tempura. The battery didn't have a airy crisp. All in all they are good but not so good that I will say they are a must go. Parking available behind the restaurant.

Wow! Amazing 1. Staff My wife made reservations. As we walk in..."You won't be here more than an hour and a half?" Wtf? I beg your pardon!? Look, if I'm going to drop $200+ on dinner, I will decide how long I take. F you for stressing me out. So -1 star ( by the way, we left before the aforementioned time and the place was still empty) 2. Food Absolutely amazing! I lived in Yokohama and I've got to say that the sushi here is absolutely amazing! You pay a Premium but you get premium food! I can't say enough as how good it was! 3. Ambiance The sushi bar no longer allows folks at the bar. It's all table service The parking behind the restaurant is.... Weird. Not sure where I should have parked. The music is jazz. But did I mention the food? Dear heavens, mortgage your kids, go here ! The food is sublime. Amazing! We're it not for a snarky waitress it would be full stars and worth every penny! (And I speak Japanese, by the way, and still was put off by the staff!) This is my new go to sushi bar !

One of my favorites in the South Bay. First time trying this sushi restaurant and had the omakase. High quality fish and presentation was very nice. The restaurant has a nice casual vibe and service was excellent.

Our absolute favorite sushi restaurant in South Bay by far! It's not cheap... We only go on special occasions or on our date nights. We always get their sushi omakase. Every course is SUPERB and most if not all of their fish comes from Japan. Service is always excellent, each course is timed perfectly and the fish just melts in our mouth! There's parking in the back but space is limited. Street parking always works too~ The only negative is that we miss sitting at the bar... They got rid of the bar seating during Covid and never brought it back.. LAst time we visited, they said they weren't bringing it back..

Friendly staffs. Came here to have dinner with my girlfriends. Had some beer and hot sake. Good quality, fresh fish. Will def come back.

Empty yet still wouldn't be seated without a reservation. Perhaps they should note that on Yelp or at the front door.

I have had better crunch rolls from other sushi joints. It was not bad or anything but I just wasn't wow'd by it like the oh my geisha roll. Top Secret: The roll that you do not know what it is. I like surprises. It was not great. I believe they put a sliver of lime on the top of the roll that gave it a way too face forward citrus punch to the tongue. I didn't like it. No sauce or ginger helped it. Service was good, they were clearly understaffed as the 2 women were running around crazy, checking out tables, seating guests and dropping off plates. The ambiance is nice, the employees are very friendly and loud. It is a very casual sushi spot. Parking is of course atrocious in riveria village, it's metered. There's seating indoor and outdoor.
