Excellent food and service. Always accommodating for my party groups. Everyone always has a great time here.
Wow perfect blend of reasonable prices, generous portions, and tasty food. Service was good too. Don't have anything bad to say about this place. Pasta dishes have noodles cooked el dente, sauces not overly strong or too creamy. Salads are crisp and made with fresh veggies. Credit goes to the chef for cooking of the meats too. Asked for medium New York steak it about right.. can't help the edges a little on med well side. Desserts were great too....all not too sweet and made the traditional way. Hope the restaurant keeps up the good work. This is the superior choice to another unnamed established restaurant that serves similar food.
It was a little tricky to find, but we are glad that we located it on our second pass down the street. The food, service, & atmosphere were just right for our "travel day" lunch. We shared a house salad and then had the mushroom crostini. Everything on the salad was super-fresh. The creamy Italian dressing was good, too. The crostini was loaded with tasty mushrooms. The hot bread brought to our table was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummy! My hubby had linguini with meatballs for his entree and I had shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. We both enjoyed our meals and felt that the ingredients and the way that the food was prepared were top notch! At the end of our meal, we shared crème brûlée. The blueberries on top provided a nice flavor balance. The dessert is one of my faves and I would highly recommend it. Great meal!

La Ciccia is a cozy Italian restaurant located in the same lot as the South King Street Post Office. They specialize in Italian Japanese fusion dishes. Most notably the mentaiko pasta, natto pasta, and my favorite, the kinoko pasta with shimeji mushrooms and bacon. The dish can sometimes be on the oily or salty side, but is very unique and packed with flavor. I think it is the perfect representation of what La Ciccia does best, and seamlessly blends a variety of flavors. Want something on the lighter side? I would suggest the smoked salmon salad with creamy sesame dressing which is topped with silky salmon, sautéed mushrooms, and bursts of salty briny flavor through the capers. Service is always amazing. Staff make great recommendations and they kindly notified us that only the first basket of bread was complimentary. They also did a great job at convincing us to order the special and provided a free scoop of gelato when we were celebrating a birthday.
Weekly office lunch was decided for Italian so we made a large take out order same day pick up at La Ciccia. Service was extremely kind and fast. Ambience is nice quiet and modern seating. Food was absolutely delicious! Pastas were the highlight as everyone got something different but were all equally impressed. Highlights go to the kinoko pasta and the meatball linguini. Price is fairly reasonable. I would have gave five stars but unfortunately I ordered the bone marrow and it came out looking like the attached picture. It was over cooked and only had enough marrow for one bite. The flavor was off putting and I was extremely disappointed with what I got for the price I paid. I love bone marrow and always get it when I see it on the menu. However this experience was probably the worse bone marrow I had. I will come back as I'd like to try other things on their menu such as the escargot and the other culinary fusion pasta dishes that look tasty.

First time here. This place felt like an Italian fusion. Food was honestly really good, Got 3 food items and 1 dessert, the shrimp alla spinach, ribeye steak medium, chicken marsala, and creme brulee. All were great overall perfectly cooked! This place was a bit busy for a Monday, wait time was a bit crazy, waited about 45 min for our food and 20 min for our bread with butter. The food definitely made up for how long we waited, kinda felt like they're a bit understaffed but for a Monday they were probably unaware how busy it would be. The restaurant itself was super cozy, small/decent amount of seating in here. Would come back definitely not a busy time.
It was a bit slow probably from the rain. It's OK since it was easy to get a table. Kai was our waitress and she was helpful with answering questions about the menu. The fresh bread was served nice and hot with butter or vinegar and oil. I usually just use butter but decided to try the vinegar and oil. That was a really good decision on my part. It was really good. I was surprised. For those of you who have had it before know what I'm talking about. It was like a light grape jelly. The bread with the oil and vinegar was so good i got another loaf. Yum. We decided to get the clams casino for our appetizer. That was winners. It was really delicious. Fresh Manila clams in a broth of butter, white wine, bacon, fresh spinach, mushroom, onions, and tomato. That's from the menu. All I know is that all of that put together was really ono. I wish I still had some more bread to soak up the sauce. Lol She chose the shrimp and scallop scampi. I chose the shrimp and scallop alla spinach. The shrimp and scallops were served with fresh spinach, bacon and mushrooms in a garlic butter white wine sauce. It was so delicious. I know i wanna go back again. For dessert we were going to split a mud pie but unfortunately they were out. Sigh. Well three for three is pretty good. Well not pretty good. It was really great. Parking is on the Mauka side right after you pass the restaurant headed toward diamond head. (Left turn) It was pretty quiet with only two other tables occupied.
