Didn't expect to find some of the best crawfish at a Mexican restaurant, but here we are Perfectly seasoned, spicy with just the right kick, and soaked in flavor down to the last bite. The crawfish were fresh, juicy, and easy to peel (which matters if you know, you know). Whatever blend of spices they're using--keep doing that! And somehow it gets even better paired with a cold margarita and chips & salsa on the side. The mix of bold Cajun flavor with a laid-back Mexican restaurant vibe just works. My wife and I have loved La Brisa for many years. We had our first date there in 2013 and even held our rehearsal dinner there in 2016. It has always been our go-to spot for great food and excellent service, so naturally, we chose it again to celebrate a special evening with our daughter. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to the experiences we've had in the past. From the moment we arrived, our waitress seemed disengaged and not very attentive. When we asked if our daughter's drink could be made a little special--with a cherry and a fun glass--it felt like an inconvenience rather than a simple request. The food was still delicious, which we appreciate, but we've noticed portions have gradually become smaller over the years while prices continue to rise. More disappointing, though, was the service, which fell short of what we've come to expect from a place that has meant so much to us. We order the family pack fajitas and bring it home. We've done this several times w/o any issues. iMO- best deal around. Quality, quantity, fresh home tortillas and always very kind. What else can ask for right?? We normally get a couple tres leches which is good. I'm a flan fiend. My beautiful wife surprised me. Everyone has their "taste" for foods. If you're ever in Bacliff, Tx., near Kemah, you have to try this flauta stack, there are 12 small flautas sitting on a bed of refried beans and queso, guacamole and more queso in between each so ack of 3 flauta, then topped with pico de gallo and more queso, it was soooo delicious, they have inside and outside dining, oh and that watermelon marg wa on point too and the service is always good and very nice staff read more

My husband and I were on this side of town so we thought we'd drop in for a quick snack and drinks before Happy Hour ended. We barely made Happy Hour. I think we got there maybe 5 mins before 7pm. So we only had time to order 1 drink. My husband tried to order another drink under Happy Hour but they wouldn't let him. Some restaurants will but they didn't. No biggie. We sat outside which was our first mistake. It had been raining so it was very muggy. The fans were on and helped some but the humidity was really high. Yuck. The biggest complaint were the flies. They were out of control. I couldn't even enjoy my food and drinks because of how many were swarming around us. It started with 1, then 2. Then there were like 5-6 and then like 10-12!! We had to hurry and eat/drink because it was ridiculous. Next, the food was very mediocre. We got the chicken flauta stack. This dish has so much potential but it's so bland. We were adding red sauce to spice it up. Our server wasn't super friendly. We usually go to the La Brisa in League City. Everyone is much friendlier there! Their watermelon margarita is amazing! I was just here for a high school reunion. The food was fine and the queso was yummy. The party room that my group rented was all open air and was relatively comfortable considering how hot it is in Houston in July. We were outside for 4 hours and more comfortable than I expected. Lots of fans to cool guests and to keep bugs away. The only unacceptable part is that they served the group with plastic disposable cups and the woman's bathroom is broken (water in toilet wouldn't fill back up to flush without you physically holding down the plunger to let the back of the toilet refill). This is a go to place for me since Happy Hour is all day and the service is always top notch. Food is always hot and delicious too. Not pictures - queso but not the white. It is on the menu and the manager promised it was coming ... They have a huge palapa are with outdoor fans, an indoor eating area and my fav in the summer - a 21 and up inside bar you can eat in. Any other season, we eat outside and love it. They also have an upstairs afternoon/evening 21 and up patio, but not sure it is pleasant in 100+ temps. Always a great place to stop and get really good Mexican Food! This has been a staple here in Bacliff for years! The ambience and very courteous and helpful wait staff is second to none. There are two full bars and more than one dining area to accommodate all in your party. We had a party of 8 on this day and we were promptly seated and chips and salsa were brought out to our table. We ordered three bowls of queso which here they bring it out accompanied with slices of pickled and fresh jalapenos asking with some pico de Gallo. I ordered the beef enchiladas along with two crispy beef tacos ala carte. My wife had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, others had the cheese enchiladas, and one