OMG ITS SO GOOD!!! We came In here and did not leave disappointed. The fruit cup was amazing and I got it with candy. The Chamoy is on the sweeter side but i prefer it that way when I get it on fruit. They were out of watermelon which was a little sad but the taste alone made up for it.The corn cup seemed to be really fresh it did not taste like it was from a can. It still had a fresh crunch to it and boy was it cheesy. I'm definitely coming back. read more

Alas, it was a very good choice and their mangonadas are not only the real deal but a work of art. Think of their mangonadas as the bloody marys of raspas/shaved ice - they really decorate them with all kinds of stuff: fruits, candy and gummies - yes, freaking sour gummies. Aside from raspas, they do have a limited menu of food: burgers, tacos, enchiladas and even the ever-present corn-in-a-cup which was fresh, hot and they added a little extra chile to kick up the spicyness. Whenever I go to a fruiteria I cannot decide whether to get a fruit cup or a magonada. The magonadas at La Colmena are a mix of both worlds. Magonada, with fruit, sour candy and a tamarindo stick. Love it. They do have a lot of chomoy so be prepared. Highly recommend! read more

I've stopped by this place about 3 times this year. Each time I get the same person who is so nice and attentive. I love snack places and this one is so worth it! I usually like to get their Flammin Hot Cheetos Preparados that comes with crema, jalapeños and nacho cheese. Sounds a little funky, but try it out! You won't regret it. Their aguas frescas are so fresh and delicious! They make your own agua right in front of you. I think this is awesome and perfect because sometimes the consistency on the aguas can get a little weird. I have tried their limonada and their sandia. Sandia is my personally favorite because it has just the right amount of sweetness without being too overpowering. Their prices are justified in their product. Can't wait to stop by again! read more

Loved this place! I've been thinking about it since our last visit. We found this nice hidden gem right after we dined at one of the restaurants located in that strip, we were still hungry and La Colmena totally came to the rescue. You walk in, it's very yellow and green and above all, it's CLEAN! We placed our order at the counter with a very soft spoken sweet lady and salivated at the table until our order was finished. We ordered a corn cup, nachos, and a HUGE pickle. My baby sis likes corn cups but they're not really my cup of tea but I tried hers and was hooked, boy was it CALIENTE (buy water we didn't and suffered). You guys, the pickle was a DOLLAR and probably the best I've ever had...nice and sour! My nachos were made with Ricos cheese which I love, generous portion too. This is a great spot to bring kiddos during Spring Break or during summertime. Service is fantastic and everything is fresh! I'm such a fan! Fruteria next to Wu's Chinese Kitchen on Judson. They have all the usuals corn in a cup, Raspas, cucumber snacks, and even corn chips in a bag concoctions like tostilocos. Today, I got a mangonada and it was smooth and delicious. It was a little dry but once they stirred that chamoy in it, it became juicy. They don't speak any English, but there's plenty of pictures on the walls; just don't ask any extra questions, you might get something in your snowcone you don't want. They are open on Mondays early un like a lot of these places around here that aren't even open on Monday or they open after 4 o'clock. read more

They people there are very friendly and treat you like family. If you have a big order I do Recommend you call Ahead and palace your order cause they do get busy. The very young employees are the ones who obviously lack experience, but they do try. The environment is very clean, both visually and in smell. There is always a wide variety of various snacks, drinks, and food. The menu is always updated to give off a very passionate and creative experience. The quality of all products are superb, from a watermelon shaved ice to a mouth watering complex piccadilly. Aside from the usual Mexican classics there are also some baked goods from a nearby bakery, Mexican candies, paletas, drinks, shaved ice, chips plus so much more.
