Awesome!!! I have eaten here many times (almost everything from the menu) and it is always a great choice. Their ramen is the best I've had in Denver, priced fairly, and the staff is always super nice and accommodating. The manager Dominic seems to know everyone, so it's really got that neighborhood feel. Lira has frequently taken my order and she is always terrific and pleasant. The broth is delicious. I love the black garlic and shoyu versions, as are the rice bowls (I really like the beef Hawaiin BBQ and teriyaki), and the Poke bowls are always fresh and filling. Go with the triple Poke bowl! Picked up ramen from here for lunch the other day. Inside was fairly busy at lunch time (around 12pm) - but my order was ready very quickly. I went with the tonkotsu ramen - and didn't make any modifications to it. The broth was very rich and flavorful, and the bowl itself was packed with yummy goodness (pork, mushrooms, boiled egg, bamboo shoots, sprouts, and fresh green onions). The only vegetarian item has most likely not been tasted. The broth just tasted like hot water with a little oil in it. The tofu was cold silken tofu and they were out of eggs. So, it was hot water, oil, ramen and cold flavorless soft tofu. Oh, they sprinkled some corn in there-but that was the only veggie. Some of the worst ramen I've ever had. I really wish they would taste the veggie options rather than just have them as here is the one veg option that we never tasted. So bland. Breakfast of champions eh? Decided to check this place out as I had some time to kill before my reservation at the Denver art museum. Dine in was allowed. This is a fast casual place so you order at the front and your food is brought out to you. The service was okay, not bad, not exceptional. It is set up so that they have the front register blocked by tables to keep distance between customers. This in itself was not a bad thing, just different. I know we are all adjusting to times that are weird. I ordered the grilled whole squid which was very tasty and tender. In my opinion it had too much sauce on it, but was still enjoyable. I also had the black garlic ramen, spicy, with no corn. I believe the ramen broth needed a bit more sodium, but overall, no complaints. It was delicious and hot. It was a busy day and folks were looking for a mid-day respite from the grind. Searching for restaurants in the area, balanced against the tastes of the assembled group, and we settled on Kyoto Ramen. It was relatively close on California St just off 16th street toward 17th. Upon arrival, we mound a quick serve Ramen joint with a pretty good menu. I settled on the Shoyu Ramen (American level of hot spice) and a side of Gyoza, placed my order, and sat down w/ a glass of water. The atmosphere was pleasant with a diverse eclectic clientele. Service was really quick. The Ramen came first and the Gyoza a bit later. It was visually appealing with good balance of spice, mushrooms, roast pork, green onions, sprouts, fishcake,... All the usual accoutrements. The egg was not split in half, which seemed a bit odd, but ok. It was a little awkward to eat with chop sticks. It was manageable though. It was a bit bland until I really got down into the bowl. More medium than hot, but well balanced and seasoned. The roast pork was really good. Broth very good. Noodles? A little al dente for my taste, but passable. The gyoza were ok. A little tough, but the filling was really good. Kyoto Ramen was a good spot for lunch and definitely worth a try. read more

Stopped into Kyoto Ramen the other day and was not disappointed! The owners smartly repurposed the former Larkburger space and focused on the food - the Ramen was amazing and the menu was diverse. Lots of ways to customize your bowl. They had lots of suggestions while I was ordering and the cashier even mentioned what her favorite bowl was which is always appreciated! My friends and I are from NYC. We were meeting a friend that was around the area and we came across this ramen restaurant. The rating really went to the service. The server John was extremely nice and was even recommending places to go to in Denver. He's really funny and engaging. John even offer to take a group photo for us while we were eating. It's a very spacious restaurant, fits big group and couples. The food selection was just right, they have a menu for ramen which I guess that's what their known for but also a poke bowl menu. The ramen broth lacked flavor, the 2 small slices of pork tasted stale and certainly not fresh, and the $2 boiled egg was overcooked.
