She then continued to make a snide comment on the number of drinks we were ordering - what's with the passive aggressiveness? I didn't know that there was some rule that each person was required to order something. Like, are you okay? I just had a bad feeling about all of this, and we should have just walked out instead of giving our money to support this business - to add to it all, the coffees that we did receive (latte with soy milk, and the mocha) were just poorly made and not strong at all; they were both watered down and bitter at the same time... come on! I would recommend atleast 2 people to be working since I saw the line get much longer after I was served. I made my way to the lobby where there is plenty of seating. My latte was good and gave me the pep I needed for the day. The blueberry muffin was very disappointing. It was really cold, almost as if it had just came out of a refrigerator. I wouldn't mind a room temperature muffin but I did not like it cold. Also, there was only about 5 blueberries throughout the whole muffin. I don't think this should constitute as a blueberry muffin. The cappuccino, albeit decent, was overpriced for its general quality and quantity. I also read that Maman's recent expansion was backed by private equity, which seems coded. A decade ago when Maman started in NYC, they were known for homemade fare of exceptional quality, so it appears that we're seeing private equity's impact on a few of the cut corners here. I'll throw them a couple stars for the friendly staff, elegant dining room, and solid location in Pentagon City, but the food quality isn't up to snuff to warrant a $23 price tag.

One time, I even had a drink remade like four times here before they got it right. These days, the crew is still nice. This morning, I did have to have a drink remade, and after it was remade, it tasted exactly the same as it did the first time, which was not great. However, I have definitely had worse, and I've definitely been to locations where they were not as willing to remake it or had an issue with doing so.
