We dined at this restaurant this past weekend and we were disappointed. The service was ok. There was not a bartender working the bar so we had to wait a while for our drinks. I ordered the prime rib, I received a sirloin, which was good and cooked as I ordered it, but the server had no clue that my meal was not what I ordered. My husband ordered the mahi mahi blackened. It was over cooked to the point my husband had to use a knife to cut it. He finally sent it back and received another over cooked Mahi Mahi. The mashed potatoes and baked potato were both good. The atmosphere was ok. We ordered dessert, the cheesecake, it was ok. I would not return or recommend this place to anyone. First time here so we ordered a lot. We started with Oysters on the half shell, Ahi Tuna, crab cakes, and pork shanks. Then came the freshly baked bread with their tomato basil compound butter. I had the prime rib and my two guests had the Parmesan crusted pork loin. We ended with creme brulee and I took chocolate covered strawberries home to my wife. All of the food was good, but the oysters, crab cakes, pork shank, "the bread", and creme brulee were excellent! They also had a good beer selection, good atmosphere, friendly and fast service. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because my prime rib was a bit dry and medium-well instead of medium-rare. However the flavor was still very good. Also the brocolli and carrots were cooked well, but very plain. Overall the meal surpassed expectations at a reasonable price for some fine dining quality food. Its close to Zionsville so I will be returning. Even if it wasn't close to home, it's worth the trip. read more

This place is confusing... In a good way! It's a Harley themed, hole in the wall in Whitestown that is absolutely amazing! They have high end choices on the menu. Prime rib, oysters on the half shell and other items you would normally not find in a place like this. We went the sandwich route. Go Inside! The outside of this restaurant does not do it justice. Even if you don't like the Harley/motorcycle theme interior, the restaurant is still clean and presentable. I stopped in for lunch here and the service was very friendly and fast. The food was really good too as lunch sandwiches go. I had the burger which was really good, my only criticism would be that the bun was obviously out of a package (if not, it was on par with that quality) and became soggy and deflated with the size and juiciness of the burger itself. I've been twice now, and have been impressed both times. The Brie appetizer is creamy smooth. The ribeye was a monster and had great flavor. The pork loin was moist and flavorful. I've been to the bar and had absolutely wonderful (4 types) of appetizers. People were extremely friendly and helpful. We ride motorcycles, so of course we enjoyed the theme inside. Today we woke up and thought we would try the Sunday brunch for $12.95/no drink included. If the food is anything like we experienced with the appetizers I'm wearing my stretchy pants! Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for brunch. Biscuits and gravy were bland. Cubed hash browns didn't have a crispy crust (but a nice mix of veggies in there) egg benedict was cold, fried chicken was mainly legs and thighs, wasn't homemade mashed potatoes. I even passed on the brownies just by the looks of them. And how to you get un-ripened fruit at this time of year? Not again. First time I've walked away from a buffet hungry. read more

First time in a very long time we have had prime rib that was fork tender but wasnt dried out. The ribeye was very good too. Portions were good and very well prepared. The dining rooms are small but adds to a more intimate atmosphere. My only complaint is I didnt get to take one of the motorcyles home. Great experience we will be back. read more

Meh. Didn't have dinner, but lunch was very underwhelming. Staff was friendly but the food certainly wasn't worth the detour from the interstate. My wife and son had the grilled cheese sandwich with provolone. Wife gave it a 3.5 star and my son said it was a 4. My daughter had the kids spaghetti and said it was below average. I ordered the chicken burrito which was a misleading name. While it said it was covered in queso sauce, it certainly wasn't what I would call queso. The chicken was diced and seemed to be of the frozen diced chicken variety. I wouldn't label this a burrito, but rather a chicken Alfredo wrap. But I would still label it a 2. Seemed like something I would make for lunch with leftovers in my fridge. Perhaps dinner is better? read more

Went for 1/2 price wine night. Nothing spectacular on the wine list--only overpriced stuff you can get at Kroger. The bread was spectacular, service horrible. My blackened salmon was not really blackened, only some Cajun seasoning. I order the vegetable of the day-broccoli cauliflower mix topped with blue cheese, however it came soggy, limp and with some yellow cheese sauce that tasted like a powdered cheese sauce--very disappointing. If you blink you'll miss this place. But I was on a mission to find a tiny small town diner and make it my own! The outside looks like you will be highly unimpressed by this place, but realizing that there was NO where to park that night (because it was so full) was a good sign for me! When you walk in you'll be blown away by how nice this joint is. It's like an upscale Harley theme, if there is such a thing. And they have delicious food! Besides sandwiches and burgers they also have steaks, prime rib, pasta. All fresh and obviously made from scratch. I got a Reuben and asked them to swap the sauerkraut on top for coleslaw because I like things "New York style". Great prices on wine and beer. Despite all the gravel roads in Boone county I drove down trying to get there, it was a great place to go! I figured out a better route on the way home. Had dinner there on a Friday nite, and enjoyed the meal. Service was quick and attentive. Fresh baked bread arrived shortly after ordering along with our salads. Bread was warm and tasty, but the herb spread tasted like a margarine mix, not bad but butter would have been much better. Salads were nice with homemade croutons. Hot bacon dressing tasted homemade, but blue cheese dressing dissapointed, just OK. I had the parmesan encrusted pork cutlet with buerre blanc sauce, was DELICIOUS! My wife had the streak dinner special and she loved it, was cooked perfect! I had the pasta which was also very good. And I'm a picky eater. We like the nice casual atmosphere. The bar area is small, seats about 20 and everyone seemed friendly . The people we met were from all over and seem to be regulars. Has outdoor seating but it was too cold to be outside. The service was excellent , fast and friendly. Drinks were good, liked the Stella on Tap and Teri had a nice Malbec wine. We go out to dinner about twice a week and L A cafe was an excellent place for good food and service. Going back in a month or so to try their Sunday brunch. Recently reopened under new ownership. Now has candlelit tables with white linen tablecloths, outdoor patio, artwork, very attentive friendly service, and upscale menu options. Lunch menu is mostly sandwiches for $6+ that include your choice of side. Dinner menu is a few sandwiches for $10 (includes salad and side) and entrees for $13-$25. The food is very good. It is all fresh ingredients from local farms, and you can taste the difference. I've never had such fresh chicken breasts. The pork tenderloin was good but a little overcooked for medium. Fresh homemade salad dressings are great. The only thing missing was bread with the meal. Will definitely return. Probably the best restaurant in Boone county outside of Zionsville, so definitely worth a stop if you're traveling along I65 (take Whitestown exit north to 300S, turn right then 2 miles to "downtown" Whitestown - watch the speed limits) or looking for decent food northwest of Zionsville. read more