La Ciccia has amazing pastas and desserts with the best service around. I feel like this restaurant is very underrated for having such delicious and unique dishes like their AMAZING Kinoko Pasta, which has sautéed shimeji mushroom with bacon, topped with shiso and green onions. Their lasagna is also one of my favorites, and their complimentary bread is so fresh and fluffy. Vibe: The restaurant is really big and spacious -- the perfect place to grab lunch with coworkers or have dinner with the family. The service is always top notch and friendly. Restrooms are located in the back near the kitchen. Parking: There is a free parking lot located next to the restaurant that can get busy during meal times, but usually always has stalls available.
Celebrated Mother's Day a day early with family. The restaurant was moderately size with a modern vibe. The lighting was moody but not too dark, it felt more classy. The tables were spread out far apart from each other so there was a lot of walking space. There's a bar area where guest can be seated at the counter. They were packed on a Saturday night, the night before Mother's Day. Mushroom crostini: The toasted bread was good, thin and crunchy but not too hard. The mushroom and cheese were fragrant and savory. Wished there were more mushrooms on top. Fried mozzarella cheese: The breading was good. The cheese was gooey. There's marinara sauce in the side that helps add more flavor to the cheese. Calamari fritti: This was like squid sticks. The breading was good and crispy. The Italian dressing for dipping was very good. It was rich and creamy. Really enjoyed this appetizer. Clams casino: Good appetizer. The sauce was very good. White wine and butter broth with bacon, spinach, mushrooms, tomato, and onions. It was light but pack with flavor. The sauce was good with bread. The clams were good too. Escargot: The escargot was good but on the salty side. This was rich with cheese and oil. The toasted bread was good, same as the mushroom crostini. The snails were large in size which was nice. Mentaiko pasta: The mentaiko pasta was alright but not the best I've had. The pasta sauce was creamy but there weren't enough mentaiko. It was more cheesy and milky in taste. This does not taste good after a day for leftover. Seafood combo with red house marinara: Not really a fan of "red" sauce for pasta. The marinara sauce was light and has a little kick to it. It was not bad. My family enjoyed the pasta. Overall a very good dinner experience. The service was friendly. The portion of their pasta was a lot. Enough for 2 people to share 1 plate. With a couple of appetizers on the side I would say it's quite filling. Their complementary bread was very good. It looks plain but it was delicious with a spread of butter. The bread was warm, fluffy, and the crust was crunchy.
In the heart of Moiliili located in the same building that houses other eateries such as Bangkok Chef, Sushi Ginza Onodera, Izakaya Naru as well as USPS is La Ciccia which is a hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant. We've been here a handful of times and it comes with mixed reviews. This place is a hidden gem as we drive past this place all the time and wouldn't have even thought about coming here until we were invited to join some friends. While I want to say everything was perfect, my inner voice has to come out and say while we liked many things, it all wasn't great every time we came here. The first time, we had excellent service... very attentive, our waters were never empty and we never had to hunt down our server. The next two times were a little different, the service seemed really slow. It took what seemed forever to place our orders. It was a good thing we had good company to keep us occupied as our tummies were rumbling. I do have to point out that there are only two waitstaff working for the whole restaurant. I would think that they might hire another person to work on the weekends as that seems to be their busiest times and I can't stress enough to make reservations especially on weekends as they are pretty packed. One person brought a very nice bottle of wine which accompanied the food very nicely, however the corkage fee of $30 per bottle was a meh in my book, especially since they don't offer that bottle there. Other places charge a little less especially when they don't offer a particular wine. The better half, friends, and family really enjoyed the escargot ($15) as they are slow baked in a bleu cheese and butter blend that makes you want to grab bread and dip it into the slots of where the escargot sat and wow it is delicious. The lasagna, was ok, nothing to write home about. I guess I'm more used to some homemade ones where the filling is a little more generous and even the taste is better. The better half loves NY Steak and she said the first time was better than the second as she likes it medium rare and the second time it came out more well done. Told her to send it back but she was hangry so she just ate it. The calamari was spot on. It was cooked to perfection as well as the mushroom crostini and their tomato bruschetta was to die for. We all gobbled up the appetizers. I enjoyed seafood combo as it had scallops, shrimp, and clams inside a garlic butter while wine sauce with pasta. YUM!!! Never tried any desserts as we were way too full from the appetizers and our entrees. A couple of key things to remember is to make reservations, come early as parking can be a pain to find as the parking lot is pretty much jammed packed.
