La Belle Vie doesn't look like much from the outside, especially inside the mall it's located within, but definitely worth checking out. If you're having to commute longer than 30minutes to get here, I would take this review with a grain of salt. Weekends tend to be a bit busy, I highly encourage you to make reservations if you plan on coming for a weekend brunch. They don't take reservations for Sundays but if you call in, they'll happily put you down on the wait list and ping you when you're table is ready. The restaurant is very quaint but has its own charm. It may be because of the younger crowds that occupy the restaurant on weekends, but it can get a little noisy. If the weather permits, they do have an outdoor seating area that tends to be a bit quieter. I've only been here for brunch a handful times so I can't speak on behalf of their dinner menu, but everything I've tried so far on their brunch menu has been solid. Little nitpicky things here and there could only create a better experience, but nothing to be a Karen about. (no offense if your name is Karen). Not sure what happened to this place. It seems as though it's under new management. The menu is very large and very confusing. Appetizers mixed in with entrees, breakfast mixed with dinner, etc. The PEI mussels that we ordered were not PEI. They were large, green, and tasted terrible. They were not cleaned properly and there were pieces of seaweed in the broth. They used an ice cream scooper to plate the mashed potatoes which was weird and didn't line up with the fine dining experience the prices led us to expect. All of the vegetables were undercooked. They served complimentary tomato soup which tasted canned and did not make sense with the rest of the cuisine. The worst part was the truffle cheese fries made with grocery store crinkle cut fries. And why are they serving croissants with oil and vinegar? So odd. My espresso martini was clearly just baileys shaken with ice. So disappointing. I'm fairly certain the people running this restaurant are not familiar with French cuisine or fine dining. We won't be returning unfortunately. read more

They could have gained a client that enjoys good food. Instead, we left and spent our money elsewhere. I met my sisters here for dinner on a Thursday night. My first impression was that the restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and the service was good. The food was a little hit or miss, but mostly hit. Pricing wasn't at all outrageous for a fairly upscale place. We started with the escargot. I should preface this by pointing out that I had never had it before and was talked into trying it by my sister, who loves it. Honestly... ew. Rubbery and weird tasting... sort of mushroom-ish. Maybe I just don't know any better, but snail loving sis was not impressed either. I guess it's a matter of taste. The bread basket was really good; fresh and came with seasoned oil and a sweet butter. For mains, I had the lobster ravioli. It was positively decadent, full of nice big pieces of lobster, topped with goat cheese and walnuts, the sauce was creamy and delicious. My siblings had the crab cake (reportedly good but not amazing), mussels marniere (absolutely delicious - I tasted the broth and concur), cauliflower au gratin (2 big thumbs up and ultra cheesy) and the bone broth and cheddar baked potato - I was not sure what to make of the latter; it was sort of like a baked potato dipped in meat juice with a scrim of white cheddar crisped onto the skin. It didn't knock my socks off. It was just sort of a semi-puzzled "mmmmkay". I think the best thing I had might have been the Ghirardelli white chocolate mocha with whipped cream on top. It was SO good. My sisters both had an iced caramel coffee, which I tasted and was also very good. I would definitely come back to try a few different things. read more

Absolute nightmare. Ruined evening. We ordered: octopus with arugula salad, escargot and margarita pizza. The octopus was burnt, we had to peel off the skin so it would become edible. Escargot had bad smell and tasted like spoiled eggs, we had to return it to the kitchen. And the star of the evening - pizza margarita. We ordered it because we thought it was impossible to spoil this dish, but "la belle vie" definitely surprised us- what we got was a piece of dough with store-bought low-quality tomato sauce and not melted mozzarella on top. You could get the same one on the gas station for $1, and it would probably taste better. Even Domino's pizza with delivery guy who would be missing with my order for 2 weeks would win in comparing with pizza from this place. We also had to return it to the kitchen. In summary, 2 out of 3 dishes were returned. The one that we didn't return, we had to peel out and eat what left. The only thing that we can say tasted nice was arugula salad with olive oil and vinegar. Probably because it is very difficult to spoil bunch of leaves. Also, we got our bread only after 15 minutes of waiting and 2 times asking for it. We definitely recommend this place if you are on a diet and you wanna be disgusted by food and eat nothing. This was the 3rd time we've gone to LA Belle and it will be our last. The first time we went was pre-covid and the food and service was AMAZING!! From the bread basket to the main dishes, the food was amazing. Then after covid we went again. Service was ok, but the food was so-so. The bread basket was nothing like the first time but we thought it was a fluke. Then we went on mothers day. Since it was a party of 6 gratuity of 18% would be added. The waitress was never around. Our appetizers never came out, bread was hard and over cooked, the meal itself was ok but not worth the price. When looking at our bill, they added 20% gratuity which our server wasn't worth that. This place either has new ownership or a different chef. Not recommending this place if you're looking for a fancy nice meal! read more

