When I told them it was a lot less, the two men behind the counter got an attitude with me. They didn't even reset my oil filter light. The Kwik Kar on Matlock in Arlington is HORRIBLE. My boyfriend and I both recently bought Groupons to get their full service oil change at a reduced price of $19, which is only $5 cheaper than the place I normally go but I thought I'd give this place a shot because it's close to home and offers more for your money (or so I thought!). When my boyfriend tried to redeem his Groupon, they tried to upsell him on several services and features. When he declined them, they showed horrible customer service, treated him poorly, and made him wait hours for his oil change. He ended up leaving before getting his free car wash because they said it would be a another 30 minute wait, simply because they didn't want to move another finished car out of the wash bay. That's poor service. Then when we try to redeem my Groupon for an oil change and inspection, they failed my inspection because they said my lugnuts don't match! "Mismatched" in the inspection book refers to the threading- not the outward appearance! (I know because we called the DPS state inspector about it and he said that's crap). They wanted to charge me $171 to replace all lugnuts to make them match. Instead, we drove the car over to another shop and had them replaced for $20. When we finally take the car back to get the sticker, they tell us that now there's some other reason it won't pass... come on! Why wouldn't you tell us in the first place instead of wasting our entire day going back and forth?? Of course we have to pay for the inspection ahead of time, so now I'm stuck doing whatever they say to do until it passes. This place is all about the upsell and trying to rip you off. Kwik Kar- If you didn't want people to take advantage of a good deal with Groupon, you shouldn't have done it! All I wanted was an oil change and inspection. Wish I had seen review # 1 before buying my Groupon. I love Groupon, and they are now aware of how bad this place is. I bought the Groupon for a mini-detail. After 2 1/2 hours, my car looked good on the outside, but you could smell it a mile away. They sprayed enough Vanilla vomit smell in it to kill a horse. I didn't want to get in. I asked the guy to rewash the carpet and upholstery and get the smell out. Little did I know that they didn't do that anyway. He said it had to wear off. I have asthma, and with a 30 min drive in front of me, I didn't think I could make it home breathing. Went to Walgreens across the street and bought the biggest Febreze they had. Sprayed it everywhere. It was not very effective. Made it home with my head hanging out the window on a cold day, as all windows had to be down in order to catch a breath. The odor was intense and disgusting. Started wiping down the car to get the wet Febreze off of the dashboard, and the first paper towel came up black. I have a grey interior, or I would have caught that they did not clean one thing in the car. They vacuumed the front only and did not lift the floor mats. Nothing was done in the back seat. Started really looking at the car. Bird poop on the truck was not even washed off. Looked to me like the car had been run through a carwash, rinsed with no spot rinse and then sprayed inside with Armor-All. They brushed the wheels & sprayed the tires with Armor-All. My guess is 15 minutes on the car, or 10. 2 hours later, I had cleaned the car, but the smell remained. This is day 2, and nothing will eliminate the smell. It will have to be professionally shampooed to get the odor out. Groupon gave me a refund. I told my 2000+ followers on Facebook. Now you know. Full price charge for what I bought is $80! I paid $30, and trust me, it was a disaster. It will cost me plenty to get that odor out for one thing. Never go there. You will be sorry. read more

I normally bring my cars to walmart to get oil changes but I decided to get somewhere near my house. Kwik kar is $15 more than Walmart but totally worth it. They vacuumed the floors and chairs of my car, they changed my oil and cabin air filter in about 20 mins. They were nice and informative and even drove my car up to the door so I wouldn't get wet in the rain. read more

I would give this place no stars if I could. I went in for an oil change, transmission flush and new headlamps. Six hours later they tell me that they will need to run diagnostics on my electrical system because the headlights will not work and it will cost me another $99, plus another hour. I said absolutely not, paid and finally went to auto zone and bought two head lamps. Got home, put them in and TADA, I have lights. This place is a fraud and a joke. I loved the Kwik Kar in Grapevine when I lived there so I decided to try this place out. The staff here are very poor communicators. Twice, I have taken my car in to get an oil change and asked them to replace a fog light bulb. Both times, the fog light bulb was not installed. The second time, when I asked about it, they said there wasn't enough time. That's fine, but you need to tell me that earlier. I should not find that out as I'm paying to leave. If you can't perform a requested service, you should let the customer know. Also, the level of service here is far below what I became accustomed to at the shop in Grapevine. read more