Second time here in a month. Docked a star because we while we were extremely pleased with the service and most of the food, we were very disappointed with how the veal was cooked. First all the good reviews: Bread continues to be awesome though it took longer to come out than the first time we were here. We had made reservations for 10 so it was not a surprise that we were coming. Best bread ever even though we had to wait for it. We actually had to order more bread because our entrees took a while to come out. (We opted not to get any appetizers since we knew the entree portions would be large.) Lasagna was huge! Two people shared it with a chicken salad and still had leftovers. Two had the special Chicken Carbonara and it was amazing, served with a raw egg yolk that you mix into the sauce yourself, it was extra creamy and the bacon flavor was awesome. The linguine Garlic shrimp had plenty of shrimp and was completely devoured. The three veal dishes ordered were Veal Parmigiana, Veal Piccata, and Veal Saltimboca. Flavor of the sauces were perfect, pasta was cooked to perfection, however what should be the star of the dish - the veal, was overcooked and dry in all of the dishes. Dry veal is a terrible waste of a delicate meat. Because it was a large group I didn't say anything but definitely would have if it had just been hubby and me. He had the Parmigiana and I had the Saltimboca so it wasn't just one of the veal dishes. Hence the docked Star - Could have been and should have been another five star experience but sadly, it wasn't. The veal dishes were really only 3 star but because the other dishes were on point and 5 star I averaged it to a 4 star experience. Will NOT get veal here again, and I had really been looking forward to it. Will still come again to try their other dishes.

There are very few options for good Italian food on Oahu. We had some out of town guests and I guess they were tired of eating rice at every meal because they asked for Italian. Lol. My bad. I was taking them to all the places I liked, all of which feature rice. So I got onto yelp and searched for Italian. I knew places like Buca were out of the question, but some of the smaller Italian places were either closed or didn't have any tables available. I'm glad La Ciccia was able to take us on short notice. I've been wanting to try it out since upper beretania is where I frequent anyway. We started with oysters and the home made sausage. Both were delicious. The oysters were fresh and plated beautifully. They came with a lime chili sauce that was excellent. The sausage was flavorful and juicy. I had the shrimp and scallops in pink sauce and the boyfriend had the chicken pesto. The pink sauce was so good. I am definitely getting it again when I go back. But I also want to try like everything else on the menu too. The service was great. The wine was good. The company was awesome. The food was excellent. It was just a perfect experience in general. First time here a little tricky to find and parking is limited but well worth finding! The food was perfectly cooked and came out really quick! Thr portions are huge so come hungry!! We ordered the Chicken Marsala, Seafood Pasta and a Mud Pie for dinner. The food was delicious, however, my only issue was that the Seafood Pasta had little sand-like particles that added a weird cruch every bite or so. Their portions were quite generous and the plates also came with a soft bread and butter. The Mud Pie was the best snack after all that pasta. When I'm home again I'd definitely give this place another try... you should too. read more

We're back, this is my moms fav restaurant and they always so accomodating with our large party. As always with our large party we make reservations when they open at 5pm, that way we not stressing them out coming later and they crowded, note this is a small restaurant. We were serviced by a waiter and the head chef Hiro, that was amazing service, both were attentive to our needs, etc. We started with alot of appetizers, everyone had their favs....sicilian sausage, mozarella, calamari (grandson's favorite), stuffed mushrooms, escargot for entrees we had to have our fav the lamb, Linquine primavera, Chicken Piccata, salmon pasta special for the day and gelato for desserts, they were out of the mud pie. Everything was amazing and the portions were huge for the entrees, we all did a doogie bag to go home. Highly suggest if you looking for a reasonable dinner with top notch service and attention to detail, check out this place. Not to mention ample parking and free. This place is so underrated Food: so delicious!!!! For an appetizer, I can't remember