This place is absolute trash. DO NOT get a "beef" chimi. They give you a nasty dry patty that's apparently a blend of "meat". I ordered a beef sandwich and got a sandwich made of pork. How?! How can they list a menu item as beef and not disclose that it has pork. People are allergic and cannot eat beef. The health department needs to go here and inspect their meats because wtf. I ordered the pork mofongo and my sister had the shrimp mofongo. The food was very good, true to the islands and the drinks were on point. The classic Apple Martini and Sex on the beach... I gave it four stars because upon finishing our dinner and paying, their credit card machine was giving them problems. Awful incredibly disappointed . I ordered from Uber eats the modingo was dry flavorless and cold and the pork was dry and chewy it's like they just put everything in one ball clumps . Im a cook and ive made mofongo with crispy pork a lot of times and it obvious they did not reheat my order at all . They used cold plantains and chewy old dry pork like I won't know the difference . The Uber was just on time and it should have atleast arrived warm and somewhat a little crispy and they forgot my sauce. And it was almost 20 bucks. We stopped in on the recommendation of a friend. We found the restaurant to be lovely with lots of Cumbia playing in the background- and the food : super delicious. I had the steak with onions and my husband had the Mofongo with pork. Both were seasoned / prepared so well! I think it was the best Spanish steak with onions I've ever had ! The chef is Dominican and he is excellent! We will definitely be returning to experience the rest of the menu. Ofcourse due to covid the tables were very well separated , the staff wore masks and the menu was available via a download on our phone. We appreciated their respect for safety. First off I had ordered from here 3 months ago and the food was amazing! I ordered the churrasco special and couldn't wait to order again next time. First time I ordered (uber eats) I left instructions for how I would like the food cooked and the chef followed my order to the T. Salad and rice and beans where included as my sides. And was hott when I received my order at home. For $52 I couldn't have been happier with my meal. NOW the SECOND TIME: So I was excited to order the same meal again because of how amazing it was. I placed my order once again with uber eats and left specific in the order notes. Not one instruction was followed. I asked for well done steak, My steak was damn there bloody and tough as nails with not a taste of seasoning, the shrimp was rubbery as if it was reheated. They didn't give me any onions on side, my salad was missing. My wife ordered the Dominican burger. The bread was old as hell and hard on the edges and had a molded taste (wasn't toasted, it was just old) the best part of the meal was the white rice which is hard to ruin. FINALY I called to let them know that my order was not how I asked and that I was upset and I was hung up on. This was my 2nd time coming to this establishment. For the purpose of this review I'll talk about both visits. I had a bad experience 3 years ago when my friends and I decided to stop locally for drinks. Granted it was night time therefore this place looked different and there was a huge wait/ crowd. Not my usual go to at all but my friends wanted to stop here. The server/bartender who greeted us was not communicating well, and we had to wait at the entrance. There isn't any room here to wait. The woman helping us was unprofessional and quoted us a wait time. Finally we were seated. The server finally came to the table and we ordered drinks. Many different people kept going in & out. My friends decided to step outside for a smoke break and I ended up using the restroom. When they came back inside the woman had given away our table. Mind you we had seated at the table, ordered drinks and my friends had gone outside for maybe 2-5 minutes. Ridiculous. We were told we had to wait again for another table. We asked for the manager which of course was not available and then the server/bartender helping us became hostile/caught an attitude and finally when we were able to sit back down we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. Very unprofessional establishment and the drinks were overpriced. Night setting was ok aside from the small space. Fast forward 2022: My friend kept telling me about their Garlic Salmon. We decided to stop here for dinner maybe this experience would be better. I was wrong. The server we had was very nice her name was Pamela. Very courteous and checked in on us like a server should. The chips they bring to the table are disgusting. Tasted old/ plain almost from a bag. I asked the server about the menu again this is my first time in here for dinner. I ordered the garlic salmon and unfortanetly i did not like it. I only took 1 bite. As I waited for Pamela to check in on us, I told her I did not like the garlic salmon and I went ahead and ask if I could order something else instead. She explained that I would have to pay for the salmon and the new entree If I were to order. I explained to her I did not like this dish, I only took 1 bite, I wanted to order something else. She reiterated again the same thing and then I explained to her that what she was telling me was that although I did not like this dish only had 1 bite they would charge me for the dish and the new entree I were to order. She said yes. I went ahead and asked to speak to a manager and she asked me if she would like me to remove her plate and I said yes I am not eating this. She went to look for the manager and then about 5 minutes later came back to the table explaining the same thing of their protocol and that the manger had said the same . She also explained that the only way for them to make another dish is if it were prepared wrong. She offered to bring me back the dish I said I did not like (Mind you it had gone to the kitchen why would I want it back?). I reiterated I did not like my dish I did not want it back and asked again for the manager. At this point I was upset, I have never encountered something like this before. My friend and I were going to pay the check and leave. Finally she came back to the table and said that she had to call the manager on the phone because they were not in and that the manager said they will replace this 1 time for another entree but that I had to pay for my ORIGINAL entree price. I said fine I just wanted to eat something as my friend was almost done with her dish. The server then said to me maybe what you meant to order was the grilled salmom and not the garlic salmon. I didn't want to keep this going so I ordered the plain grilled salmon. That entree was much better but would I recommend this establishment again? No. They're not accommodating to guests needs and a bit rude about communication. I was told different stories about the manager being in etc and not. I'm pretty sure the manager was in. Also meant to note while we were eating a vendor was allowed to come inside the restaurant and sell items to each table. Lol. We drank sangrias which were OK. We ordered 2 more. My friend also had a pina colada which she said didn't really taste strong. They added on automatic gratuity for a table of 2... our server was nice and we were going to tip her well but ok, which made a dinner for 2 people about 106 dollars. Very impressed ordered a Trigonfo with biftec and onions that came cooked to perfection very tasty... Our waiter, Galo, was extremely friendly and able to recommend from drinks up to dessert after asking our likes and dislikes he gave us great choices. We eat out all the time and this place is way better that others we've been. The environment is elegant with Latin music. We hosted a baby-shower at this location on February 4th, 2018. The restaurant was highly recommended by a family member that frequently visits the location. The staff was very professional and handled the party of 25 effortlessly. They staff was very attentive and the timing of each entree was perfect. The menu selection was as promised by management. The ambient was friendly and although the restaurant was Open for regular business the staff manage to keep the event under control. The food was excellent. They catered to each one of guests needs.
