We were visiting from out of town and found this by chance. Yum! I had the beef and oxtail soup. I love homemade soup and this did not disappoint. My daughter had the whole tilapia and my husband had a carne asada dish. It was all fresh, delicious and served piping hot. I highly recommend this restaurant.

La Cabaña is just a fun experience. It looks and feels like you're walking into someone's home to have dinner with them. Everyone here (me) is ready to stuff their face, kick back with a modelo, and watch some soccer, which you will find on TV no matter what time of the year you walk in. This menu is huge. If you don't have any familiarity with South American food, you should look up the pictures on here ahead of time. But no matter what you do, you have to order a few papusas. These disks are stuffed with all sorts of flavors, and come with an awesome cole slaw to balance it out. The entrees are an EXPERIENCE too. I've gotten the molcajete a few times, and it is packed to the brim with everything that you could possibly want. Carne asada , chorizo , cheese , nopales (I didn't even know that I wanted this) , and much more is served piping hot with tortillas on the side. I love coming here, and I'm looking forward to the next time I can come back to try something new.

Was meeting friends for lunch Sunday one of the was visiting from the east coast and was staying in the Greenwood area and suggested meeting here. So glad he did cause I really wouldn't have known about it though a few days after we decided to meet here it was on a list of best places to eat. Our friend visiting had been here a couple years ago while attending graduate school. First off just want to say the service is friendly and patient for most first timers making decisions on protein and type of tortilla. We did family style with an app and two entrees glad we didn't go with three like my friend fellow yelper Brian C suggested. Out order: Plato Guanaco (El Salvador): 1 pupusa, 1 tamale, 2 pastelitos, yuca, chicharrones, and deep-fried ripe plantain. Garnished with pickled slaw and pico de gallo, El Casado (Costa Rica): We selected chicken as our protein. Served with rice, beans, fried sweet plantains, pico de gallo, freshly made tortillas, and pickled cabbage, Molcajete (Specialty of the House) This traditional dish comes to you from Mexico. We layer carne asada, chorizo, nopal, queso fresco, avocado slices, and one jalapeno in a steaming hot molcajete stone. We top this delicious dish with our house-made spicy red sauce. It is served with rice, beans, and freshly made tortillas. I would probably try something else over the El Casado next time it was good but not as different as the other dishes. I'm a big fan of pupusas and the Plato Guanaco is a great intro to Salvadorian food. Flavors were on point and it had a variety of textures comes with the traditional pickled cabbage which is always nice helps brighten things ip and cuts through the richness of some of the proteins. The Molcajete os a very impressive dish presentation wise and tasty. Takes a little more effort as you'll need to cut up some of the vegetables and protein but the sauce is so full of depth and flavor. I had never had anything like it before one of our friends had it in Mexico and suggested it. Come out bubbling in a stone bowl. We were too full for dessert but I'm sure what they offer was probably good. I took a bus but there is large parking lot. Two, six and four top tables. Believe there is a bar but we were in the main part of the restaurant. They had a steady flow of customers flowing in and out which was great to see. Definitely will be back if in the area.

Their food literally blew me away. I came out of the restaurant a different person, fuller and way way happier. It's one of those dining experiences that left me wanting to hug the people that made the food and they're a small family business which made it even better. We really didn't know what to expect going in and went by pictures and descriptions to put our orders in since we aren't very familiar with Honduran/El Salvadoran food but we we're not disappointed. The Plato Guanaco was essentially a sampler platter of a bunch of different items: Papusa, Tamale, Pastillos, and Plantains. I kid you not when I say that everything was the best version of that thing that I've ever had. Flavors 10/10, textures 10/10, freshness 10/10. It's quite insane. We also shared a plate of the Bistecca which initially looked like the meat would be dry but we're so wrong. Tender and flavorful, the meat paired so perfectly with the rice that was full of different beans and the fresh corn tortillas on the sid were so warm and soft while super thick. Food was so heavenly and portion was great. Service was also sweet. Really a MUST if you're in the area. Heck even if you're not, travel there cause it'd be worth it.

