Always in the look out for Barbacoa and consome. By far the panzita and comsome where delicious . Hit the spot. This place is amazing. Great food. Great consome . Super friendly waitress . For being here for the first time they treat me to a tlacoyo. If you happen to be in concord and looking for some great consome by Barbacoa estilo Hidalgo here it is

    Consome, barbacoa, tlacoyos and quesadillas!

The guys behind one of the most popular's barbacoa and consomé local restaurants finally found a place to still selling this manjares!! For vegetarians like me, they have a great options: quesadillas de huitlacoche or regular mushrooms, tlacoyos with potato's, beans or chickpeas!! Also you can order salad on the side!! The cuisine is Hidalgo Mexico Style, one of the most Populars streets corner on Mexico City!! Tacolicious take note!! La Cabaña restaurant one place to visit on East Bay!!!

The Mariscada half a la diabla other half a la mojo de ajo

THIS PLACE IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!!! SO PLEASE IGNORE THE OTHER REVIEWS! Now introducing the best and I mean the best Mariscos (seafood) I have ever tasted in the bay area. I am extremely happy that I didn't look this place on Yelp before I stopped by or I might have not came to the best Mexican Marisco place in the entire bay. I can't stress to you how authentic this place is. I was blown away at the fact I felt like I was in Nayarit, Mexico! This is exactly how mariscos (seafood) Mexican style should taste. We walked in not knowing what to expect but we saw, plenty of people at different tables with their buckets of beer, margaritas, bucanas with pineapple, and the mariachi was playing! Me and my lady where definitely about to stay! Grabbed 2 seats at the bar and where greeted right away, we ordered mineral water with tequila and lime. Bartender was very friendly she hooked us up with fresh homemade chips, a very tasty salsa, and a seafood caldo with mussels. So many traditional marisco choices on the menu I was in heaven. I didn't know if I wanted camarones a la diabla, coctel de camaron, oysters, shrimp fajitas, camarones a la mommia (wrapped in bacon), and I could go on and on! The prices where crazy cheap compared to El Rancho next door or most marisco places near by. After looking for a minute the owner came up to us and said is this your first time, and I let him know it was. He was so nice and just kept it real with us and even sent us some drinks! Mad props for his genuine good service. We asked what was good "The Mariscada" was recommend which is on the cover of there menu http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GPNTrS7oBCGcOx1EipnXag?select=NGaQGhvPgvzC_cSI1EauTw. We ordered it half a la diabla and half a lo mojo de ajo (garlic sauce). We asked if we should get the one for 2 people for $40 or the one for a single person for $19 they said the other one is beyond huge so we went with the one for a single person! Damn this mariscada http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GPNTrS7oBCGcOx1EipnXag?select=iRW-L0FoSOGgioK8g95deQ was beyond huge!! I could not believe that here I have been over paying at all these half decent places in the bay for way smaller than this plate. At 20 bucks this plate was way worth way more it had crab legs, snapper fillets, clams, mussels, scallops, octopus, and jumbo prawns and plenty of it!!!! The drinks where strong, the Joronga Tequila the owner let us taste was hella good, the service was very attentive, the fruit with lime and chili powder after our meal was amazing, the mariachi era chingon, and the food was beyond any 5 stars. La Cabana is the real deal, they transport you to the beach places in Mexico and no not baja I'm talking deep south, and offering very tasty traditional marisco plates estillo Nayarit! This will be a place that I become a regular at!!! I also will be trying it out on Friday or Saturday night because they play cumbia, bachata, merengue, and salsa after 10pm!!! Finding this place has really made my ass happy, not to mention my girl happy because we both admitted this is hella authentic and exactly what we have been on the search for!

Blue neon arches, a huge underwater mural, plush chairs and low tables along the back wall. Worth the detour. Chris was working the bar on his second day and greeted us like a regular. I skipped my usual Manhattan and went with the Smoke Break, bourbon with bitters, smoke and black cherry. He nailed it. That is the one I would order again. Kudos to Chris for making the smoke linger and make the drink taste fantastic. I had this one in Oregon and it was cool but Chris did a better job with his method that really did serious justice to the name. My wife wanted the Cucumber Cooler, but they were out of cucumber. She pivoted to Sauvignon Blanc, and they were out of that too. The wine list runs four whites and four reds, so there is not much room to maneuver if the cocktails are not your thing. Chris read the situation, offered up a Paper Airplane since she wanted something refreshing, and put it on the house. Classic good bartending. It was louder than expected for how few people were in the room. On a Saturday with a DJ, music and dancing, I would guess the volume gets close to a rave. Go Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to hear the person across from you, and you will probably catch them fully stocked. My guess is weekends clean them out. Cocktails run 16 to 18 dollars. There is also a 300 dollar tequila and cognac number called La Maria served in a glass rimmed with gold dust, if you have something to celebrate. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5. They are on the ground floor of the Waymark apartments at 121 Pringle Ave with a small patio out front and heaters. Great spot to hang out and talk with friends, and a good pre dinner or post dinner stop rather than a destination for the whole night. When those doors shut you are transported somewhere neat. I would go again.

You might want to get here early because it fills up quick and has limited tables available. Clean and sleek design with an efficient kitchen and staff. I ordered the majestic which consists of braised spare rib with a sauce, carrots and mashed potatoes. Our waitress was pleased when I gave her the order because she knew it was impossible to have a negative review on this establishment when you eat this dish. Outstanding quality, freshness and taste. We also ordered the fried rice with sirloin and French omelet. The chef must have spent a season in Paris because the omelet was textbook French, impressive. The sirloin was good too but my wife didnt really care for the rice. I liked the rice but it wouldn't hurt if they gave a steamed rice option. Next time we'll request that instead for a 10/10 dish. We also had the crown drink and the garden of Versailles. Both were worth trying if you come here. The presentation for the crown drink had every neighboring table turning their heads and ordering one for themselves. Our wonderful waitress suggested the drink and also got elated when we did because she knew we were gonna leave with all smiles. I can't give this place enough credit, and I cant wait wait to come back to try other items on the menu that I had my eye on.

Fantastic drink. My friend tasted mine and ordered the same. The selection is the draw here. Whiskey lines the entire back wall, the rarer bottles sit behind wire-mesh locked cabinets, and there is a deep bench of tequila, beer on tap, and wine to round things out. One look at the shelves tells you they have the base for any drink you want. We split the Margherita flatbread, pesto, fresh mozzarella, and blistered cherry tomatoes, and it hit the spot as a drinking snack. The menu goes deeper than expected for a bar, with sliders, naan tacos, and charcuterie if you show up hungry. Service was good considering the staff-to-crowd ratio. Sevan stayed attentive the whole time and clearly knows his stuff.
