I almost never write reviews but I feel compelled because everyone at LV Optometry is just so awesome! Victoria, Joe, and Lily are super customer oriented. They were great with exams for myself, my husband, and kids (3 and 5). And trust me when I say an exam for a kid is hard! Our last optometrist didn't think my son was old enough to wear glasses but Victoria and all subsequent doctors and optometrists explained that kids are never to young to get their vision corrected. My son's much happier with his glasses and I wish we got them sooner. When my son's glasses broke, they discovered it was a manufacturer defect and got a new pair shipped within the week and I just paid shipping charges. They remember our names each time we go in. Victoria is responsive via email. They explained the insurance options for my daughter and got her cute sunglasses too. They're everything you'd want in an optometrist! read more

LV Optometry has saved my eyes and my life :). I have not had eye coverage in quite some time and have been struggling to see. Finally I made an apointment with LV Optometry- great experience. I got a full exam, the nice girls working there answered all my questions and put my 5 year old at ease while having her eyes examined too. Awesome choice of frames- I went with black and orange Ray Bans- many compliments. I will definately recommend this place to anyone that needs a great eye doctor. I made an appointment on a Monday and was able to be seen that Wednesday. Being it was my first time getting my eyes checked, I was a little nervous seeing all these machines. They were SO sweet though. They were very thorough with the examination. They explained to me before each machine what would be going on and how it worked. Constantly making sure I was ok. So then came the fun part. Choosing glasses!! Let me say. Victoria is super patient. I must have tried on 20+ glasses, and each time she would give me her opinion, if she liked them on me our not. So helpful. In the end I found a pair I liked. Definitely would recommend this place. read more

I had to switch my optometrist due to my wife's eye concerns. Indeed, the doctors are nice, knowledgeable, patient, caring and most importantly they work with you without pressuring you. They answered all my wife's questions very patiently. We had insurance and we still spend some out of pocket little more than I wanted. But we spend about same amount of money from Costco, but much better service, much more comprehensive exams, and much better quality lenses and frames. Don't expect to spend less when you go there if you have insurance. If you don't have that going in, it's a great experience!!! read more

The people there were very courteous, helpful, and knowledgable about vision insurance benefits/billing. But as mentioned in some other reviews, they are kind of "salesy", making me quite uncomfortable from time to time. (I remember the first time I set foot in their store, two ladies were very forceful trying to ask for my insurance information, even though I kept saying I just happened to pass by and all I wanted to do was to browse around.) Nevertheless, I've been going back to LV Optometry for 2 years now, and I think I will continue to go there because--other than repeatedly having to decline their upselling--they do get the work done quickly and smoothly. read more

Went in thinking OK quick and easy just get it over with. Got in and was glad it wasn't. They put you at ease so effortlessly and keep you comfortable all the time. They in no way do a "rush job" and make sure you know exactly what's happening and what's next. Every question answered by one of the Dr. sisters team, in a calm comfortable manner. Got my glasses here and I like it so far. only downside is that you have to paid for special order which I think that's ridiculous because the shop orders glasses daily from vendors and if they don't got items in stock they charge for ordering fee - aka special order. read more

My wife and I came here on Dec. 30th, 2012 to purchase a frame with prescription since my wife's fsa was due to expire( use it or lose it money). We searched on yelp to find this place, upon arrival it appeared to be very busy mainly consisting of Cantonese speaking customers. Although busy, a young woman who works here approached us and helped my wife with frames that she wanted to try on. Once my wife selected a frame, Dr. Lily Feng explained options/types/prices of lenses. I thought Dr. Feng's explanations were not as thorough as one would like, it sure didn't help to speak at 100 mph. Hey doc, I know there were other customers, but did you really have to rush rush? Anyhow after choosing, the frame with prescription lenses totaled out to about $700. With that money, you can buy two pairs of decent quality frames with transition lenses at Costco. The selection of frames were also limited, no bigger than Costco's. We came here because of the five stars on yelp although not many reviews, it was the closest to our residence, and the place I usually go to Eye Works of San Mateo was closed on Sundays. To top off the dissapointment, my wife purchased her frame on Dec. 30, 2012, but to have it ready on Jan. 18th, 2013 is unheard of and unacceptable. My experience with Costco would have it ready between a week to week & half, and other shops that I experienced were about the same time frame. Nearly three weeks to have your over priced frame ready is ridiculous even if January 1st was a holiday, keep in mind that's only one day excused. If this shop turned out well, I may have also purchased a frame for myself and perhaps made it our annual go to place, since it's in our neighborhood. Needless to say, we will not be back and can't recommend it to anyone for that matter. read more

I walked in LV Optometry looking for a quick exam but instead was pleasantly surprise by the thoroughness and professionalism from Dr. Victoria Feng. She explained every procedure in simple english and was gentle and precise when she did the tests. Since I haven't seen an optometrist in 3 years, she re-measured my precription & said it has gone one step down due to natural changes in my eyes. She even took the time to explain to me how that happens. So wow! How cool is that? Getting older, but I have a lower prescription! We did a series of tests including looking at the health of my eyes by taking a retinal photo, testing my peripheral vision, and making sure that I do not have glaucoma. I was happy with the service, got my one year supply of contact lens at a reasonable price, and I would highly recommend her for any one looking for an eye doctor. read more

Got an appointment quickly and without hassle. My eye checkups went smoothly and they were very helpful and nice people. Was in and out of there very quickly. I hate some other places where you have to wait and wait and things just drag on. They also have a large selection of frames to choose from as well. I guess I'll be coming back again. But my only complaints are that their glasses are kind of expensive and it seemed like they were trying to upsell me to get thinner lens, anti-glare, both contacts and glasses, and all the works.
