Honeycomb booths inside
Liz C.

So happy that so many new Asian restaurants are opening in The Woodlands area. Kyuramen & TBaar are in the same spot so you can order ramen dishes & boba all at the same time. We ordered these: 1. Ying Yang Bowl - chashu pork, shrimp tempura, scallop, marinated egg, & veggies in a pork broth. 2. Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Bowl - chashu pork, marinated egg & veggies in a pork broth. Added a shrimp tempura. 3. Honeycomb Platter - chili garlic edamame, lobster & chaschu salad ball, tamago egg, shrimp tempura, eel unagi, scallops & seaweed salad. 4. Popcorn Chicken 5. Takoyaki Octopus Balls 6. Desserts: matcha pudding w/ red bean, matcha tiramisu, & Japanese cherry blossom jelly. 10/10 recommend the matcha pudding btw! If you go, ask to sit in the honeycomb booths. The ambiance of this place is absolutely lovely. Service is alright but for the most part you just order.

Aloe Grapefruit Tea(L)

Great place to stop off for a quick lunch. The ramen broth was rich and flavorful but needed more spice for my liking. Tried their Grapefruit aloe tea which surprisingly was very delicious. Each table has a bottom that you pushed if you needed your server. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Their dining room is beautiful with a tree as the center peace giving you a quick escape from 45's traffic.

My kid is a regular here now. We always come later in the day on weekdays and always get the honeycomb seating without issue. The tonkatsu curry ramen with pork bao/thai tea add on is her go to. Today I had devoured two whoppers an hour earlier and just couldn't bring myself to more gluttony. The tonkatsu was not submerged like last time so it stayed crispy and wasn't soggy. We didn't complain last time but thank you for getting it right this time.

Popcorn Chicken

Such a cool looking little ramen shop. The food was amazing too. Every thing that we ordered was spot on some of the best ramen around. The popcorn chicken was great too. However it is the Woodlands and the prices are a little high for a bowl of ramen. The service was friendly but never really suggested anything. They use a kinda pager system to ring a server over to the table. That part seemed odd and often awkward. We weren't really sure if we had a dedicated server. But the food was good and my son finished his bowl and got a coupon for a free popcorn chicken next time.

Will be returning! The food tasted delicious, recommend the black garlic broth, it was super tasty. They had some cute honeycomb wall seating. Finally, our waitress was soo friendly! It was a bit slow when we want so we got extra attention I'm sure but all in all such a lovely experience.

Classic Japanese Omurice with both sauces on top. So good!

The food, and service was amazing. I tried the classic omurice with both sauces. Will definitely be back when I'm in town!

Chicken and Ika Geso Kara-Age

Although I've given this place multiple tries... I just can't bring myself to like it. We started with some appetizers - popcorn chicken and Ika (fried squid). They were crispy and tasted really good. Unfortunately my experience only went down hill from there. I was in between 3 kinds of ramen and asked the server if there was any diffence btwn the broths since they were all pork. She told me they all tasted VERY different, but could not tell me what the difference was. She rattled off the different toppings that they came with instead of describing the broth... I ended up picking the #3 Mega Ramen and it was not good. The broth was sweet yet bland - I picked at the toppings here and there but could not bring myself to actually eat it. My partner's ramen broth was rich, umami, and way more flavorful. Not sure if this was some fluke or if it was meant to be like this... During my previous visit, I ordered the viral omurice and also found it to be extremely bland. I will not be visitng again as there are issues with consistancy of the food quality/taste. The servers also seem to be not very well-informed of the menu items. It really is a shame since the interior is beautiful. It's well-lit and aethetic, but the food doesn't match the vibe

Yingyang Bowl

Kyuramen is always a hit, and the design this location was so freaking cool. It had hive pods on the wall that I got to sit at and overlook the entire restaurant. The service is excellent and not just because there is a button on your table to press when you need anything, but the staff is so kind. I felt overwhelmed by the options but not to fear the yingyang bowl is here! It's basically a 2-in-1 option of the Shoyu and Miso Ramen. Both broths were very delicious- the shoyu being bolder than the miso but it was divine being able to go back and forth from each and experience different flavors in one bowl. Kyuramen is a solid spot where you'll definitely be content afterwards.

Pork Tonkatsu Omurice

Came here for one of my girlfriend's bdays and they were accommodating for this! I enjoyed what I ordered a lot - pork tonkatsu omurice with curry sauce. I like how they give you the curry sauce, gravy bowl of it practically! My husband didn't like his ramen much though. And we ordered an appetizer that didn't come out until we were almost done with our meals so... we were irked on that. But the ambiance is really cool inside. Food and service just can be hit or miss

Best ramen in town. It is great for a cold night like it currently is. They offer a great variety of of food items from rice burgers to ramen and some fried food. All comfort food needs will be satisfied. The portions are large and sure to fill you up. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. The place is cool and different from your typical restaurant making it feel like you traveled to Japan for this meal. Always recommend!

We really enjoyed Kyuramen. The interior is beautiful with tables and private booths including an upstairs section off space it makes you feel like you are in Japan. I ordered the mega Ramen that came with pork broth and pork Chachu and tempura shrimp. My wife ordered the chicken ramen. We also had the pork bao for an appetizer. Everything was so delicious. The ramen was hot and perfectly seasoned. The noodles weren't overcooked. I loved them both and can't wait to try more varieties.

Thai Iced Tea

Really wanted to like this place, have been wanting to go for over a year now. Got the tonkatus omurice and tried it with both the demi glace and the curry sauce about $25 with tax so not super cheap. Unfortunately it just genuinely lacked any and all flavor besides mushroom. I honestly don't recall ever seeing an actual mushroom though. The demi glace sauce lacked any flavor as well but as I have never had it before now I wonder if that is just how it is meant to taste. Thai Tea was good, not great but looked pretty. Super disappointed with the food over all though, service was genuinely good and the inside of the place is gorgeous as well. Felt more for instagram than to actually enjoy unfortunately.

Crispy Popcorn Chicken

The service was great and food came out fast! The soup base was super flavorful and I loved the sweet potato fries, they tasted so good!! The combo is such a good deal, i got an extra bao bun with thai tea and a dessert!!

Today sadly was a 2-star visit. The regular staff we usually see on the weekend wasn't there. And…read morewe had a bone in our caterpillar roll. Ack. I showed our waitress and she said well of course there's a bone because they only use whole fresh eel. Bruh. I mean it's $12 for 3 pieces of tuna sashimi. I'd expect the food to be fresh at those prices. Then she quickly snatched it out of my hand and left. I did hear a soft sorry as she spun around. She went off to tend to other tables. But later in the meal I did hear her talking in the back with a man in Chinese about how a customer was complaining about a small bone in l their food. Guess she doesn't know I speak Chinese. At the end of the meal, I asked our waitress if she was the owner. She said no, quickly followed by a "the owner is not here today". Then I asked whether the owner was Chinese. Super duper long pause, followed by a soft spoken yes. Well, my favorite place in Memphis is also Chinese owned. I think many of the Japanese restaurants are. Ah well.

Here on New Years Eve to celebrate, and the food was fantastic! We ordered so much. My favorite was…read morethe black garlic pork ramen. My husband had the Rock n Roll, that was his favorite. The sushi is high quality, the rice is correct. I also had the salmon belly sushi and it was so fresh and tender. This is the place to go for top quality sushi in The Woodlands.
