    Plato tipico

I got their Plato Típico, the portions were a good size and it's a great option for sharing. The pupusas and cortido were fantastic and hands down the best part of the meal, savory and busting with flavor. The chicken tamal was pretty good but could've used a bit more chicken and there was a big chunk of potato in it and the corn tamal should be offered as a dessert with a sweet sauce. It was kind of dry and a little boring on it's own. Overall the food was still very good, the restaurant is super clean and the staff is great.

A little hidden gem. Service was great and the food was very flavorful. Give it a shot.

The chips and sauce is great, but the last time I went, the rice was so salty that I couldn't eat it. Their food is usually good, and that was my second visit. Customer service has improved a bit, but they still have issues with dirty utensils. They need to ensure that the utensils are completely clean.

    Best pupusas in town!

This is by far my favorite Salvadoran restaurant. You can't get any more authentic than this. I came here just to have 3 pupusas and every bite was worth it. The pupusas comes with two salsas and the cabbage dish (I'm not sure what its name is in Spanish). But all that is delicious! The bean and cheese is by far my favorite but the pork and cheese and plain cheese are good as well. This restaurant is located in a busy shopping plaza so it may be easy to miss. There is plenty of parking and customer service is excellent. It is a small restuarant and I noticed a lot of people ordered take out which is okay but the restaurant it self is very clean and orderly. I will always come back here for delicious Salvadoran food!!! You will not be disappointed!

My review is based off of what I have eaten so far. I got the passion fruit drink it was so refreshing. I actually got full off of the complimentary chips salsa and bean dip so by the time my sampler plate arrived I had no room for the puposa or chicken tamales but the sweet corn tamal and cream was delicious. The sweet plantain were caramelized with a little crispness around the sides and creamy on the inside very good. I have to come back later and give a proper review.

Fantastic Salvadorian cuisine. Must get the Papusas! My husband and I drive from Grapevine just for this spot!

Came to Texas for a conference and saw good reviews for this restaurant so we tried it out. In short, one of the best home-y feeling and authentic meals my partner and I have ever had. We're pescatarian and had plenty of options. Everything was fantastic - papusas, plantains (holy), tamales, fried fish (so flavorful). Met an older physician who had been coming for years and thinks this is the most authentic place. The service was also super friendly, got mega topups for our horchata. Definitely 5 stars for delicious food and friendly service in an non-pretentious environment. Wish we could have this in Canada.

a plate of food on a wooden table

Piece of glass found inside pupusas. Luckily I was not hurt or that a child found it. It was the size of a nickel with three sharp ends. The pupusas themselves had very little filling and not enough salsa was given for 23 pupusas.

If you are not a fan of a great salad, continue reading anyway; perhaps this review will convince you to checkout Snappy Salad. As many places do today, Snappy Salad uses a model where you can build your own salad. If that's too much work for you, they have some delicious menu salads which make the process a little easier. In the case of the 'build your own salad', you are limited to a specific number of items (i.e. veggies, cheese, nuts, etc.) before incurring extra charges. Also, protein (chicken, beef and seafood) is available for an extra charge. I tend to stick with their menu salads with my favorites being the "Grilled Avocado" and the " Texas Taco". My protein of choice for the "Grilled Avocado" tends to always be their mesquite grilled chicken meanwhile, the "Texas Taco" comes with a very tasty ground beef. As for this location, I recently came across it while in the area meeting a family member for dinner. Like me, they try to keep it healthy and having been to Snappy Salad a few other times (with me), they suggested going to 'that one salad spot'. I knew immediately which place they were referring to turned to my handy-dandy Yelp app to see if there was a location nearby and this one was the closest. Upon entering, the staff was very friendly and quickly greeted us as we made our way to area for ordering. We went with choices from the menu salad and the staff made sure to ask if we wanted them as listed or if we wanted to substitute any items. All the items were well stocked and very fresh. The dining area was super clean as was the soft drink dispenser area. Located in a strip mall area, there is plenty of parking available in a shared lot. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking out this location. If this location is not convenient, find the nearest Snappy Salads; you can thank me later.

I am not sure if we picked the wrong day or time to dine, as the place was practically empty and the young lady working the register didn't give the impression she wanted to be there, not a smile or a friendly greeting, even though when our group arrived, it was just us in the restaurant. As stated, the place was not that busy; later, they had three tables of customers, including us. Food came out relatively quickly, and the cashier served it. Now, as I said, I was looking forward to my meal. The presentation was great, but the chicken lacked seasoning. It was grilled chicken kabobs with jasmine rice, but the flavor of any seasoning was missing; it tasted just like plain grilled chicken with a sauce on top, nothing unique or distinctive. I am willing to give them another chance if I am in the area, but I am not sure I will drive out of my way to try them again. I try my best to support small businesses whenever possible, as this is an opportunity to try something new.

I absolutely love all the gluten-free options. I ordered the simple salmon, which was cooked to my preferred temperature and served with a generous portion of tasty sautéed vegetables. I'd say my total time waiting to order was 5 minutes and my total time waiting for food was 10, even with how crowded it was. I ordered the White Chicken Parmesan. I've never had gluten free pasta before this and there was no strange taste or texture. The sauce was bright and very lemony. I will say the pasta was in oddly short pieces so don't expect to twirl your noodles on your fork! The chicken was well cooked and seasoned with a nice crust. The raw tomato addition didn't do too much for me but I didn't mind it overall. The soda fountain is an adorable tap that boasted drinks like cola, sparkling lemonade, cream soda, root beer and more. I'm not usually a fan of off brand cola but this one was great, if not a little watery for my taste. My pasta dish overall was $15.50, which was a great price for the amount I received. The plate was large and easily more than one portion. This is definitely one of the best "health food" places I've been to. Will definitely be back!

They offer a pretty good selection of salads, like Greek, Thai, Cobb, Caesar, and Ranch, as well as dressings of your choice. I like their Thai salad, which has cucumber slices, shredded carrots, romaine lettuce, and red cabbage. They are all very fresh. The dressing is actually what I like the most. It's peanuty, spicy but not too strong, with a subtle tangy and sour note. For my protein option, I've tried their chicken and tofu. The chicken is fine. I like the tofu better though, which is moist, tender, and savory. They also offer seasonal lemonade drink. I've had their cucumber mint lemonade, which is super refreshing especially on a hot Texas summer day! The service is fast. I was there one time during the peak lunch hour.