I took my truck to get new brakes and my first mistake was not shopping around!! They quoted me a price of $500 and me not knowing that is extremely high decided to go ahead and have them change them. I got a phone call that the rotors could not be reconditioned of course, which I knew was going to happen before they even called, so that added another $160 to the price. I told them to just change the break pads because by now I realized I was getting completely ripped off and of course they couldn't because he damaged the rotor trying to get it off. 4 1/2 hours later I went and pick it up.. $595.00 for a basic break job. I sucked it up since it was my fault again for not shopping around, I found a coupon online for $50 off and service of $500 but of course they wouldn't except it because it was for participating locations only (did not say that anywhere on the coupon) the lady said they already gave me a break on the labor (which I would like to know how since labor was $379.00) and they could give me $25 off... I was extremely disappointed in the whole experience. I nor my family and I hope my friends will ever go back to this place!!! Highway robbery!!! read more

Takes forever for the water to come on once you put your money in even though it's taking time off of what you've paid. When you switch the dial to presoak or soap sometimes it takes almost a minute or more for it to come on the meanwhile you're paying for the minute. So not the best car wash. This place is run by crooks. I wish I would have read the first review before trying to get my oil changed here. I also wish there was a zero rating, they don't even deserve a one. First of all, I get there and I have to stand out in the parking lot and wait for someone to come out and help me for like 10 minutes even though there are 6 people working and there is only one car in the shop. They were mostly standing around or talking on their cell phones. I drive a Beetle and so I have to have synthetic oil which is more expensive, usually around $50. These people took my car and then called me outside so they could tell me that a synthetic oil change and filter was going to cost me NINETY DOLLARS. Are you kidding me?! I am a female, yes, but this is not my first oil change ever. It offended me that they thought I was dumb enough to pay NINETY DOLLARS for an oil change. I laughed as I saw the sign behind the desk, "If you have good service tell your friends. If not, then tell the manager." this is probably a common issue for these people. Never going there again. I suggest you don't either. I ended up going to Autozone to buy the oil and filter which cost me $35. I'll be doing it myself. PS, classy people working there. After I came back inside and told my boyfriend that they were trying to charge me NINETY DOLLARS for an oil change we left and he started talking loudly enough to where the guys could hear about how ridiculous that is to which a chunky Hispanic man yelled, "shut up!" On Wednesday 8/20/14 i go to Kwik Kar on 5333 Matlock to get some antifreeze in my car. About 45 minutes later he came out and told me that the system was run on it and the needles it not move ans . he said he sucked out 1.7 of what i had in there and he put in 2.2 antifreeze in there but my air was still blowing hot air and i needed to take it to a dealership to see whats was wrong.I pay $110.00 and left. went 15 to my boyfriends house and he (Chris who is a full certified mechanic in every aspect of the auto field)and unavailable when i needed him at the time. Chris asked me how it went . I told him i still had hot air he went out side and looked at it. and called and talk to both the manager and the tech and there stories conflicted with each others. come to fine out. they lied and didn't put anything in. and THEY CHARGED FOR NO SERVICE.They told us to come back up there and they would fix it. we went back up there immediately. when we got there the manager was talking to Chris . Chris asked if the text was certified she said "yes" but when asked if we could see the certification she refused to show it. and come ti fine out they didn't even do the proper legal documentation the first time. i gave my keys to the manager and they pulled my car in. as we were waiting i was talking to a Custer who was still there from the first time i was there. we were talking about the bad "service". and the owner came out of no were and asked us to leave. Chris asked why he said because i was talk badly about the store. i told him i was talking to a woman who's having the same Bad severe i am. he called the police. the police came and talked with us and said all we could do is complain to corporate about it. and blog about it. needless to say Very unhappy. i would just like my money back. read more

Horrible, horrible horrible!! They have NOTHING in stock, oil, antifreeze, windshield wiper blades, etc... The owners don't know what the heck they are doing when it comes to running a business. Terrible Service!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I took my car in for a simple oil change on a Saturday Morning, I knew it would be busy so I asked for an estimated waiting period. I was told there were four cars ahead of mine so it would be about an hour till mine was seen. My brother and I walked to the store next door to pick up a few items, to our surprise that only took up about 10 minutes of our time so we walked back over to Kwik Kar. It was a nice day so we waited outside where a few other people were also waiting for their vehicle. Long story short, my car was pulled aside and we waited out there for about 30mins After waiting for so long and not being asked if we were helped or anything we went in just to hear that my car was ready this whole time. So I guess my car magically had it's oil changed and everything checked in about 10 minutes! WOw Also when I asked why didn't they contact me since it was ready to quickly, apparently they tried but my phone number doesn't work, and they gave me the wrong keys then had to go find mine.
