This coffee shop is tucked away right off of king's street, and their lattes are really good! Its not too sweet, and came out quickly. They also have a brunch spot and limited seating, but we found counter seats.

Lovely location and interior with a great concept and vibe! I'm glad there's a Latino coffee shop-restaurant hybrid in the area serving all kinds of foods from various Latin American countries. I came for their popular coffee- got the famous Dirty Horchata (horchata with espresso shots) which was prepared pretty fast. It was tasty, but TOO sweet for my liking. I also expected the horchata to be smooth, but it was quite grainy (I'm never a texture snob, but I wasn't a fan of it). Overall, not bad, but not the best I've had. Definitely come try it and other foods here! I'm curious to try out their menu and will return.

Such a great coffee shop in Alexandria! I highly recommend the seasonal drinks, and the frochatta (frozen horchata; you can make it dirty!) in the summer months. There's a decent amount of seating (inside and out), and staff is very friendly and quick. There's street parking around, although it fills up.

We decided to pop in here while shopping in Alexandria, for brunch. It's a super cute place that apparently has just been renovated (think industrial farm house style). They have a huge outdoor patio, but we elected to sit upstairs. We picked a cozy corner window and were promptly greeted by our server. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and love trying different coffee shops, and he was just extremely happy for a black coffee (he said it was strong!). I got the cold brew, and he got the endless drip coffee. He got the bacon egg and cheese croissant, I got the Brie strawberry toast. His was well portioned and mine was smaller than expected that he felt bad and was like "what did you do, order a snack?" It was pretty delicious, I just wish there was more of it to a serving. His was also delicious. As for the coffee I was a little bummed. I did not like my cold brew, yes there was ice in it, but it felt/tasted watered down and bitter from the first sip. Even with milk it didn't help me like it better. Which was unfortunate. I'm gonna just chalk it up to a bad coffee moment. Place is super cute and bustling with very kind people and good food.

Visited: June 25, 2025 | Total Spent: $31.80 I came out looking for food and ended up finding peace in a wine glass at LaPluma Coffee & Wine. Tucked away on Cameron Street in Alexandria, this spot is the definition of a hidden gem -- cozy, stylish, and welcoming. The atmosphere is a perfect mix of wine bar and boutique café. Think: exposed brick, pendant lighting, marble-top tables, and a stunning wine display behind the bar. There's even a charming patio for outdoor sipping when the weather's right. I arrived close to closing, but Danny still took amazing care of me -- no rushing, just great service and wine knowledge. I ordered two reds: Bella Ribera Del Duero 2020 - smooth, full-bodied, and an excellent introduction. La Verde - hands down my favorite. It was flavorful, balanced, and the kind of glass that makes you cancel plans and just vibe. Wine by the glass ranges from $13-$16. Non-alcoholic drinks are $3-$7. Food prices sit between $10-$18. (I didn't eat this time, but I'll be back for the bites and their matcha!) Street parking is the only option, so come prepared to parallel. But trust me -- it's worth the effort. They've only been open for a couple of months, but it already feels like the type of place you'll want to return to again and again. Whether you're solo, catching up with a friend, or need a wind-down moment after a long day -- LaPluma delivers.

Brunch was delicious! We were able to find two seats at the upstairs bar, and enjoyed their drip coffee, omelet, and salvi sub. We split the breakfast dishes and paired nicely. Our food was very flavorful, well-seasoned , and fresh. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend if you're in the Old Town Alexandria area. We will be back for their happy hour!

Finally got to check out Lapluma. I am a fan of unique coffee drinks, and this definitely hit the spot. I enjoyed the iced horchata latte, and I could tell that they take their time in making drinks correctly which is always a green flag. They have a medium sized outdoor seating area which would be lovely on a nice day. I also tried a chocolate croissant and it was decent - not the best I've had, but it could be that I got it a bit later in the day, so would be willing to try other food when I come again! Tip: The entrance is on the side by their outdoor patio and may be a little hard to find FYI.

Everything here is correct! I initially didn't want to review this spot so I could keep it all to myself. The food and service are both fantastic. We've been here three times in the last 2 weeks and shoutout to Noel for being so awesome! For food, we've gone for both the breakfast and wine bar. The coffee is amazing and the Guatemalan breakfast is delicious! The wine bar is great and quiet, but you definitely are there for the food not the wine list.