This might have been hands down the best latin food I've ever had! The meat was tender, everything was made fresh to order, and somehow across half a dozen completely different dishes every single one of them was the best version of that dish I've ever had. Coming here was really like being fed mouthfulls of joy and happiness. I really haven't had such a wonderful meal in a long time! Service was really nice and the interior cool and clean. We went to La Cabana on Thanksgiving, 11/27/25 around 8 PM for a family dinner, and honestly, it ended up being one of the best decisions we made that day. We weren't sure what to expect since it was a holiday and places can be hectic, but the moment we walked in, everything felt relaxed and welcoming. Nicole, our server, set the tone right away. She was unbelievably kind, patient, warm, and just really genuine in the way she took care of us. She checked in on us multiple times, made sure we had everything we needed, and even gave us suggestions that ended up being some of our favorite dishes of the night. It's rare to get service that feels personal without being over the top, but she balanced it perfectly. The rest of the staff was also friendly, and the place itself was super clean and cozy, which made our Thanksgiving dinner feel even more special. We ended up ordering a little bit of everything because their menu has so many different Central American dishes, flavors from Honduras, El Salvador, and all over. You can tell the food comes from people who know their roots, because everything was packed with flavor. The Chips con Salsa were fresh, crispy, and the salsa had that perfect kick. The Frijol con Queso was creamy and comforting, the kind of dish you just keep going back to. The Tamales de Pollo were honestly out of this world, soft, perfectly seasoned, and probably some of the best tamales we've ever had. We also tried the Margarita with the maracuya add-on, which was refreshing in the best way. The Revueltas pupusas were cheesy, filling, and full of flavor, and the Tilapia Frita came out with that perfect crisp on the outside while still being tender inside the seasoning was just perfect. The Camarones Rancheros had bold, rich flavors that stood out, and the Frijoles Fritos tied everything together like comfort on a plate. Even the smaller items felt thoughtful and well-prepared. What impressed us most was how fast everything came out, and it was all hot, like actually hot, not lukewarm or rushed. And the portion sizes were huge, more than worth what we paid. Even on a busy holiday, the food felt homemade, like someone was really putting love into every dish instead of just sending it out quickly. That mix of speed, quality, and comfort is something you don't find everywhere. By the time we were done, we were stuffed, happy, and honestly surprised at how much we enjoyed the whole experience. It didn't just feel like a dinner, it felt like a really warm, relaxed celebration with good food and good people. We walked out already planning when we'd be back. A huge thank you to Nicole for making our Thanksgiving dinner feel so special. She truly made the night for us, and La Cabana definitely earned a spot on our list of places to return to.

Definitely an experience in Latin cuisine from all different parts of South America. The dishes Definitely felt different from a Mexican restaurant and the atmosphere felt like a bar. The menu was split by the country's and had bar menu also.

Was rec'd this place by many locals and I was a big fan! Maybe I was just super hungry post hike (also a certified big back, in general), but I inhaled everything on the plate and thought everything worked super well together. My homie had a very different experience, however. He ordered the "bandeja centroamericana" and wasn't a fan of how dry everything tasted. Maybe it was just his taste buds, maybe that's just how the dish is supposed to be... either way I ended up eating the majority of his plate, too lmaooo.

Our go-to for authentic pupusas. Their selection is great, loroco and the bean and cheese is my favorite when the cheese oozes out all crispy. Their aqua frescas are so refreshing and different. Their passion fruit and tamarindo is so good and has a special flavor you can't find anywhere else. The service is amazing, primarily Spanish speaking but that is not a problem. Just point to what you want. The old restaurant is tight and snugged but it's great to walk in and see it filled up. They recently expended next door too. The parking is small but perfect for this restaurant. I love their tamales as well. So fresh and just how I like it, the Salvadoran way.

