When I heard we were finally getting a KYU Ramen ( @kyuramen.west coast ) I had to check out. I've been back twice so far! Every time I get the Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen ( plus black garlic ), the Takoyaki Octopus Balls are the best I've ever had, and I had to try the Tonkatsu Omurice. I've seen that dish blow up from people traveling to asia and to my knowledge this is the first spot in Vegas with it. It was legendary. Another ramen addition to the Henderson area! There's not many ramen spots in Henderson so this is very convenient instead of driving to Chinatown for a bowl of ramen. It was only their second week of being opened but there was still a huge hype surrounding this place. I had to put myself on a digital waitlist once I got there and I was quoted for an 1-1.5 hour wait during a Thursday dinner. It definitely did take an hour but luckily you're able to check your place in line through your phone. The atmosphere and environment of this place was aesthetically pleasing. It was brightly lit and it was spacious. Even though it was packed, service was up to par. Although they're known for their ramen, they're also known for their omurice which is exactly what I tried. Pork Tonkatsu Omurice Combo (3/5): For a $25 meal, it does seem a little pricey but it comes with a side of pork tonkatsu and your choice of dessert (matcha pudding or cherry blossom jelly). There's an option to choose from curry sauce or demi glace sauce. I opted for the demi glace with cherry blossom jelly. They give you an option to take a video before they cut up the egg which was a nice gesture. The omurice tasted just okay to me. It wasn't as mind blowing as I anticipated it to be and although it's hyped up for the silky egg, that's just it. The fried rice inside tasted mediocre, not bad but nothing amazing to say about it. I liked the pork tonkatsu a lot since it was crispy and had a lot of flavor! The dessert was also a favorite since it's unique and light to have after the meal. It wasn't overly sweet either. Overall I probably wouldn't try the omurice again, but I would come back to see how their ramen is. read more

We visited on a Sunday busy lunchtime. We put our name on the waitlist and there were several names ahead of us. We were seated after about 10 minutes. We were offered to sit in their unique "honeycomb booths" or regular tables. There are several private rooms in the back too The place is huge unlike any ramen places I've visited. The table spacing is ample enough to have a good conversation & offers enough private space. Service was prompt, courteous & efficient food delivery. My wife opted for the chicken ramen since she doesn't eat pork. The broth was refreshing light, clean, & flavorful. Chicken was cooked well I ordered our server's recommended best seller- Tokyo Tonkatsu Shoyu ramen! I was pleasantly surprised by the broth which was lighter than usual yet full of flavor. Party of 3. There was a short wait, but we were seated pretty quickly. It was our first time coming here, and I'd definitely come back to try the ramen and more dishes. The atmosphere was really nice smaller than I expected though. Social media definitely made it look bigger lol. The food was good not the best, but still enjoyable. We didn't order the main dishes (ramen), just appetizers and the omurice, which was yummy. Our server was attentive, but our rice and spicy chili dumplings came out very late. We had to ask about them, and after checking in the back, the rice came out and we were told the dumplings would be out soon. It's finally here! Just opened a short while ago and already so popular. We came and there was a bit of a wait but it took approximately 15mins to get seated (if we didn't ask to sit in a specific spot) Shout out to the hostess for working with my request to sit in the honeycomb area. She was ON IT. As soon as the couple got up that was seated there she had it cleaned and turned so fast so thank you girl you the best ! The restaurant itself is so pretty and really spacious. The honey comb only has 5 booths so they are highly coveted. The view from up there is fantastic and you just feel like on top the world hehe. The server was really nice and gave us his recommendations for desserts that we got to choose with our "combos". The combos are honestly such a great deal. I got the combo with tonkatsu ramen, bao bun, matcha dessert and Thai tea. My boyfriend got the chicken ramen, fried potstickers, cherry blossom dessert and Thai tea. These deals give you an appetizer, meal and dessert plus your drink for about $27 so it's great! We HAD to get the Omurice because it's literally the most cool thing I've had my eye on since seeing it all over social media. I don't think any other spot has that so it was my bucket list have to!! And let me tell you it did NOT disappoint. Normally I'm not a curry girly but this curry was really flavorful and added to the flavors. Only 1 complaint I guess you could say was that it wasn't hot. Like the rice was kinda cold and I think if it was warmer it would be better but nonetheless really yummy and a fun presentation. There's a game/contest too. You have to slurp all your ramen broth (or pour it into your partners like I did) and check the bottom of the bowl for a red circle telling you if you're a winner and what you won on your next visit. This place is honestly pretty overhyped, especially for what's shown on TikTok. The whole viral moment is those honeycomb-shaped seating areas, but there are only about five tables total, and three of them only seat two people. If you actually get to sit in one, sure, it's cool for a second -- but once you're inside the dome, it really doesn't change the dining experience at all. And the rest of the restaurant is just... normal. Because of that, it feels kind of silly that the place blew up mainly for those seats. It comes off more like a gimmick than anything, and it definitely lures people in with expectations that don't match reality. As for the food, the ramen was good, but not amazing or memorable. Same with the dessert -- not bad, just nothing special. There are plenty of ramen spots around that are just as good, if not better. The rest of the fam had ramen and it looked pretty tasty. I'll definitely be back for some ramen! Although very busy, servers were very attentive and I really appreciate that! The broths were rich and well-balanced, the noodles had great texture, and the portions were generous and satisfying. When I first walked into Kyu Ramen, I loved the atmosphere the whole restaurant has this cool beehive vibe that makes it feel unique and welcoming. The broth was all salt- instant ramen tastes better. The ingredients in the soup were bland. We went on a Thursday evening and it was a 2 hour wait. They sat us in a table in the middle where all the tables are congregated like a lunch room. While considering omurice, my friend asked what demi glacé is and the waitress rolled her eyes and said its demi glacé.. I asked what it tastes like and she said she doesn't know. While actually placing the order, the rude waitress couldn't hear me so she angrily blurted out "HUH?!" like I offended her. Luckily the omurice was one item that actually ended up tasting decent, but for a $21 egg and fried rice, i'd hope so. Also we asked to order the half half ramen to-go and they said that they can't. Meanwhile I ordered the same thing and then asked for a to-go box which they then provided.. so they could have done it. Make it make sense. Wouldn't go back. Ambiance is cool though but the rude service and lackluster overpriced food just isn't worth it. The crap experience outweighed the looks of the place. All superficial IG bait. I marked Kyuramen near where I live in Pasadena for I've wanted to try their omurice. This location was like a mile from where I was staying in Henderson, NV so I made the trek there. I love the decor in the place which had a real Japan vibe. The booths are shaped in honeycombs so you can "bee" in your own seating area. I got to sit in an upstairs one so I was looking down into the restaurant. It was pretty cool. The waiter was very friendly and helpful since I wasn't sure on parts of my order, mainly the sauce to over the omurice. I went with the demi. I also ordered the tonkatsu version. They bring the rice that is sort of an eye shape with the egg on top. They take a knife and cut length wise and the egg breaks open and oozes over the rice. Then they pour the demi sauce over it. There was some leftover demi which I used to pour over the tonkatsu. The food was amazing and so glad I finally was able to try it. They also have ramen which I may try at a later time but not sure I could since I really liked the omurice.