had a chicken quesadilla. I give 2 stars only because our server was nice. The food was terrible. Reminded me of some failed attempts at Mexican food of my own that I threw away. They did have some jalapeño dip that they give with the salsa that was delicious. I could have eaten that all day. Just forget the rest of the food. Update: We have returned and the green sauce with the chips is still delicious, but worst service ever! It took 15 minutes to get our drinks. Then they forgot to bring us chips and salsa. Then when our food came we asked for chips and salsa. The bartender said "Oh, they didn't bring it to you yet?" Then we had to ask for silverware. Just mediocre food here. I really wanted to add a great review but our food and service proved otherwise. It's not bad but two out of three plates were wrong. The tortillas had been warmed in the microwave before rolling them instead of oil softening. We didn't get the cheese enchilada as requested. Our friends plate was not ground beef as he had asked for. The so called cheesy puff taco was a tostada shell with nacho sauce. The iced tea was very weak. Cmon tea bags are cheap. I live not far from this place and intended to try it sooner, but mixed reviews from friends kept me at bay. I understand the spectrum of opinions about this place, but I'll lean more to the positive side. First, this restaurant takes up some real estate. Want to come with a group? They have you covered. Want to bring the whole company, class reunion or congregation? I think they can find a spot for you in their dimly lit, clean and comfortable digs. Service here on our visit was excellent. Everything was refilled in a timely manner and orders came out correctly, despite that we special ordered (no onions on this, queso on that) every meal. The food itself seems fresh and there's plenty on your plate. I could do without the shredded American cheese on my tostada or as the base for the queso, but this is apparently the norm around here. Rice and beans were good. Chimichanga was nicely seasoned and enough for two meals. The salsa: I'm a salsa snob and this restaurant follows three of the basic rules for good table salsa: There is no cumin in it; the consistency is a nice balance between thin and chunky; and it's served cold. It is specked with pepper and cilantro, but it's missing the heat. Seriously, there's no heat at all, which might well be by design. -- The green avocado sauce is standard but good. Bottom line: Reasonable prices, plenty of hot fresh food, a clean atmosphere and good service are all reasons to come back. I only wish they could procure some Cheddar for the queso and jalapeños for the table salsa. read more

I like this place don't get me wrong but that's last couple times I've ordered it has not been good. 18.99 for carnitas and they were so dry you needed a glass of water to eat it with.there was no tasted it was basic. 15 dollars for street tacos that barely had any meat in them. Seriously the taco truck will give me more than you did tonight and their refried beans wouldn't look like soup. All an all I'm losing faith in this restaurant. If they don't get my order wrong then they give me bad food. Consistency is all I ask for. Came here with my friend to get lunch after hearing about their drink specials. The margaritas are okay , too juicy for my liking and the salsa is great and had a nice kick to it. Unfortunately when we got out door my friend had a hair in his plate and when I spoke to the manager he informed us that they wear hair nets and that he would only be able to comp half of his meal. Service was okay and my food was great overall. To be perfectly fair a large part of why I hold this restaurant in such high regard is that this restaurant was the situs of my "I passed the Texas bar exam!" celebration with what I had considered at that point in time to be the love of my life. Not all things last in life, but the greatness of La Brisa is something that has remained rock-steady on the days to celebrate as well as the days that you just really want your table lit up with the sizzling, crackling sound of some tasty fajitas. For those of you coming from inside the loop you might be familiar with how the parking situation is just complete rubbish at Chuy's on Westheimer, the most reasonably similar "competitor" in the loop Tex-Mex restaurant for comparison purposes. Parking is not a problem at La Brisa, there is plenty of parking and I have been here at several different "peak" windows on several different nights. I have never gotten frustrated and bounced out in fury here, although that seems to happen at least once a week at Chuy's and the Taco Bell on Vermont really thanks Chuy's for all the business that gets tossed their way. So you walk in from the parking lot and you can choose to sit in the outside "bar area" either at the bar, like on stools, or at the tables set up. On certain nights there is live music outside. Sitting outside is fun when the weather is nice - and you get easy access to the bar, which you do need to take into consideration at certain points on nights when the margarita