Incredible!! I grew up eating pupusas and the revueltas (bean/cheese/chicharron) here are to die for. Bonus that the staff are so kind and welcoming. Ambiance is very mom-and-pop, and most of the dishes are large so I recommend ordering family style. Note that even though they offer tacos/burritos, this isn't a quick-service taqueria so expect lengthy sit-down wait times (but everything comes out piping hot so it's worth it!). Stopping in for lunch, we wanted to sample a variety of items so we ordered the Plato Guanaco. All the items were good, but the chicken tamale and pupusa revuelta were highlights. Since they specialize in Honduran cuisine, we also ordered the Salpicon. This was on the drier side, but it tastes great mixed with the house spicy salsa. It comes with homemade corn tortillas (not pictured), which were fresh and delicious. Overall I highly recommend La Cabaña for lunch, and I'll definitely be back to try their breakfast!

Amazing food and huge portions size. The Plato Guanaco wax enough for 2. Will be back next time we come to Seattle.

Food is pretty good. Although I do wish they used hand made tortillas for the baleadas instead of the raw ones you can get at your local store. I honestly felt I was eating food I can just cook at home. I was expecting hand made home made tortillas. The Pupusas were delicious though! Full of cheese and excellent flavor! Best item I had on the menu. Tacos ehh I'll stick to a Mexican taco truck. And super teeny for their expensive price tag. I mean I'd go back if I was in the area again. Just probably try other items off the menu. read more

Cozy mum and pop restaurant with deliciously cheap and authentic Honduran food. I love restaurants like this. The restaurant is a little out of the way but if you're like me and willing to go out of your way for some authentic food, this place is it. We came during the early hours of dinner time and you can tell the place has several regulars. The owners/staff engage in conversation with them like family and greet you in like a friend. Always consistently checking up on your table. At first, you may wonder why some plates are pretty expensive but worry not-- the portion sizes are HUGE. Looking at the menu, the options aren't strictly Honduran. These dishes were served differently as a representation of each country: Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, El Salavador--Central America region. Oh my god I just wanted to order everything! When I ordered the sope de gallina India, I didn't expect a large plate of buttery veggie rice and huge part of a roast chicken with an extra large serving size bowl of soup. I most definitely didn't finish my meal, but I didn't mind at all having leftovers to take home. And the homemade tortillas???? They are too die for! And let me tell you about the horchata. I have had lots of horchata in the PNW all the way to deep southern Cali (we're only comparing in U.S. because the real thing across the border as we all know is no competition) and they serve the best Horchata yet in Washington state. It isn't watery and actually has body to it, perfect sweetness and you can taste the significance of the spices. I'm so coming back for this. They have a little parking lot, so you'll find a spot in non-peak hours for sure. If not, there is neighborhood street parking. I love the owners, the lady is so sweet! This place is a staple for me, so many things to try off their menu still! read more

Great service, delicious and authentic food, fresh ingredients, etc, etc... I am so glad that my friend introduced me to this spot and I'm so excited to come back! I'll be honest - finding good Central American cuisine can be difficult, even in places like San Diego, where I'm originally from. You can find good spots, but they can lack flavor and authenticity. I am honestly surprised but happy to say that I found such a spot in Seattle, of all places! I think what makes La Cabaña great is that you get awesome customer service and delicious service without the frills of a fancy restaurant with bougie decorations. To be quite frank, hole in the wall establishments tend to be where the most authentic food is at, so don't be disillusioned by the homely feel of La Cabaña! I was excited to try all of the options, so my friend and I settled for ordering a little bit of everything. First off, we ordered a chicken & cheese pupusa, as well as an ayote & cheese pupusa. These were absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and I was very impressed with the taste and authenticity of the dough. If you're looking to try a little bit of everything, I definitely recommend the Plato Guanaco, which was a delicious Salvadorian platter that included a tamale, 2 pastelitos (AMAZING), fried yuca, pork chicharrones, and a fried plantain. Honestly - EVERY, SINGLE, ITEM was delicious! This was more than enough food for two people to share and my friend and I were both SUPER impressed with the quality and taste of the food and were left with curiosity to try the other dishes in the future. Overall, La Cabaña was authentic, affordable, and delicious, with friendly and great customer service to boot. I'll see you soon, La Cabaña! read more

