There is no room for improvement in this amazing restaurant. The atmosphere is welcoming, the host maître d' is knowledgeable, personable, and extremely accommodating. Service is unobtrusive and invisible but excellent. My oysters were fresh and properly shucked; companion enjoyed her artichoke leaves with gusto. Main courses were attractively presented and delicious. Desserts respectively of tiramisu and crème brûlée were excellent. Returning will be a pleasure indeed. read more

I have been an extreme fan of La Cigale from their first location to their current location. Unfortunately because of the pandemic I have not been able to go, until last night. The menu is basically the same which I enjoy however they were a little off last night. My wife order the pate platter and veal piccata no capers. She loved it. I ordered the Foie Gras which is my favorite item on the menu. It came out with a frozen center. $38 a pop there's no excuse for that. I also ordered the duck crispy which it was the Cassis reduction was very watery, almost as if they needed to stretch it out. I understand that all restaurants have a bad night, last night was theirs. I will return to the restaurant at a later date with the hopes that it was just a bad night. Nice ambiance and greeting. Oh well. I ordered the cioppino. The broth was just okay and the seafood was a big disappointment. The squid and tiny bay scallops were way over cooked and so rubbery. I have never seen bay scallops in a nice restaurant like this. They overcook in 2 minutes. Someone should have told the chef. I didn't eat it. No concern by the waiter. The waiter was attentive in the beginning, but what are you going to do when you don't want to ruin the evening by sending your food back? We also ordered cappuccinos and dessert after we were able to get the attention of the waiter. The whole staff seem to be more interested in setting up the tables for the next day. Our daughter took us to Mother's Day dinner here--a wonderful experience all the way around! Valet parking! Everyone gave us the VIP treatment. We loved the Calamari, Veal Piccata, Filet Mignon & Red Snapper! They offer a great variety of desserts--Creme Brûlée', Golden Apple Tarte and Chocolate Molten Cake were scrumptious! Want to check out an upscale restaurant in downtown Delray Beach? This is the spot to get your eat and wallet on. It's located off the strip and away from the madness of Atlantic Avenue. The chicken francese smothered with lemon caper sauce was served with potato purée, which I doubled up on since I didn't want green beans or the other sides that they offered. I prefer the cut over the string green beans, so blame the pickiness on me ;) I had a bite of my date's filet Mignon and dipped it in some béarnaise sauce that was included with his entree. You can never ever go wrong with béarnaise sauce for a topping on a meat. It is absolutely out of this world. We couldn't leave without having some sweets. The golden apple tarte was served warm and flambe at the table. Of course, the bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla cream was screaming my name before the dinner even came. When we stepped in here for dinner the other night, it exceeded our expectations. Our entrees were divine and the desserts were fantastic. The staff was friendly and right on top of everything. The meal tonight, which was Italian night, was perfect. We arrived for happy hour at 6 PM and had cocktails and then a wonderful meal which included flounder and chicken and veal. We chose tiramisu for dessert and it was awesome, enjoyed by all five of us. We chose the Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon as our wine choice and it was also great! I can understand why this restaurant has mixed reviews. It is overpriced and inconsistent. Some of the food is very good whereas, some of the food is just average. For example, the Coq Au Vin was excellent, one of the best, I've ever eaten. On the other hand, the Souppe de Poisson was just mediocre. The broth tasted lack luster!!! We only received four very small thin slices of baguette and they were not warm. The restaurant was extremely crowded and very, very noisy. It was almost impossible to hear your dinner partner above the din of the room. If I could've given this restaurant 3.5 stars I probably would've done that!!! read more