what it's called, but it's sauteed mushrooms on toasted bread. So much flavor! The complimentary bread is also yummy! It's fresh, warm, and fluffy. We also ordered the Kinoko Pasta which was excellent, and this appetizer dish you can turn into an entree with mussels. Sorry, I should have taken pictures of the menu to say what it's called. All the food dishes had flavor and the textures were just right! The service was good. There was one waiter, and he always checked in on us and provided excellent service. The ambiance is awesome. It's super modern looking with plenty of table space. Overall, this place is a hidden gem. I recommend anyone coming here for any event or gathering. ! read more

Don't you love a neighborhood restaurant that you can have a fancy girls night and also a family dinner in shorts and a tee? La Ciccia has an upscale, yet casual vibe that makes it a great choice for all occasions. Plus the food is great! I had the chicken sorrentino which was a generous portion of two pounded breaded chicken breasts with a delicious olive oil, mushroom and garlic sauce which I think they should bottle and sell. My friend had the pasta primavera in red sauce, which she enjoyed because of the great amount and variety of fresh veggies. Another friend has a gluten sensitivity and she brought her own gluten-free pasta. The waitstaff took it to the kitchen and they used that to make her clam casino pasta! She had a congestion-free sleep that night. lol. Their homemade bread is not to be missed. Crispy crust and pillowy soft inside. It's great with butter or with the olive oil/balsamic vinegar. The balsamic vinegar they used was really, really good. The bookends were also great. We had their crab-stuffed mushrooms for our appetizer. It had plenty of real crab meat and just enough breadcrumb binder to keep it from falling apart. It was delicious. And the creamy, chocolatey mudpie for dessert. It was a huge portion that the three of us together couldn't finish. Waitstaff were lovely and attentive without hovering. They really seemed to want to make sure we enjoyed our evening. Was so good the last time, that I brought my friends for our Christmas party (14 people). Like last time, food and service were outstanding! We oood and aaaahd over everyone's food. Ages ago I got the kinoko pasta for takeout and it was fantastic. So savory and buttery! It's been a year since and I remembered my friend liked their mentai pasta; a dish my gf loves, so we sat down for dinner. It was surprisingly empty on a Sunday evening; I think it's partially due to the lack of parking, or maybe people had trouble finding it. They have one tiny sign below the big OPEN sign, basically invisible from the street as you drive by. Service was attentive and quick, but we were pretty much the only customers in there for a majority of the time lol. The interior is really cute! It reminds me of cafés we visited in Japan with the modern furnishings and jazz music playing. Honestly a pretty good, semi-casual date spot. Most importantly, the food was pretty good! The bread was soft and fluffy with a nice crumbly crust. Perfect to mop up leftover mentai sauce. Milk tea wasn't too sweet, but perfect to cleanse the palette between bites. Had to get those mushroom crostinis after remembering that mushroom pasta, and it was just as good. Garlicy, salty and buttery. I recommend the mushroom dishes here in general. My gf really enjoyed her mentai pasta--it was creamy and heavy on the mentai, imo a little slimey with the addition of yamaimo and okra, but slime seems to be a popular combination with mentai. It could use a touch of heat though, like some chili to balance the creamy flavors. I got the chicken piccata, and it was satisfying but nothing spectacular. The portion was pretty big though, there was a ton of noodles and I barely finished half of it. It was delicious for the first few bites but I think a bit more lemon would have kept it interesting the whole way through. To finish off we got creme brulee and a yuzu sorbet--except they were out of yuzu sorbet, so we got an orange sorbet instead--which I forgot the actual name of, but it was fresh and lightly sweet and a good end to our very rich and carb-loaded dinner. The creme brulee was great too--surprisingly good custard. Our dinner came out to roughly $75 before tip, which is honestly not awful for what we got. I also had no idea they did brunch too, so we will probably return to try that next. read more
