Well we didn't even get to try the food!! When we walked in the women pointed to a small table for 2 in the corner and then we were ignored!! This was a perfect experience. The menu is extensive. Kids can get pizza, pasta, calzones. We ordered appetizer of squid which was amazing. Cannelloni and lasagna (the best) were delicious. This restaurant was close to our hotel and had a lot of American ppl eating here. The food was very tasty. We had the bruschetta to start with that was very fresh. My husband had the carbonara and he loved it. I had the egg plant parmigiana which was baked in a small dish with some pasta which was also very tasty. Most places here charge a fee for the bread and water as well as a service fee. They offer other suggestions but don't always tell you it is an extra charge so ask! No tipping is required but if you have good service it is a nice thing to do. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us right away. Service is good. read more

This restaurant is very yummy, has very fresh food at reasonable prices, and has staff who are extremely attentive!! My husband and I found this place a few years ago when we found it by staying at the Marriott down the road. We loved it then, and it hasn't changed. I brought my 27 year old son this time, and we've eaten here twice because he wanted to eat here. They give you very yummy bread. They do charge for water, but so do most places around town. The caprese includes very tasty tomatoes and a yummy ball for the mozzarella!! I added olives to my pizza, and it was outstanding! I highly recommend this place!! read more

Please don't come to this place might look cheap but at the end of it they add 3 hidden fees which makes the check way more. The waiter asked if we wanted appetizers we said no and the waiter brought us bread and normally every time a restaurant give you bread its free but no they charged 7 euros for bread that was stale and didn't even tell us that you had to pay for it. Food is so so at best. Beware that they will charge 2 service fees. Maybe they just took advantage of us, but charged 3 euro a head and then added a 12% service charge on top of it. Between the bread the water and their service charge we were charged 25% on top of our bill. The server (a woman) was super rude on top of it. Hate having forced service charges for rude service. Upon reviewing the bill I asked "what is this charge for 18.50 euros"?, the waiter or possibly the owner said "oh that's for bread". Having owned a restaurant and understanding the daily challenges, I like to support small business and I'm cautious not to be unreasonable when writing a review, in fact this the first 2stars I've ever given, I think is very unreasonable charging us 18.50 euros for 2 baskets of simple bread we didn't order and didnt finished, it was more expensive that all the other plates we ordered. I wish I could agree with all the great reviews, but I was less than underwhelmed by La Bruschetta. I stopped in for a late lunch a few days ago and had a flavorless dish of pasta with tomatoes and basil. (There was just a sprig of basil perched on top.) But I cut the place some slack because it was clear that they'd just dealt with a big lunch rush--there were dirty plates, cups, and bottles piled up on several tables. Tonight, in a fit of laziness, I decided to give this place another try. (It's one of the closest restaurants to my hotel, so...) I walked up and asked for a to-go order of tagliolini with pesto and a caprese salad. I was ushered in to pay, and the amount on the register didn't tally with the total I'd calculated, so I repeated my order. He rang it up again--correctly, this time--and I was on my way in under 10 minutes. When I got back to my hotel room, I found that I did not get a caprese salad; instead, I had one container with a hunk of mozzarella in it and another container with a few slices of prosciutto, which I try to avoid. Sigh... And, while the flavor of the pesto was salty but fine, the pasta was really thick and undercooked. There's al dente, and there's just not cooked enough. This was definitely the latter. So disappointing. With so many restaurants within a few steps, it will be easy to give La Bruschetta a miss from now on. read more

We were staying at a hotel close by. Due to just arriving in Rome, found it convenient to eat there both nights. We enjoyed all of the food that we had, both pastas and pizza. The wait staff was friendly and we felt very comfortable there. We were hungry the first night so took the bread (yes extra charge) but did not take it the 2nd night. Truly every aspect of the service was wrong or slow. We got the wrong food, and they didn't take our order for 30 minutes. We asked to place our order after waiting, and they still went inside and we waited even longer. We never got one item we ordered. The main course was wrong the first time. Really horrific. And a 12% service fee was included in the bill on top of it. The waiter was even mad at us for coming inside with our card because we were tired of waiting for the bill. The capers, mozzarella and anchovies pizza was yummy but other entrees of veal and gnocchi with clams were both delish while dinning Al Fresco. We enjoyed the home made tiramisu for dessert which was creamy and rich. The service from the waiters were stellar both times we visited. Three at the very best. We were looking for a lunch spot close enough to our hotel. Honestly we would have been better off going elsewhere. I know that the European was is to enjoy your food, but service was slow, even to take our orders. Kills me since the staff seem friendly. We ordered the smoked salmon bruschetta to share, and I got the mixed veggies pizza, and he got the spicy sausage pizza. We were brought a ton of bread and eventually were brought our olive oil and balsamic. The smoked salmon bruschetta was great with a nice hunk of mozzarella and the smoked salmon covering the whole piece of bread. It was slightly fishier though then most smoked salmon I've had. After awhile, both pizzas came out. We both enjoyed my mixed veggies pizza with zucchini, eggplant and bell pepper slices more than his spicy sausage. The veggies were marinated but I felt like the pizza needed some more oomph so I asked for some chili flakes as well. It was okay pizza but not a standout. Honestly, I prefer some of the Neapolitan pizza I've had back home and in NYC, and the spot we went to in Florence was much better. Each pizza yielded 6 slices and we brought some back to our hotel. The pizzas in my opinion were a little on the pricey side for the quality (around 12-14 Euros). But what kills me is, they threw our uneaten bread from our bread basket back in their bread bin. That's so gross! I don't want to be eating bread that others have touched or could have partially eaten. Maybe we got the wrong things and should have gotten entrees or pasta. I would give La Bruschetta a 2.5 but I'm rounding up to a generous 3. You can definitely find better spots for a meal in the area. read more

Decent food - been in Rome for 3 days and Barcelona for 7 and the pizza here is moderately okay compared to other spots. The staff was friendly and service was on par. The espresso was BURNT - do not order. Also was way overcharged - city fee (IVA), bread fee (per person) and servizio fee. La Bruschetta is a hidden gem in Italy! One of the locals recommended it to us, but we were hesitant to go due to the sub-par reviews. It turned out to be so good that we went there several days in our trip! The service is excellent, and the food, especially the pasta, is great. It's also very family-friendly with the waiters/waitresses talking to the kids to check on how they are doing throughout the meal.
