The staff member who took my order should be better trained in treating customers with respect. I did not feel that I was treated fairly during my visit on July 2, 2026. After I placed my order, my husband asked a simple question about the parking. Instead of helping us, the employee responded with an attitude, turned away, and began talking to another staff member while making comments about us as if we couldn't understand English. That interaction made us feel disrespected and unwelcome. If the way we were treated reflects the restaurant's attitude toward Asian customers, that is deeply concerning. Hmmm this is NOT the same Woods I remember from my childhood. My parents are what I call "food snobs" and every once in a while we would drive an hour each way just to get seafood from here, but it was really good and left an impression on me. Recently my husband and I came in for lunch during the week. We ordered the seafood "platter" to share but was definitely more of a plate than platter. It tasted OK (I've had both better & worse) but the portion size felt small in relation to the price and the fries tasted like they came from stale potatoes. However, what I did like was it was served with cocktail & tartar sauce and they gave you plenty of both! Overall, the seafood wasn't bad by any means but I think I was expecting something more/different/better. It probably doesn't help that we had a seafood platter elsewhere earlier in the week that was phenomenal (and less expensive!) so it was hard not to compare. We probably won't be back but I would still recommend checking this place out and deciding for yourself ;) read more

While in Plymouth Massachusetts in May 2025, Tony, Noel Calliope & myself stopped at Woody Seside Restaurant on the Wharf in Plymouth Massachusetts. Tony and I shared a Seafood Platter & Noel had the Lobster Dinner. Tony also got a bowl of New Egland Clam Chowder. The baby had some Haddock & Fries! It was a good meal. Easily one of our favorite lunches on our trip through New England. If you are forced to choose between the chowder and bisque I'm voting chowder all day. Woods seafood is a small restaurant attached to a fish market. Everything was fresh that day. Being from California we've never had a true "Lobsta roll" so we took the opportunity to get one here for $26. In Boston they wanted $40 for the samething. The bun was fresh and the meet was fresh and hanging over the sides. The fries were perfectly cooked as I like them crunchy. No frills- and I mean zero frills. But the prices were great and the food was good. Order at the window and wait for your number. Woods Seafood is a fish market/restaurant located on the water in Plymouth. The only parking I could find was metered wharf parking next to the restaurant. Inside its counter service and I ordered a bowl of lobster bisque ($5.50) and the baked scallops with fries and slaw for ($21). The food was ready in about 15 minutes. The lobster bisque was served in a large bowl and was very good tasting and at that price point a steal! I enjoyed it. The baked scallops covered by Parmesan were equally good tasting and also were a generous portion. The slaw and fries were good too. It was a filling meal. The people who work here are friendly. Hit up Joes on our first time visit to Plymouth! My friend was our local tour guide and wanted to bring us to one of her fave spots while we were there. It was very casual vibe, with a walk up counter for ordering. They call your number and you enjoy your goods with a view of the water! The service was very friendly and food came out fast. The traffic was consistent, so must be a popular stop. We opted for the fried scallops plate and fish n chips. Both were tasty and hefty in portions. The scallop platter was market price and the fish n chips was very reasonable at $12 as of 10/23. It was tasty and hit the mark! The space is intimate, so not a great place for large groups, but we were able to get 5 in comfortably and easy. They also have a large counter where you can buy fresh fish, Bob who was behind the counter was great. Gave us lots of fun info on the differences and info on seafood. The older gentleman took my money to bring up what I was purchasing to take out to go home, not prepared food raw fish, and decided to take my change with the bills and stick it in his chip jar and not give me back my change.. Went there on July 17th with my daughter & my mom. The place was packed. The ordering line was long, but it wasn't even ten minutes, and we were ordering our food. The wait for a table wasn't long at all, and we soon had our food. The cold lobster roll was very well portioned. The mussels were extremely well portioned. The whole belly fried clam plate was excellent. We went into the fish market to take things home, and we were not disappointed at all! Our family has been coming to Woods for decades. Visited this establishment after exploring Plimoth Plantation and it was highly recommended by my daughter's teacher as he visits this area every year. We were able to order fairly quickly at the front counter. We ordered: - Lobster roll comes with fries - very fresh and not over sauced like some places. You can taste the sweetness of the lobster. Fries were crisp and seasoned well. - Crab cakes (comes with 2) - one of of the best crab cakes we have had. My daughter is usually very picky with crab cakes and she ate it all. We normally get crab cakes in Monterey, CA and it just doesn't compare. - Clam Chowder - really tasty, but not the best I have had. - Calamari- perfectly battered and tasted great - Onion Rings - love their onion rings. We came here yesterday during our drive back from the Cape. The location of this seafood restaurant is perfect and right on the water. There is ample parking around the restaurant even for quick 15 minute pick ups! We came here to get take out. We ordered the whole belly clams and a plate of onion rings. We actually ended up eating everything while sitting on the water at one of the restaurant's benches outside. The benches were super clean and plentiful. It was really windy outside so that's probably why :) The restaurant inside was packed and there was only one stall for women and men's bathrooms each. I recommend getting take out here to avoid lines and wait times. But, it definitely looked much more enjoyable eating inside. The whole belly clams were delicious but less in quantity unfortunately. We only got about 10 clams on our plate and the cost was market price. We paid $25 which is pricey for only 10 clams!! I looked back at other customers Yelp pictures of clams and it looked like they got more clams. Maybe there was a clam shortage? The servers were really friendly though and the food came out quick. The things I liked about Wood's: You order, and then find a table. It makes things go along faster, we got our food pretty quick. They have people there to help if you need it; one nice Support staff pushed two tables together for us. And I saw them cleaning up people's tables. The views of the harbor are beautiful, even though I didn't see any outside seating. Things I did not like about Wood's: Mostly the food. I had a lobster roll, which was fine. I did have a lot of lobster, but it lacked flavor and it was not served with a lemon. I had to steal lemon off of a friend's plate who got a fish sandwich. (The lemon still had the sticker on it. I mean, come on, take off the sticker before you chop up your lemons to serve) The fries there are the kind I hate - tasteless without any crunchy bits. The fish sandwich was also sort of bland. I also tasted the baked haddock, which was really good. For me all of the carbs and calories were not worth it because the food didn't taste great.
