Yesterday I was finally able to make it there and was super excited! Though, I was a bit disappointed tbh. Tried Pistachio Rose Croissant that was overly greasy and worse than that- didn't feel neither pistachio flavor nor rose. Seriously! Even not a hint. If I was blind tasted it, I was simply guess it's just a regular croissant soaked with oil/butter. Also tried their Kouign Amann that was ok. Nothing better or tastier than others I tried around the city. Their baguette was super nice! Raspberry is the way to go,hands down. Trust me, I've done a lot of research on this. The tahini cookie can be skipped. I've never experienced super friendly staff. Ok for starters I have been excited to try this place for a while since I am a croissant enthusiast I made this a priority coming from California and lets just say the girl at the counter with short dark brunette hair is so rude. We walked up to her with a friendly smile and greeted her mind you she didn't even bother to say "hello" she looked like she hated her job honestly or bad morning? She rolled her eyes as we were ordering because as first timers we were overwhelmed so we ended up going with the "popular" rose pistachio croissant which was good but don't get the hype over it. Then we felt stressed out and ended up ordering our coffee which we felt pressured to order because she was giving us a dead stare and accidentally ordered "hot" lattes instead of "iced" so when they called our order we realized we forgot to mention "iced" then we proceeded to tell her we accidentally forgot to mention we wanted iced lattes and we were very sorry about that she didn't bother saying anything back and kept working. Then they called our coffee order and all they did was pour our "hot" lattes into ice! What a joke as I held the coffee it was hot with a bunch of ice in it. They didn't even bother to re-make it what kind of service is that???? I literally paid 30$ for mediocre croissant and 2 lattes and they couldn't even remake our drink!? It's giving tourist trap... don't bother coming here seems like they don't care about customer satisfaction and their seating sucks! Although it was very aesthetically pleasing it sucks that it couldn't live up to the hype. Hope they can do better! Overall I would give it 4/10 read more

The young owners are adorable; they took a grimy old ice cream place on Montague St. and turned it into a charming, authentic, paradis Francais that has a line out the door every. single. day. And for good reason! The salted chocolate chip cookies are to die for, their croissants are buttery delights, and their baguettes are the perfect daily bread. They only just opened -- their biggest issue is that they sell out too quickly! Order ahead or call before traveling from afar, because they're out of most things early. Had to check out what the buzz was about and honestly was not disappointed. Took a walk down there and it's a cute little store front with a beautifully decorated interior. I was fortunate enough to not have to wait too long (especially considering it was late Sunday morning). The staff was friendly and got my order out quickly. The croissants really are THAT good! Nothing warms my heart more than when a hyped up place lives up to their word of mouth buzz! Seriously, I had to check myself at the door when I ordered because you can do some serious damage in a short amount of time. Their prices aren't for the faint of heart, however you get exactly what you pay for which I am 100% ok with because its delicious. Their croissants are legit to die for. No, you don't understand- this is why the masses flock here! Their raspberry filled croissant is delectable as is their plain. I also love their tahini chocolate chip cookies but they can be priced a little better ( $4 for one cookie is a lot...no matter how good it is). Finally made it to this local pastry spot in Brooklyn Heights, founded by couple and bakers, Gautier and Ashley, who rose to fame on instagram / tiktok during the pandemic while perfecting their croissant recipe in their apartment. The millennial fairytale. Fast forward a year later, the pair have opened a dreamy cafe in the neighborhood. I could only wish my own apartment smelt this good. My friend and I managed to snag the last 2 croissants (raspberry and almond / chocolate and almond). So so delicious, the perfect balance of flaky and buttery and great flavor combinations. Go for the raspberry if you have a sweettooth but my personal fav was the chocolate. The chocolate cookies are also super soft and moist. We understand why there are queues to get in. We went around 11.20am so bear in mind if you want to get a croissant, try get their early (pre 11am). Note: there is an elegant seating area upstairs although small. They open at 8. At this point, a week after they opened the physical location, lines start forming before 7:30. Hopefully this calms down a bit soon, not just for customers but also for the business, which seems somewhat overwhelmed. It's a very nice addition to the neighborhood. The skill in the croissant making is very good--A++ lamination, the very best in the neighborhood. The filled croissants are a matter of taste. The raspberry was very very sweet. I would not order the ham and cheese croissant again, which is my go-to everywhere--I was told it was fresh out of the oven and was expecting something, hoping really, for a little bit of slightly crisp edged ham peeking out and melted or at least softened Gruyère or Swiss, but rather it was a plain croissant that had been sliced open and slices of cheese and ham inserted rather like a little ham and cheese sandwich. Fantastic baguette, for which I would return. I would also, next time, just buy some plain croissants. The coffee looked excellent, but as they were only making espresso-based drinks and there were more than 100 people waiting behind me, I skipped it--I highly suggest, given the length of the lines and the heat these days, that they make some provision for quick-to-dispense iced coffee. I'd also gently ask whether they would consider, given that they have been routinely selling out of croissants within a couple of hours after they open, setting some kind of reasonable limit on purchases. Even if you arrived well before they opened today, you would not have been able to purchase one of their baguettes. One of the women in front of me purchased something like 25 croissants even though the bakery case was already half empty and they were waiting for new batches to come out of the ovens, and they hadn't even gotten to the people who had been waiting since before the doors opened, never mind the line stretching down to the corner. This is an exciting time for them, but hard to build a broad following among a wide customer base if only the first part of your line is able to purchase your product. read more

The baguettes are hit and miss. One day they are longish, the next day they can be short and stubby. They always have charred spots. Baguette crusts should not be burnt. Once, the baguette was literally only an inch thick, which is not a good thing. As for the croissants, they are also never consistent, but one thing they always are is sickeningly sweet, too sweet, overwhelmingly sweet. And the butter quotient is excessive. Sugar and butter aside, the croissant layers must be flaky all the time, and they are not. The butter creates a greasy sponge. The raspberry is often a sloppy mess. I don't know what I'd call them, but they are not croissants. The place has become a tourist trap. We stopped going. read more

Tough to review. I had an almond croissant the week before they opened and it was amazing. Then two weeks went by where the lines were crazy and they would sell out of everything except the cookie. After waiting in line for an hour you would then be told sorry we only have the cookie. Which is a tahini chocolate chip cookie that is okay if that's what you are looking for. Finally one day I was able to get a plain croissant and it did not live up to my original impression of the almond one which tasted so fresh out the oven. The plain one was a bit overdone and just didn't have that ooh La La that my first one did weeks ago. I don't know... not sure if it was too much internet fame? Maybe once the hype dies down it can't become a nice neighborhood spot but right now it feels really over run. read more

this place is amazing! i live near by, and i can't tell you how happy it makes me to see this team be so successful // smell the baked goods from my window :) for the negative reviewers, i understand your frustrations - but you don't understand the dedication. i've been watching this business since they started baking at home; and now have become the most sought out croissant. as most bakeries/markets/restaurants do, they prepare the night before and once something is sold out - that's it. of course you can be upset, who doesn't want a tasty treat? but don't drag the staff. this isn't Pret or LPQ -- it's a small NEW bakery, that everyone's excited to try; and if their shelves are clear by 10AM - that's a win in my books. sooo get in line at 7:50, because everything here is worth trying and if you can't / their sold out by the time you arrive - remember this place LITERALY just opened. so give them a break, try to be understanding, and don't be rude. because i personally want them to stay forever, and you should too :) read more
