I used to frequent this place a couple years ago and then I found another nail place in the area that I love. But I decided to come back and give this spot another chance and unfortunately I had a bad experience. Instead of soaking off my previous gel manicure, the technician used the machine to scrap it off. My nails underneath burned as she did this and now that all the gel is off, I can see that a layer of my nail was removed in the process. Because of this, my nails are really messed up. They are brittle, breaking, and hurting. I usually get gel done every 3 weeks and I haven't been in a long time to get another manicure because my nails are so brittle and keep breaking from the manicure I got at this salon. I also went with my sister and she is having the same experience after we went here. It is unfortunate because the salon is lovely inside but I won't be back again.

I visited yesterday for a basic, no-polish mani/pedi with Cathy and Bao. It couldn't have been a…read moresimpler service. I was the last customer to arrive and the first to leave. They completed my appointment quickly, making it an easy, full-priced service. The Brazilian wax was where the experience went downhill. The service itself was incomplete, with a noticeable amount of hair left behind. Even more concerning was the complete lack of privacy. The esthetician asked me to undress while she remained in the room watching, which made me very uncomfortable. After the wax, she again stayed in the room while I was expected to get dressed. I politely asked for privacy. Due to a language barrier, she initially misunderstood, briefly stepped out, then immediately returned with a wet washcloth I had not requested. I had to ask a second time for privacy, yet she remained in the room, leaving me with no choice but to get dressed in front of her. That level of disregard for a client's comfort and dignity during such an intimate service is simply unacceptable. My final disappointment came at checkout. While I was paying, the owner engaged me in conversation, asking where I was from, which distracted me from noticing the small sign posted above eye level stating there was a 3% credit card surcharge. I only realized the fee after the transaction had been completed. I immediately apologized and politely asked whether the credit card transaction could be voided so I could instead pay with my debit card and avoid the surcharge. There was no line and no other customers waiting. The owner refused, saying, "Oh no, that's too much work for me." The surcharge itself wasn't the issue. What disappointed me was the complete lack of customer service. I presented a simple solution that would have taken only a minute, but it was dismissed without any willingness to help. Ironically, the nearly $5 surcharge could have gone toward a better tip for the staff instead. Between the incomplete waxing service, the disregard for basic client privacy, and the owner's dismissive attitude toward a reasonable customer request, I won't be returning. Los Angeles has no shortage of salons that provide quality service, respect their clients' privacy, and value customer relationships. I'll be taking my business to one of them.

I asked for water, and they brought it in a regular glass mug--something I found concerning for hygiene reasons. At a nail salon, it would be much safer and more sanitary to provide bottled water or disposable cups for customers. My Gel pedicure was done very quickly less t 30 minutes it felt rushed. The cuticles weren't properly trimmed, and the nails weren't deep-cleaned, which is unusual compared to other gel pedicures I've had that usually take 45-60 minutes. My Gel mani was similar- the nail polish had to be applied and removed several times, made it seem like the nail technician might not have been very experienced. Again, cuticles weren't addressed, and the process felt hurried. The salon itself is beautiful, and the aesthetic is lovely, but the service left me disappointed. I was hoping for a relaxing experience, and instead it felt rushed and just awkward vibes.

I booked a gel manicure, but the quality of the work was poor. The manicure looked rushed, the application wasn't well done, and the overall result fell well below what I would expect from a professional salon. I also paid for the Hydration Boost service. Unfortunately, they didn't perform the full treatment--they skipped the paraffin portion entirely--but still charged me full price. If a service isn't fully provided, customers shouldn't be charged as though it was. Between the lack of cleanliness, the poor-quality manicure, and being charged for a service that wasn't completely performed, I left feeling like I didn't receive what I paid for. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend Nail Affair Salon based on my experience.

Any how i have been going to this place for almost 7 yrs not once have i complained or requested anything be fix. i show up to ask if my nails can be fixed, well first she wanted to charge me to fix my nails i asked " you're going to charge me" she said fine get a color, but the whole time while painting them again she kept saying how it wasnt her fault, how it was my nails cause they were weak , or broken or my nails made it turn yellow! My gels usually last 3/4 weeks, and i felt so bad i was not asking for a free service or showed up 2 weeks later to get it redone, it was 2 days! Anyhow i will not be returning and its really disappointing because i never thought id be treated this way.

If you want experience people this is the place to go. The creativity is amazing. I have not designed any of my nails... My designer is Pam! She's very accommodating works around my work schedule and I always come out with a smile. I receive compliments and comments on my nails on a regular basis. Customer service is great! Location and parking is awesome. All the staff is a pleasure to be around. Customers are always smiling and talking to each other as well as to the staff.