We were looking for a fine French restaurant to take family for a celebration - and read the positive reviews. We were a large table, all ordered apps. then entrees. The food was exceptionally good. Highlights: Mushroom soup special, Escargots, Foie Gras, the house baked bread, Coq a vin, Bronzino, dinner Crepes, Calamari w/ Escarole. Everything was served hot or at appropriate temps. The place wasn't busy - 3 other tables and some folks at the bar. The reason for 2 stars was the service. The staff was pleasant, cheerful, and accommodating. BUT, they have no idea how to pace a meal or how to service a table. It was a slow night, so its hard to imagine why they needed to rush us. The apps came out in less than 10 minutes after placing order. Some of our party were finished before others, but the staff was pulling plates from the table while others were still eating. You don't ever do that in a fine French eatery! After apps were cleared, entrees came out too quickly - we were still digesting first course. Various staff were again removing entree plates while others were still enjoying the meal. This was insane...how do they not know the proper service skills? Then a guy comes up and puts his hand on my plate to remove it - without asking if I was finished. Nasty! A clue was my fork was in my hand I was about to take another bite of the delicious Bronzino. But he didn't have a clue, so I politely mentioned I was still eating showing him the fork in my hand. Staff never asked anyone if they were finished, instead they attempt to read your mind. So wrong and inappropriate for a fine French restaurant that clearly has an above average chef in the kitchen. The only time you remove a plate from the table is after the customer is asked if their finished - not when the staff guesses your finished. Bottomline, if this was a diner or average dining establishment I could understand, but this is a very expensive fine French restaurant. It's hard too believe they don't know better - but since their not trained or supervised properly - it's clear management doesn't know or care about the basics of proper service. This would never have happen at Le Bec Fin, Per Se, Daniel, Le Bernadine, and other greats. Paid $100's for delicious meal, that was served by pleasant, But poorly trained waitstaff. read more

Returned for second time as am out of town visitor after reading Korinne M.s Yelp review. Service was very attentive and made for a good dining experience. The portions were modest but very good. I had a Caesar salad, with very good dressing, not overpowering and tender anchovies. I followed that with the seafood crepes, stuff with sea scallops and baby shrimp served over a bed of spinach and with a nice lobster sauce reduction. The chicken francese was good. The bar is deep. The desserts, an apple tartin and molten cake were so-so. The oysters were not well shucked and were not top grade. The decor is nice but the chairs are cheap for the $$$$ price. They have a few comfy ones, but most of the tables are not so well equipped. The place looks beautiful, but it's a bit loud and the menu is more attitude than delivery. To top it off La Cigale is UBER PRICEY, with charges that would be valid if Daniel Bolud was cooking, but not worthy of the food that they serve here. It's not that level of cuisine to justify it. The service was excellent. The valet was most professional. The bartender was terrific. The kitchen loses a star here. I tried it. I don't think I'd go back. For the money, I'd hit Cafe Bolud or another dozen restaurants first. read more

My dad and his wife invited my wife and me to a nice dinner to have a late celebration of my wife's birthday. They had visited La Cigale multiple times and wanted to share the experience with us. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING La Cigale did not disappoint! Between the food and the service of Andrea we were overly joyed with our dinning experience! We started with escargot and artichokes, moved into our main courses of Lamb Chops and scallops and oh boy was the food delicious. Andrea kept refilling our bread, water and wine making sure our thirsts were clenched. Then to top it off the waitstaff brought out a cake to sing to my wife, she asked for it to be sang in french and she got her wish! We ordered a Vanilla Creme Brûlée for dessert it was mouth watering with each bite, cooked to perfection. Let me start by saying that French is not my favorite unless of course I am in France and eating pastries but this place is one of the best French restaurants in Florida. The onion soup was perfect. They also had a Mussel cream soup that was not great but possibly due to it not being served hot enough. The dinners were excellent. See my pictures. They also have cheese plates with goat, Brie and Gorgonzola. It was good. They have some of the prettiest shrimp cocktails and the desserts were perfect. This is one of the few places that I have seen profiteroles. For those who don't know what it is. It's a cream puff filled w Icecream and chocolate sauce. Yummy. Service was perfect. The most friendly valet guy (Chaz) and dining service continued and ended with the nice staff. read more

My new favorite place for Happy Hour. All drinks are 2 for 1, which is great for a picky wino like me. You can even mix and do a cocktail then wine as a 2 for 1.
