Came here for my birthday dinner and was not disappointed. We ordered a few small plates with the guidance of our server (who was phenomenal!) Our favorites were the mejillones and the apricot pistachio filo roll. Cocktails were inventive and the staff was really knowledgeable on spirits and pairings. Nice by the glass wine selection, too! The night ended with a gorgeous serving of their brioche bread pudding with caramel sauce and ice cream. I am not a huge dessert person but I would go back just for that. First time here. Was visiting a friend in Santa Fe and she knew that our daughter is into musical theater. This place was perfect for her! That night, the performers were awesome, truly Broadway quality. They were also nice enough to pose for a picture at the end of the night. The food was pretty good also. A good variety of offerings on the menu. We ordered about 6 dishes for the table and shared it family style. The singers are also the servers, so more awesomeness getting to talk to them. The only good thing about this place is the ambiance. Servers and hostes were very unpleasant. The only nice was the young woman who brought us water. When we decided to leave smaller tip, our server came to ask why? Not to ask about the foot or service, just the tip. Tip supposed to be for the service!!! We enjoyed a lovely evening on the beautiful patio of La Casa Sena on the 4th of July holiday weekend. It was a special date night and the staff graciously accommodated our request to be seated in a quiet spot. We started with the Mediterranean trio. Grilled pita served alongside hummus and charred eggplant. It was the perfect start. We also enjoyed the tuna, served over seriously good risotto, and the crab cake. It's been a while since I was actually in here. But a memorable dining experience. Check my photos. The Caesar salad was like no other. The hummus plate as well was above and beyond what was expected. And now with the governors order changed for dine in, I look forward to coming back and having the full experience. The decor is nice and the room inviting. ...but that's where the fun stopped. It's impossible to have a conversation at this place. The performers are great, but they didn't sing a single song from any of our favorite musicals (and we have had season tix to broadway years). tl/dr: The quality of the cuisine and overall experience here is way below what it should be for the fancy restaurant prices. Long-ish review to follow. I'll start with our drink order because it turned out to set the tone. We ordered (for $18) what was supposed to be a blueberry and lavender Old Fashioned. The drink that arrived though was clearly a standard Old Fashioned. It good as a normal Old Fashioned, but there was clearly no blueberry or lavender involved, and anyone who has had any experience with blueberries knows that one molecule of blueberry is enough to stain an entire acre blue, so a drink that is yellowish-clear has no blueberry in it. We pointed this out to the server, who went to talk to the bartender, and they came back with a claim that this was in fact the correct drink, and when the blueberry infusion encounters the alcohol it changes color (to clear, presumably). Mind you this particular chemical reaction would have to be very particular to this exact bourbon and these exact blueberries, as I have experienced the mixing of blueberries and alcohol before and the blue does not go away, plus as discussed below I ended up being able to do a precise experiment on this particular claim. At this point we were basically in disbelief - FFS just admit that you accidentally made the wrong $18 drink, and offer to make it right. The waiter eventually gave me a choice of having an "extra" serving of the blueberry infusion on the side or having the drink remade (correctly, presumably) with half (!) a shot of bourbon. That's right, noly half. The nickel and diming here on an $18 drink was really insulting. I opted for the extra serving of blueberry, promptly added it to the drink, and wouldn't you know it, it stayed blue! I literally put the claim that the blueberry color changes when encountering alcohol to the test and it failed, right in front of the people making the claim. No apology, no comped drink. Moving on to the food, for entrees we were considering some of the fish dishes but decided to give the vegetarian entrees a try, because we appreciate when fancy places make an effort to make creative vegetarian cuisine. The stuffed zucchini was good, so kudos for that, but I wouldn't say it was $36 good. How much do three zucchini stalks and some tempeh cost? Not as much as veal which was also $36. The mushroom croquettes, on the other hand, were just bizarre. They were something like extremely dry crab cakes, dryer than just bread, served with, get this, granola. Why would you serve something that is extremely dry with something else that is extremely dry? And why would I want to go to a restaurant to get granola for $36? So that was our experience. It was very disappointing considering the prices involved and the reputation of the place. read more

This was the perfect spot for a mid-day bite to eat--the Frosé was so delicious! The patio is gorgeous, with so many blooming flowers and greenery, it almost felt like I was back in Greece! We split the hummus plate (traditional hummus as well as roasted red pepper, and roasted eggplant also) and a side of fries, and the house made corn muffins were great too (we were not skimping on carbs in this meal! First, the service was excellent. I rarely write a negative review but for the price of the menu items I was really disappointed. The Caesar salad seemed like a bagged salad with average dressing with a parmesean crisp thrown in. The entrees were at least $40. Two of us ordered lamb tangine and there were literally 3 tiny pieces of lamb in the entire dish. The description on the menu of the vegetables included did not match with what was delivered on the plate. The fish dish also did not include the vegetables listed. It is very close to the center of action in downtown Santa Fe, and there is plenty of shade at mid day. We had two exceptional meals at La Casa Sena. We had a great late afternoon lunch and then the following day, we had a phenomenal and possibly the best dinner during our vacation. La Casa Sena has a beautiful interior courtyard with fountains, trees and a very classy staff of servers. While I was there with my family, it's a romantic dining area and I think it's also very popular with the local residents who live in the neighborhood. For lunch I had the soup of the day, a mango gazpacho soup that was delightful as well as a salad with salmon. For dinner, my wife and I shared poke in fresh avocado and watermelon and I had trout served over risotto and spinach. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

I have had the salmon last week and the branzino this evening. Both were tough and lacked flavor, even though presented well...when all the meals finally showed. Truly a restaurant this popular should show off better. The more I hear folks mentioning this as a possibility to go, the more I cringe at the aspect they will decide to go to a different city. Such as not for this culinary scene. This place fell short of the goal and is highly overrated. Please change ownership soon. Your pillaging of profits is predominantly a sign of arrogance and ego. No inside seating that was cooler than outside. Big negative when it's in the low 90's at night. Waiter was very weird and aggressive, as well as being non-responsive after he asked a question. Ordered a grapefruit drink. There was a slice of grapefruit on the glass that looked two days old. The drink was bad and had too much ice in it to make worth the cost. Appetizer was okay.
