We trekked out to this bakery right around opening in hopes to have access to all options. We weren't the only ones so you should be there early since they have short hours. We tried the low gluten bread loaf. It was very crispy on the outside but super doughy and fluffy on the inside. I could do with a slightly softer crust but my partner loved the hard type. He also enjoyed the sugar pastry too. Everything is super fresh. If you're in the neighborhood you should stop by. I do wonder if they have the option to slice the loaves for you on site. read more

This is the best ham and cheese baguette I've had in nyc. Get their truffle goat cheese chorizo bread, it's sooo good. Their baguettes are great and reasonably priced $2. They have a ton of pastures, the choc o pain was all right but the almond one was great. Didn't get a chance to try their croissant but will next time! This place has a long line in the morning and only opens until 1pm. So go early!! read more

It's so refreshing to have a French Bakery with the most gracious counter staff. I went this rainy morning with my niece and both the counter guy and the lady in the front were extremely, kind, patient and accommodating not to mentioned the Baker. I'm delighted that La Bicyclette has managed to stay afloat during this pandemic. We were not able to get the artisan baguette since they sold out but we got the second best Pave bread, chocolate and plain croissants, financier cookies, Parisian flan and the most amazing quiche. read more

This place is absolutely worth setting an alarm for - get there when they open and you'll have your pick of the quality goods! It's definitely a quality over quantity situation - the selection isn't overwhelming, and anything/everything you get will taste AMAZING. I had a palmier, some kind of fruit filled danish ambrosia deliciousness, and the jamon sandwich. NOM. Friendly service. We came around noon so they were already sold out of many items. We ate at a couple park benches placed outside the bakery. We got a chausson aux pommes, and jamon and comte baguette. The baguette itself was crusty but easy to bite, great chew and the chausson was equally delicious! The woman running the register today was so incredibly nice and upbeat on this gloomy day. She gave me a good suggestion on what to buy when something I wanted was sold out and very helpful. PLEASE USE BAKERY TISSUE! This is my favorite bakery in Williamsburg but the lack of using bakery tissue to serve all viennoiseries and breads has left me thinking. I was here a week ago and when I ordered the guy touched the screen with his gloves then proceeded to get a bag and place the baked goods in the bag...without ANY barrier between the food item and his gloves. I forgot to mention he did also adjust his mask prior to attending to me. So, ALL I ASK..to the owner is please invest in getting bakery tissue to handle food. I've been wanting to try this place out for some time now and finally had a chance. The 45 minute drive was 100% worth it. I got there a few minutes before they opened because I was expecting a line on a Saturday morning, but there was only one person ahead of me (it was also cold and rainy) so that was nice. I got croissants, a baguette, and a ham sandwich. I was not expecting the sandwich to be that great for some reason, but it definitely was great. The croissants are super flaky and buttery. The baguette is tasty and has a nice crunch. I wish there was space for indoor seating, but no big deal. Within the 5 minutes I was inside, a line had formed behind me. I've been coming here since the first week the lovely young French guy opened up. Pretty much every type of bread you buy here will be amazing - I'm a big fan of the pain de campagne and the miche.