Enjoyed a dinner last night with a gracious host/waiter for our granddaughter's birthday. The place was empty as might be expected days after Christmas, unlike previous times when packed with joyous diners. Beautiful and comfortable dining experience. My co-host and I were throwing a baby sprinkle and we needed a place that would let us make a reservation for 30. La Belle Vie was more than accommodating. We came on a Saturday morning for brunch. We were able to bring our own desserts and go a little early to set up some decorations. We started our meal with the croissants, which were a perfect start to the meal with the little sweetness. I ordered the soft shell crab etouffe as my entree. The crab was deliciously crispy and went so well with the etouffe, egg, and toast combination. It came with a nice side salad and potatoes. There were many other items I need to come back to try! We got so many compliments after the sprinkle shower about picking a nice place to host. The service and ambiance was delightful. we've come here for several years and we're very disappointed this time. It was a very slow time in the restaurant (4:30). We waited a full 10 minutes to have the server acknowledge us. Then when we placed our order from the dinner menu, he told us we could not order from that menu yet because it was not 5:00. Disappointed, but we pivoted and ordered from the brunch menu. One of the items ordered was a beet salad. We sat and waited until a few minutes before 5 o'clock when our server came out and told us they did not have any beets. I canceled the salad order. At 5:15, our brunch finally arrived. Mine was chicken Parmesan. Pasta was hot and steamy! Chicken was only warm. The cheese slice that had been put on it was not melted and cool. I love Italian food, and took a few bites of my chicken, which was good. Once the pasta had a minute to cool, I took a bite of it and did not know what to think. It was not Italian tomato sauce. It was completely different color and texture to the sauce on the chicken. It had the strangest taste, almost as if a sweet Asian inspired sauce had been mixed into it. I mentioned it to the server and he told me "Italian sauce has a tomato base and the chef mixes it with ketchup!" Overall, I was very disappointed with the food and the service. I will try the restaurant again and give it another chance because we've had so many previous positive experiences, but at this point would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Elegant dining after church - to our surprise the shrimp & grits are THE BEST in the ATL (trust we've been to several establishments that were absolutely atrocious and highly $$$$)! The crepe was OK (too hard, was expecting a delicate texture but the fruit was delicious), and the smoked salmon croissant was divine - the 2nd time around as my first order was not prepared the way I ordered with the cream cheese on the side, it ended up coming out dry with no cream cheese! My bestfriend and I dined here for both of our birthdays and had a pleasant overall experience. We were immediately greeted and sat with menus. Our server later gave us our drinks and took our orders. He was very nice and answered all of our questions concerning the menu. As appetizer we ordered the baked brie. This dish was my most favorite by far! The apple smoked bacon added so much delicious flavor to the brie, it was mouth watering. For entree I ordered the shrimp and mushroom risotto. The risottos texture was fine but the flavor was something I couldn't put my finger on. The dish was alright enough for me to eat. The flavor was something that just took time for me to get familiar with. My friends seafood pappardelle did not have that many seafood as she would have liked considering the price of the dish. Towards the end of our meal our waiter surprised us with a slice of cake that looked as if it were a brownie cake (it was not a brownie cake though) with a scoop of icecream on the side. Either one of us told him it was our birthday but he judged from the birthday gift bag we had and brought the complimentary dessert to us! Super easy and we were easily seated as soon as we came in even though the place was extremely busy. Food: Everything on the menu looked delicious. We ended up ordering a mimosa ($5) and a peach bellini ($7) for our drinks and the mini croissant basket ($5) to start. The peach bellini was perfect and sweet. The mini croissant basket was the best thing in the world. It was perfectly sweet and buttery and soft. All good and delicious. My boyfriend even ordered a second basket after because he loved it so much. We also ordered the oxtail grit bowl ($18) and the short rib hash ($18). Both came with so much meat. The short rib and oxtail were super tender and we enjoyed our meal immensely. Will definitely be returning soon! read more