draws you in more than the sizzling fajitas. Should you choose to sit at the bar like on bar stools, the host/hostess "stand" (for lack of a better term) is at the right side and if you are trying to have a private moment or discuss the Wall Street Journal, pretty much everything you say is going to get overheard - so if you need to try out some new material for open mic night at the comedy club, try it out here first and see if you can get any chuckles. If you choose to go inside you walk in to meet the hostess. The hostess I always get is one of the nicest, friendliest, willing-to-bend-over-backwards to make you enjoy your wait kind of person I have ever met. I actually feel complimented and good about myself by just standing there. I am horrible with names - and my physical descriptions are rarely flattering - but she is the skinny lady that is older than me and because of how nice she is, you can pretty much spot her from the first words out of her mouth. She is an awesome person that sets a great welcoming tone to the restaurant. The layout inside is pretty typical. The restrooms are straight back and on the right, near the booths and alcoves of tables. It took me a minute to track them down, so I just saved you one minute of your life. I really do not like namedropping people in my reviews because it always seems to blow up in my face, but we had Patsy as our server and she was awesome. She was on top of everything from beginning to end. Had I not just used my last gold star in my sticker package to reward myself for passing the bar exam, I would have given her a gold star sticker. The food comes in huge portions. That is coming from me, and I tend to eat everything in sight and then order dessert and then go out for ice cream afterward. Two big eaters could not finish a feast consisting of: a small order of queso with chips (which "small" is misleading as it was nearly the size of a bucket) and a one-person order of the poblano fajitas. It is soooo much food - and I loved that. The prices are extremely low for how much food you can feast on, bring it home for leftovers, and still have another feast later on. For an in the loop comparison against Chuy's: the food quality is way better at La Brisa. The staff is so much nicer and more friendly at La Brisa. And the outside patio area at La Brisa is not plagued with a zombie swarm of drunken loud buffoons like Chuy's typically is. Yeah it is a serious drive out there if you are coming from inside the loop - but I think it is totally worth it. Consider it like a trip to Hogsmeade and enjoy the journey! I visited La Brisa's Bacliff/Hwy 146 location on a Thursday for lunch. Service was a bit slow, which was surprising because the restaurant was not busy and there appeared to be a number of waitstaff just "hanging around" while patron's kids were running around and being noisy. I ordered the Carne Flameada (grilled beef skirt steak, topped with chorizo, grilled onions and melted cheese) which also came with a side of rice and beans. The beef was nice and tender, although a bit smaller than I am accustomed to, while the rice and beans were just standard fare (nothing special or particularly outstanding). Their green salsa was better than average, however. Prices were a bit higher than I expected, but I guess they have to make up the cost of the new facility they just built in League City. They also seem to be pushing to become the "McDonalds" of Mexican Food -- and create a "family friendly" environment -- which means they are trying to "entertain" kids by installing playground equipment and making the experience "fun"...Thats all good if you have kids, but if not, it leads to a very "loud" dining experience. Overall, its just "average" Tex-Mex food. Nothing spectacular, and I probably wouldn't wait in line to eat there. But all in all, if you like Tex-Mex and want to let your kids run rampant during dinner, this place would probably fit the bill. read more

2 changes as of yesterday. Prices have increased across the board and the Tacos Campechenos are now on the Baycliff menu every day. Margaritas are now 3 bucks at happy hour. Still a great value though with fajitas for 2 coming in at 21 bucks. Ok so I eat at both locations weekly. Why? It is a great value and the food is good. I read some reviews where people said it is pricey? Please maybe when compared to Taco Bell but these people are out of their minds. I can feed a family of 4 with margaritas for me and my wife for less than 40 bucks(with tip). They have good salsa, cheap and strong margaritas, ample portions, and friendly staff. My wife usually splits the fajitas for 1 with one of my kids and they have some left to take home. They have daily specials and even their top shelf margaritas are cheap compared to Papasitos or Berryhills regular margaritas. My favorite is the Tacos Campechenos with chorizo,pork tenderloin, and beef fajita. It is a special in Bacliff but on the regular menu in League city. They constantly have new things and are always checking to see if you have enjoyed your meal. Happy hour is every day and last until 7pm. read more
