This is right next door to my favorite car wash, so while the car is being attended to, I head over to pick up dinner to take home. The burgers and fries are pretty much what you'd expect from a stand in WeHo - which is to say better than your average fast food burger but not the best ever. I like the veggie burrito - although I wish they used re-fried beans instead of whole beans. But the addition of lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes makes the burrito taste a lot fresher than most standard bean burritos. My favorite thing is the cheese quesadilla. Yes, that's a pretty easy dish to make (hell, I can even make one), but something elevates the quesadilla at La Buns. I'm not sure what it is - maybe the mix of of cheeses or the perfect sear. I was starving. Ravenous. I need Mexican food all the time and at odd hours. I live in Beverly Hills so I thought this place would be a great place to frequent for my late night snacks. I arrived at 11:45 pm. The place was dead. 1 beef quesadilla and 1 veggie burrito please. No salsa or onions or anything on either item please. 10 minutes later I got my food. I drove home. Opened the burrito first. It was cold outside and in. It had everything in it that I did not want. It tasted disgusting. I threw it away. Next I opened up the quesadilla. It was so small!! It was cut in three sections. I gobbled that up. I have to admit. That quesadilla was good! My experience was ruined overall. I'm still hungry. I used to come here often for lunch (2 or 3 times a week) when I went to high school down the street. Since I moved out of state, when I visit Los Angeles, LA Buns is the first place I go to.