This place is awesome. The serving sizes are super generous; shockingly so. I've eaten here a handful of times at this point and its become one of my favorites in Seattle. The food is authentic. I love this place! I eat here at least once a month. I get pastelitos with ground beef or taquitos fritos. Everything here is legit! Pupusas are 100%. Chorizo pupusa has to be my favorite. I also recommend the baliadas. Honestly, you'll enjoy anything you get on the menu. Lunch is pretty busy, especially on the weekends but service is good and the portions are decent sized. read more

If this was the last place I ate before I suddenly died, I would be nothing less than extremely satisfied with my life. I know, a little extreme? Yeah, no. This is the place to be.. Whether that be during a massive hangover, feeling homesick, or a tough day. This food will make you feel happy again. I didn't know that plantains could be so delicious, I had no clue that pupasas could be so soft. And don't even get me started on their EXCELLENT coffee, and did I mention they make their own tortillas? Yeah. AND TO THINK I WAS GOING TO GO TO SOME BURGER JOINT. First time visit 05/29/2021 1700hours. La Cabaña is limiting indoor sitting. Their front door was prop open. Plastic dividers are set up between tables. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Staff has knowledge of menu and are able to provide suggestions. As an appetizer we ordered chicken pastelitos. The chicken inside the pastelitos was seasoned and precooked nicely. Not just a blob of meat that you get at other places. Main entree plates are enough for x2 people to share. The homemade tortillas were the Best. Fresh and hot! Clean bathroom and upkeep cleaning between customers. We were greeted with ice water upon entering and offered a beverage. -1 for the Gallo pinto. I have had Gallo pinto before and La Cabana missed the frying process which gives Gallo pinto its signature texture that sets aside from being just rice & beans mixed together. My beef in Carne Encebollado was a bit gamey. Initially I thought I was eating liver. The meat was tender and alright taste. Will return to try other menu staples. read more

Being from the south, this is the first place my partner and I found that scratched the Latin cuisine itch. Not only it provide a good Mexican food feel, but also introduced us to so many South American food we've never tried before. The chicken frita, enchiladas, and toquitos fritos are insanely delicious. Consumer beware, this is not light & healthy food, but heavy and good after a night of drinking or simply treating yourself. read more

If you want to culture yourself and get a taste of the best authentic Central American food in Seattle, this is the place to go. I always get the Desayuno Centro Americano. You eat that dish for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even a midnight snack. --Highly recommend getting the house specialty drinks. Horchata, Tamarindo, Nance, Maracuya, etc. They're all exquisite and tasteful. read more

One of my coworkers recommended this place and being originally from El Salvador, I'm Always looking for some good Central American food. This place was AMAZING! I used to live in SoCal where good Mexican and Central American cuisine was literally a block away and one of my big complaints about Seattle was how relatively bland everything is. I've lived here 5 years and can't believe only now I stumbled upon this place. Every dish is well-flavored. The pupusas are amazing, the hot sauce is nostalgically good, and the pastellitos were phenomenal. And the margarita was perfect - not too sweet. I can't believe I actually found a place I really love up here. This is my new go-to spot! read more

We went here for an anniversary celebration. Cute little place in Fremont, not too far from Northgate. Seated immediately with drinks shortly after. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Service was reasonably timed. Food was AWESOME! I tried hilachas de res and my companion tried the bandeja central americano. Both were richly flavorful and complex. My companion lived in Guatemala and Honduras several years ago and can vouch for the fact that this place does it authentically. All of it, even the hand made tortillas, was exactly how she remembered it. Make sure you try the pupusas. They're a real treat. I would take people I like to this place. It's a real gem. read more

