Amazing food. Located right between the highly debated Pat's and Geno's, this place offers a completely fresh perspective. They are well known for their birria, so of course we ordered the birria tacos and the birria ramen. Both were incredible. The tacos were packed with tender, slow-braised beef that was juicy, rich, and deeply savory. The tortillas were crisped perfectly on the outside but still soft inside, soaked lightly in consommé for extra flavor. A squeeze of lime added brightness and cut through the richness beautifully. The birria ramen was comforting and bold. The broth was intensely flavorful, beefy, and aromatic, with noodles that soaked everything up. It felt indulgent but balanced, especially with lime and herbs mixed in. We also got the hibiscus drink and I am honestly obsessed. Lightly tart, floral, refreshing, and not overly sweet. It paired perfectly with the richness of the food. The place itself is clean and welcoming. We went around 11 am on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. Honestly, This establishment is middle of the road compared to other Taco joints in the city'. Prices were a bit high, meat quality was lacking , specifically my tacos were very dry, and lacked true flavor without all the sauces provided. Wait time was pretty long dining in. Ordered quesadillas and was told by the guy "Best quesadillas of your life!" Unfortunately it was quite the opposite. There was and I mean absolutely no seasoning to the quesadilla. The chicken authenticity was questionable. The cheese also overwhelms the entire quesadilla. I tried the location off Delaware Ave about a year ago and was also not impressed. If I hadn't been home I would have drove back and requested a refund. Also super small portion for the guacamole (which also was not good at all) and sour cream. Actually ruined my day :( read more

Let's be so honest, this is NOT the best Mexican food you will ever eat. But the portions are huge and they have a really good flavor profile. I don't love their price point but they are selling a product at top value and they know that what you're getting isn't offered everywhere. I enjoy their unique offerings and i believe they try to keep the quality consistent. I enjoyed my food and i enjoy that they keep their sauce in packets for easy spreading access. The food here is awesome, you cant even lie about that. The picture even looks great!! But no seriously, the food is delicious with the perfect taste and juices from the consome. Their individual salsas are also great with chips and the entree. The service inside is pretty good overall, but if it's busy and you place a pickup order... be prepared to wait a little longer. So so so good. We trekked over from center city (about 2 mi) because we heard great things about the birria. Those things were all right. We read through the solid menu - sigh street and California tacos, meals, and burritos - and all settled on the same option. The team was so kind to tell us that if we went with the platter we'd get more for less (which turned out to be too much, honestly) and our large group had all we could need. There is only window bar seating, so don't plan to have a large group convo, but we were comfortable and had space to spread out. I will certainly be recommending La Catrichita to everyone. read more

My bf ordered a buy one get one birra taco deal here while he was at work. He brought one of the meals home for me to eat and it was sooo good (And I was heating it up the next day - and still tasted great). I dipped the tacos in the comsomme and it was delish. A really good place for late night eats! Definitely recommend if youre in the area and wanting some Mexican. I've tried the burrito twice. One carne asada and another carnitas. The menu is quite big so there a bunch of options. Even some desserts. There are computers to order at and the girl at the front desk has always been kind. Seating can be hard to come by but people are usually in and out right after eating so by the time my food is ready there has always been a seat opening up. read more

Been wanting to stop by this restaurant for a while and finally it happened last week. We had the quesabirria and the shrimp tacos with a tamarind and soursop drinks. Everything was amazing, the quesabirria was a big serving, great flavor, fresh onion/cilantro & lime mix perfectly cooked shrimp tacos. It was great that they have their own packets of sauces. The videos they post on IG look good and the way they serve their plates makes the food appealing. I came from the west coast and decided to check this place out. It's not a food truck but an actual restaurant, the seating is against the windows. Table and chairs are bar height and they don't have regular tables or chairs. So it not really inviting for a family to come and stay to eat. It feels more of an order and go restaurant. The food is overpriced but still decided to try the Birria Fries that came with the Birria broth which are good portions. The meat serving was decent and tender but it lacked flavor. The broth was bland and tasted canned. I honestly can't describe the exact flavor, maybe they used canned tomato sauce in the broth but it tasted funny. I guess they have adapted their recipe to cater to the taste of their customers. I wouldn't really go back even if I lived near by. read more

Me and my son visit this nasty taco place on a Thursday night, my son ordered chicken by a mistake we asked to change it to steak the Manager or whoever it was gave us a hard time trying to get the correct order, I had to explain to the manager that just take care of the customer we are paying and not trying to steal. at the end of the day but he made it so difficult this is the exact words from the manager, this is the last time I'm doing this ! and I told him we will not be back again and I will let everyone know ! also the taco & the burrito I ordered was horrible too much seasoning I would never be back again!