So glad I stopped in for a weekday lunch! This restaurant has been open for several months now and appears to have some regulars. The interior is very clean and beautifully decorated with classy, elegant, Feench themed (ooo la la the chandeliers)!!! There are booths that line the wall and a smaller area towards the back. La Belle Vie is located in a shopping center (so be sure to use your GPS). It was around 11:30am and there was only one other table seated. By the time I left they had about 4 other tables so it was not an overwhelming lunch crowd. I'd say this would be a great place for a meeting with girlfriends or a business lunch. Literally out of 5 tables, two were women celebrating birthdays, and there was only one guy in the place! Lol. There was only one server for the 5 tables so she started to get a little harried, but luckily the GM stepped in and helped out. I ordered the crossiants (please note they are ONLY available at brunch) which arrived piping hot on French theme newspaper. They were pretty small, from the pictures I assumed they were regular sized, but I were 4 mini crossiants. They were delicious but the large sea salt pieces kind of threw off the delicious honey flavor. They reminded me of mini versions of the amazing crossiants at California Dreaming (sans salt). I also ordered the Burger at the recommendation of my server. It was wonderful. Literally very juicy......very.. (grease, juice, whatever you call it.. still a great burger). The bacon was cooked well and the brie cheese was melted (super delicious) perfectly paired with a side of crispy French fries. I would definitely order this again. We've been here several times....the most recent for Sunday brunch, and I've officially added them to my "Favorite Restaurants in Atlanta" list. Everything from the ambiance of the restaurant, the amazing food, and the stellar service is 100% spot on. La Belle Vie is a French inspired restaurant and is such a cozy place to go, whether for lunch, a dinner date, or Sunday brunch - it's an elegant restaurant that is decorated beautifully. Marble tabletops, crystal chandeliers, fresh flowers on the tables....so nice!! The waitstaff is gracious and attended to our every need, and the food.....WOW!! My wife & I have been for both lunch and brunch, and were blown away both times. On our lunch visit, I ordered the Nicoise Tuna Salad and she got the Smoked Chicken & Kale Salad for lunch - both were Jam Up!!! Their brunch is next level. We went with a party of 8 and I got to try a big variety of different things....every item was out of this world good. They were super busy on a Sunday at 1:00 (Atlanta is a brunchin' town ya know!!), but they were so gracious and arranged for a table for us. The food was a bit delayed due to the big rush, but the hostess (the owners wife) brought us out complimentary croissants for the table while we waited. They are literally melt in your mouth good, and had a honey/sweet cream glaze with flecks of salt on the top - I could have had 10 of these things!!! When the food arrived, every item was perfect and so delicious. Everyone in our party was very impressed. This is a great way to spend a Sunday around brunch-time. La Belle Vie opened around December last year. I've heard great things about this new little addition, especially for dinner service. We came for brunch recently and was promptly seated with our reservation. As others have mentioned, they have yet to obtain their liquor license yet. On the beverages menu, there's a sake-based mojito and bloody berry, and a few flavored champagne spritzers. Mine looked poorly mixed as the powder clinged onto the glass. To start, we had Mini Croissants and the Oxtail Eggs Benedict Toast to share, including steel cut oats. Turns out, their brunch menu is outdated; it was no longer available. I ordered steak and eggs over-easy. Steak was okay, but the eggs were fully cooked. My companions enjoyed Chicken + Waffles and the Pork Belly BLT. The Le Belle Vie burger could use thinner cuts of brie cheese. Overall, it's 2/5 for Meh, I've Experienced Better. Maybe it was an off day - our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the order for our party. It seemed like she wasn't able to keep up with what we ordered when the final check came to, but made the changes promptly. May be ideal to wait off for them to work out their kinks for brunch hours. read more

On sundays they only serve brunch so we didn't get to try dinner dishes but will be back to try. We started with the sweet honey glazed croissant. I don't like croissants but I was so hungry I didn't care. They were like tiny bits of heaven. So fluffy and slightly sweet with a sprinkle of sea salt. Oh I can still remember how it tastes. My friend and I ordered the smoked salmon, I mean, it's a classic for brunch. Def enjoyed the lox and the capers on top of bread. It comes with eggs too but, I gave it away. The three boys ordered their award winning burger three years in a row according to the waitress. I don't remember what it's called but they devoured it. They especially liked it because it was topped with three types of meat and it was juicy and came with fries. My friends wife ordered the soft shelled crab, can't go wrong with that. We went there on a Saturday for brunch between soccer games. 1- The place is cute and well maintain 2- Service : our server was very average, she asked us twice for our order, for each of our dishes. It took a while to have our plates ... I ordered the egg with lobster cake : it as just ok my husband got the steak with egg : he asked for medium rare and it came well done .. we did not complain because we had to go back at soccer. 2 kids menu for the boys 3- Pricing : we paid ~70$ before tip I think it was pretty expensive for brunch with an average quality and mediocre service. In the end nothing really French with what we tried, there is much better selection to other places around.