It's located on Kings Street, very close to UH (by Moiliili Post Office). From outside it doesn't look much, actually very very plain looking, but inside is nice comfortable atmosphere and the food is delicious! There were few Japanese-Italian pastas like mentaiko, kinoko, and natto. I love mentaiko so I shared mentaiko pasta with my friend. The pasta had ikura, okura, and yamaimo as topping. I loved it. It was perfect!! (for me) The portion was big and I love that too. My friend love scallop so she had Shrimp and Scallop Scampi. That was good too. Big scallops!! It was garlicky and creamy and satisfying. I need to go back there again to try other items, like appetizers and desserts. I'm drawn to kinoko (mushroom) pasta and tiramisu. I went there on Friday at lunch and it wasn't busy but the staff said dinner time it's good to make reservations because they are usually busy. Lots of parking on the side. read more
My wife and I met me son and his wife at La Ciccia for a belated birthday dinner. It is located in Moiliili in the same building that Sushi King was located in. It seemed like anything we ordered was delicious. I had a oxtail soup that was served with pasta on the side. It tasted like a local version but without the peanuts, very delicious. My wife had the lasagna which she could only eat a third of. It was very good, she shared it with me at home. My son had the carbonara and his wife had the shrimp pasta. Both preside their dishes. Almost forgot, our appetizer was the hamachi carpaccio which was very flavorful. I might come back just for the oxtail soup again. read more

This is my 2nd visit here, & everything was full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and a zen atmosphere. OMg! I had the Shrimp & Scallops Ala Pink- ssssoooo delish! Seen lots of review of this Italian place located on King St next door to coffee Blazers and Bangkok Chef. Decided to go for dinner just before our Yelp event at Kaimuki High school auditorium. To watch the play Once Upon a Time. I had their Scallops and Shrimp linguine which was very creamy and fresh scallops and shrimp. Also I had their Cheese Mozzarella. Which that was very good and cheesy. My sister and brother-in-law had their Salmon salad which was ok and they shared the Veal Saltimboca. This place you can bring your own beer or wine . Nice small little restaurant not to big just about maybe 6-7 tables so reservations is highly recommended so you'll have a table. Support local read more
Cute little Italian restaurant - it was a bit hard to locate since they don't have a sign with the restaurant's name up on the building like the other restaurants surrounding it. Kids don't like al dente pasta, so the penne with butter was perfect - not too hard or too soft for the kids. Kids loved their pasta and the loaf of bread that came with our meal. Husband had the penne with bolognese, which was okay. I had the lasagna, which was okay. The meat used in all their pastas was very dry and had some rock-hard fatty pieces that we had to spit out a few times, unfortunately. Would recommend ordering pastas without any meat in the future. Plenty of indoor seating, service is great, and the prices are reasonable. They also offer a 10% military discount. Didn't eat there, but took the food to-go. The staff was friendly and there was a parking lot with plenty of spaces shared with USPS, boba shop, Chinese restaurant, Japanese restaurant, etc. read more

Many of my Yelp friends have been too this restaurant. Lets. first find the Entrance , I walked right past it. From the parking lot go past Rabbit Rabbit Tea on the King street side. Then you pass the doors to Bangkok Chef and the next door is the entrance to la Ciccia. We had reservations for 5:30 and seated promptly. The server was pleasant and friendly. Appetizers ordered were the Bone Marrow, Calimari Felti and Fried Mozzarella Cheese. The bone marrow was a little disappointing. In both taste and price. My wife and I shared the Ve23rdal Saltimbocca and Smoke Salmon salad. Although portion size of the Veal Saltimbocca was generous the sauce was a bit oily. The Smoke Salmon was flavorful. The salad dressing was a bit bitter for my taste. Nice ambiance, good place for date nite. Enjoy. read more