Today me and my boyfriend were there , it was full but we waited in the bar area, and then we found an empty table so we went to sit down and then we order and got our water , soon a waitress with an attitude came to tell us that we need to move because there was a family who just came ! Gave a 2nd Chance to this place. We forgot we ordered chuleta frita previous time. Unfortunately though it could have been great the chuleta was extremely salty and I could only eat half,as I did not want to waste it plus I was really hungry. It was well cooked but they over did it with the salt, it was a shame. We also ordered the carne asada, this was awesome, the steak was perfectly cooked and juicy... An unassuming restaurant a little out of the way from Downtown Seattle but so worth the trip! Great food from a couple of Central American countries, fantastic and humble service, amazing atmosphere with a variety of people enjoying their meal. One of my new favorite spots for latino food. I got takeout from La Cabaña for the first time. They packed everything carefully. Friendly and fast service though they were very busy both phone and in person orders. Generous portions and affordable prices. Food is flavorful, especially their rice and soup that are truly home cooking. This truly is a hidden gem. I hadn't eaten Central American food outside typical Mexican fare before I started eating here, and let me tell you, it is glorious! In general, it tends to be less greasy and more fresh compared to Mexican food. The staff is really friendly and helpful, and it's just an all around great place. When you first start eating here, you may find specific dishes you like and stick to them. But I can tell you from experience that you should explore! You'll find something even more amazing, and then want to kick yourself for not trying it sooner. read more

I ate the tamale before I could even take a picture - soft steaming masa with tender fatty pork, doused liberally with hot sauce. I cooled the spice with a Salva Vida from the can. The main course was the Molcajete. Wow. It's kind of like the sizzling fajita effect, but a giant bowl made out of volcanic rock that is full of the best parts of a meal - meat, peppers, cheese, sauce. Rice and beans on the side, with homemade tortillas. Elevated. The service was great too! I would love to come back here. read more

They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too.

What a hidden gem! I've passed by this place numerous times, but haven't given it a chance until this evening. This neighborhood Honduran restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel welcomed. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was outstanding. The yuca fries were crispy and the perfect starter. The variety of pupusas were delicious -- each one bursting with flavor. We also tried the Bistec Encebollado (Nicaragua) and Pollo Guisado (El Salvador), both cooked to perfection. The homemade tortillas were fresh and made all the difference. This place is nearby, always busy, and has friendly accommodative staff. The Molcajete, which has carne asada as a key ingredient, was only OK and not nearly as good as another central american restaurant on aurora nearby. The meat just had a funky not fresh taste. And the 'home made' sauce for molcajete was also watery compared to the aforementioned competition. The chorizo was quite nice though, tasty, and a healthy amount of nopales which I personally enjoy. The home made table hot sauce is quite good and the time I had carne asada outside the molcajete it was 4 stars. So my rating is heavily weighted by the molcajete but it's a key in central american restaurants. They were happy to allow my dietary substitutions to eliminate carbs (no rice, beans, tortillas) and add fat for the keto diet, adding extra avocado and cheese without charge. Wow I am disappointed. It's my first time here and I walked in today to order 3 pupusas (my favorite dish). I ordered: 1 revuelta corn flour, 1 loroco corn flour, and 1 bean and cheese rice flour. First of all the lady who took my order didn't understand any English which would explain why she got my order wrong. As you can see there is no loroco pupusa. I don't know what they gave me because all of them are flavorless. Literally. They taste like stale cardboard. For what they're worth, $3.80 is waaaayyyy too expensive! If the pupusas were actually good I wouldn't mind paying the price it's fine. But it's not fine if they're not worth it. Aside from that they're all burnt (and taste like burnt). Not okay. Well, their "Excellent" Health Department rating posted on the window says it all!! The food is SO GOOD!! Fresh, delicious AUTHENTIC Honduran food!! I'm in love. Everything from the plantain, homemade beans, carne asada, Fried jalapeño, yuka and home made tortillas were SPOT ON!!! This is the best Central American food I've had in Seattle area! AMAZING! We ordered Sopa de Rez, Pandeja, Pupusa's and Desayuno Centroamericano, delicious. Please, please, please come check this place out at least once. The trek up north is worth it. read more
