Having traveled for work through the SW USA, the recipes crafted here are as authentic as those frequented in AZ and TX. Outstanding pico and mole sauces. I recently had what we all considered the very best Margarita I've had anywhere -- be sure to get the hand-made classic version. They make these by hand -- no mix! WOW! they will customize to your liking. The meal starts off with a basket of freshly baked tortilla chips (still warm) delivered to your table. I got the taquitos, which are listed as an appetizer but are filling enough for a whole meal. However, I did have a lot of those delicious chips. The churros were amazing and also very filling. Great experience, sat at the bar ordered a tanqueray martini. I could hell he didn't make them often but a professional can make most anything. It was one of the better martinis I've had in Plymouth. Food and service was awesome! The best Mexican food I've had in a while! Very flavorful,hot and quick service. The waitress was sweet and speedy. The food price was a bit high but it's like that everywhere right now. I would go back. We had a large table at the end which was great for my 4 yr old son who has autism and it can be hard for us to go out and eat. 4 of us arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and there were tables inside, outside, and 4 chairs at the bar available. FOOD: Cheese dip is excellent, perfect consistency, chopped jalapeños gave it a decent heat. Chips are fresh and crunchy. Complimentary salsa has a really nice flavor, one of the best salsas I have had. Guac was disappointing. They make it here, but the consistency was kinda gooey, not creamy like when you just open an avocado up and mash it immediately. It was $10. I would probably get again if they offered it made table side, although I understand that is labor intensive and not something all places are able to do. The spinach enchiladas were tasty, plenty of spinach and mushrooms, and the rice and beans were wonderful accompaniments. The Rojas enchilada was also excellent. SERVICE: Ramon took good care of us. Immediately after we sat down he came over to take our drink order. He was busy with many other tables, but was accessible for when we were ready to order our next course or for drink refills. BAR: Seats look comfy, although we sat in a booth, which was also good size and comfortable to sit at. I got the ultimate margarita, with Herradura anejo, on the rocks, it was excellent. $16.75. It's often challenging to get a margarita with the right amount of alcohol and not overly sweet mixer, but the La Bamba bartender nailed it. The house chardonnay was a generous pour. ATMOSPHERE: Authentic feeling decor, clean inside. Even when busy, it is easy to carry on conversations without having to shout. There is also outdoor seating when weather permits. We parked one street over, but discovered there were a couple of spots available in their front parking lot. Next time I'll probably do lap in front to see if there are any open, before parking on the street nearby or in paid parking. read more

The interior was a pleasant surprise and reminded me of restaurants I have eaten at in Mexico and Central America. The staff was very friendly and the menu was thorough, but not overwhelming. I ordered the Tacos al Pastor and was pleased that the filling was mostly pork (so many places bulk up the filling with veggies). The side of black beans was basic and served room temperature (which I did not enjoy). The only downsides were that the bench seats were too close to the table (there are also regular tables with chairs that I will sit at next time) and the tortilla (flour) was way too thin for the amount of filling and I ended up having to eat it with a knife and fork. Our new favorite for Mexican food on the South Shore. Ambiance quaint, clean, cozy and nicely decorated Mexican motif. Big booths. Excellent, friendly and attentive service by Cintia. Ordered the guacamole and Bamba nachos with beef. For our entrees, tacos de Camaron and the Birria (beef stew). For dessert, flan and toffee cake. This is the Mexican restaurant that Plymouth needs. Real salsa, good carnitas and great tacos. I had the carnitas plate. Let start with the feature -- carnitas-- which were very good. Tender and flavorful with just enough fat left over. I would have preferred them just a tad crisped up but otherwise they were great. The accompanying beans were perfectly refried but the Spanish rice was a little dry. Overall a solid 4 maybe even 4.25. Giving this a 5 as the food in Plymouth is generally well below average, so this is a diamond in the rough. read more

We have been here often, last week, we were very happy. This week when I got the fried snapper, btw last week it was great, when I showed my server that one side had nothing. She told the owner.//manager that there was a concern after I showed her one side other side didn't. When I left, I tried to tell them that cross cut on the body was better than a long cut which allowed along the ribs. She told me that she stood by her kitchen, which I had to give credit for, but if you cut along the ribs, it allows the meat to fall into the fryer. When I told her that's probably what happened. She just said I still stand behind my kitchen. Congratulations. You've got this review. I didn't want anything from the . After trying all the five new Mexican restaurants in Plymouth over the last two years, I would definitely rate La Bamba as five stars. Four of us sat on their outdoor patio and enjoyed the authentic, very tasty selections from a large and varied menu. Our waitress was very friendly and solicitous checking back often. My shrimp tortillas were the best I ever had, with just enough cheese and spices to make it outstanding. The portions are generous enough for the four of us to box some up for the next day's lunch. My only criticism would be the tortilla chips at the beginning of the meal, which were fairly tasteless. But that certainly won't keep us from returning soon and often. read more

The drink menu has a lot of different choices and the menu is chock full of different dishes it's actually very hard to choose. My menu however was very dirty and had food smudges all on the inside, the appetizers plates when they were brought out one was dirty and the server put her finger on the plate to remove the crumbs and then set it back down on the table. The food was okay! My hubby got a burrito that he liked and I got this dish that sounded good on the page but I wasn't really into it. New to Plymouth, new to LaBamba. The menu has several options including some gluten free and vegan options. Large portions with very nice presentation. Staff are very friendly. Service very good. Prices reasonable. Margaritas very good. I enjoyed the Tacos Al Pastor while my dining companion enjoyed the Bamba tacos. I must admit everything on the menu looked good and it was difficult to choose. I'll just have to make a return visit. Food was appropriately spicy. read more

We've been meaning to try this place out ever since some friends raved about it after they gathered there following Plymouth's 2022 Thanksgiving Parade. Tonight was the night! I had the Los Compadres burrito, which combined both chile verde and chile colorado. Delicious! My dinner companion had the child's enchilada with rice and beans. She was wholly satisfied. We also brought excellent tacos al pastor home for another family member. Everything was a hit! We had a great lunch at La Bamba. The hostess and waitress were very quick and friendly. It was quiet when we arrived, and that probably helped. The chips were unremarkable, but the salsa was good. Pork carnitas were excellent, with a bit of bark on the roasted meat. My companion's chili verde looked good, too.