The best lasagna on this island (at least to me). Lasagna isn't an easy dish to make, let alone perfect. Mitch and the crew at La Ciccia consistently crank out winners each night -- especially the lasagna that is enough to feed two but comes in an individual plate, perfect for lunch the next day. Loved the ambiance of this place, the staff was very friendly and pleasant. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms which was good but mostly tasted mushroom. Ordered the shrimp and spinach pasta , natto pasta and the shrimp and scallop pasta. The shrimp and scallop pasta could have had a little more sauce . It was a bit dry . The natto pasta was ok and the shrimp and spinach pasta tasted good except the spinach left a weird feeling in my mouth, kinda like when it's not washed well. We came here for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! The food here was delicious! The service was a little slow at times, but they were really friendly. The parking is where the old sushi king was, but there's also street parking available. The bone marrow was delicious. It was seasoned well, so it was great even without their sauce. I ordered the shrimp alla spinach and asked for the pink sauce instead. They were able to accommodate but I think they gave me a different dish instead because it came with scallops. I'm not allergic so I decided to just take it, but the scallops on my plate were definitely overcooked, so the texture was not great. Everyone else's scallops looked a lot better though, so it was just my dish. Overall, the food was good though and I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Husband and Wife owned restaurant although the wife doesn't really work here much. Pros: 1) Good Size Portions 2) Seafood the owner chef nails. It's really really good. Scallops are perfectly seared and shrimp were moist and succulent. It's not a one time thing because I've been here about 3 times. And seafood is always perfect. 3) The complimentary bread is amazing. It's like Assagios. Fresh baked and moist with a perfect crust. Recently had a wonderful lunch at LA Ciccia! It was another perfect Yelp find as I was in the area and looking for something new for lunch to take my girlfriend for her birthday. Parking was convenient rhe location is the old Sushi king spot. Our server was bubbly and efficient, interior decor was modern and fresh and atmosphere was refreshing. I also thought that the process were reasonable and not too inflated as I've been seeing other establishments price theories items. I tried one of their signature fusion items the Kinoko pasta $18 with shimeji mushrooms and bacon and I really loved it. The flavor was tasty unique with the shiso. The portion was generous and I had leftovers. My girlfriend had the calamari carpi which was delicious as well. They also gave us a complimentary birthday tiramisu which was delicious! From the outside, it looks like a little easy to miss hole-in-the-wall. Located in the same building as Rabbit Rabbit Tea, easily accessible parking lot with street parking as well. However, once you step inside, you'll be amazed by the modern decor and vibes. Very friendly staff and adequate spacing between tables that it feels intimate and doesn't get too loud. Great selection of both appetizers and pastas, and also had a few Japanese Italian fusion pastas, including mentaiko, natto, and kinoko pasta made with shimeji mushrooms. As a sucker for mushrooms in general, I got the kinoko and was blown away by the creaminess and bold umami flavors. Not as much bacon as you would probably like but the amount of mushrooms will leave you more than satisfied. My mom got the sausage appetizer with the add on of pasta and thoroughly enjoyed her meal. Lastly, I read a tip that recommended getting a side order of fried garlic; do not skip this tip! It's a beautiful addition sprinkled onto the bread and butter as well as into pastas for that extra crunch and texture. Honestly, no such thing as too much garlic! read more

One of my favorite past times is to try new places to eat. Came here for dinner with a few friends and we enjoyed ourselves. This place is BYOB. If you forgot and didn't know, there is a 7-Eleven right next door and a CVS close by. Service here was superb! Very friendly staff. With four of us, we tried a bunch of appetizers. Fresh shucked oysters with a tangy and spicy mignonette. Fungi on crustini was a tasty bite. I swear they had the best mussels I've ever had. Smooth and creamy, not rubbery like they usually are. Bone marrow, just get it! It was a Vietnamese take on flavors. Green onion sauce with fried onions. I wanted to lick and naw on the bone it was so delicious. Got the lamb rack for my entree. Terrific flavor, moist and tender. Though they did miss the mark and gave me well done instead of medium that I asked for. We were too full and didn't make it to dessert. Where is the parking?
There is parking where the Moiliili Post Office is. If the lot is full, then the next best thing is metered street parking. I've never had any issues finding parking while coming here to dine @ La Ciccia Italian Fusion.
Is this place BYOB?
Yes BYOB with corkage fee of $15 per bottle when I went there in December 2021.