La Pluma is a Latin coffee and wine shop that has recently opened in Old Town. I love that they offer breakfast options at 7:00am. There is an outdoor patio which is a nice place to sit and eat. I am not usually a savory breakfast person, but I had to try the Chapin breakfast. This breakfast is a traditional Guatemalan breakfast meal that includes a fried egg, sausage, avacado, refried beans with crema. The menu said it is served with fresh fruit but I didn't get any fruit. The house made chips were divine! I wanted more of them. I also ordered the strawberry and Brie toast. The toast was lite and the strawberry flavor was well balanced. Get the dirty horchata ! I was surprised how good this drink was. La Pluma also serves wine. I think this would be a great place to go and sit at their outdoor patio and enjoy a glass or two. I will definitely be returning to La Pluma. Service and hospitality was amazing.

New cafe and bar in Alexandria that actually opens late! My friend and I enjoyed their outside terrace area. We sat at the bar seats that faced the street this past Thursday night. The decor was minimal, but warm and inviting. The cold brew I got was delicious -- it was chocolaty and nutty, the perfect medium roast with a nice after taste. It was also not too expensive (less than $5, if I recall correctly). La Pluma is full of good vibes and in a more secluded area, which was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, too.

Excellent new cafe and restaurant! I'm a frequent visitor to Old Town and here for a long stay-- this time i got my coffee from Lapluma every morning. Alexandria has an abundance of coffee shops but this place stands out because of its wonderful staff and GREAT menu for any time of the day! They're open late for dinner service as well as early in the morning. The first floor for to go orders is somewhat small but it's only during peak hours or if customers insist on standing in the way of others instead of thinking to move to the sides and trusting the courtesy of the line. Upstairs dining is soooooo cute and the outdoor patio that is street facing but covered and has a nice privacy fence is really nice! Great, clean space with lots of lighting.

The service was great! Greeted right away, all questions answered and the server was attentive. There was indoor and outdoor seating, with a chill vibe. 10/10 on food and coffee. Tostones were excellent. I had the drip coffee and it was some of the best I've had in the area. Definitely returning.

Wow this place was amazing!! Came here with my best friend who's in town before he leaves to SC and told him I've been wanting to check this place out. We came on a Wednesday so we were able to grab some street parking and walk up about two minutes. We were greeted as we came in and went up to the bar area to find a seat to sit. Our server was kind and we both got the Chapin breakfast and it was sooooo good! We also got a fro-chata and I had a glass of the red wine (can't remember the name) and everything was a 10/10! The ambiance was giving elegant Christmas and I love the dark wood and brick walls they have. I'd definitely come back!

The view itself is quite impressive and beautiful; it's a 5 out of 5! Frankly, the view helped bump my rating up to a 4 as it was really a 3.5 overall experience. We were greeted by a server that shared that he was not our server, but dropped off two waters for us. He later passed us again and told us our server would be with us soon, after some more time had passed we asked him for straws for our water and then our waitress came back with those requested straws. She didn't greet us, but rather said here are the straws you asked for, would you like anything to drink. I asked her if she was our server and she confirmed, but I was disappointed that she didn't greet us/welcome us, ask us if this was our first time, tell us her name or at minimum independently communicate she would be our server. My husband ordered a drink, I did not and then eventually we put in our orders - deviled eggs trio (one with smoked salmon, one with bacon and one with salmon), I got the crab benedict and my hubby got the salmon and grits. Both of our meals were good and cooked well, however they both lacked flavor and w found ourselves reaching for the salt and pepper multiple times. The deviled eggs trio on the other hand, was delicious and the star of the show. All in all, I can honestly say, I will definitely be back as the views are fantastic and I truly feel the food is better than what we experienced.

He was in the mood for Lahmacun (sounds like Lahamajoun) super thin, crispy pizza topped with a mixture of minced meat with peppers, tomato, herbs, and spices. More fine, light, and delicate than the typical American thin pizza. The service, drinks, and food were beyond stellar in Narman. We felt like the only customers there and were waited on by many staff. The highlight of the day there was their pizza and their beverage presentation and flavors. We came on a weekday night and were the only people there in the end. My husband was impressed at how upscale the restaurant was and it was the finest Turkish restaurant he ever visited. He said it was similar to the hotel dining place he lived at in Turkey. This was our first restaurant in downtown Alexandria and one of our best experiences in Alexandria. The Lahmacun was the finest Turkish pizza my husband ever had. He ordered three of them! Each pizza was served on a large wood board with extra toppings on the side like lemon wedges, cilantro, and onions. They are so fine and thin that you can roll them up to eat. We had to put some of the last pizza aside for take out. I ate the takeout piece and was very impressed how delicious it was after being in the fridge overnight & re-heated. I loved the flavors of the Lahmacun and I don't even care for pizza that much. It is my most preferred pizza in my life ever next to the Crazy Ex in The Thirsty Goat in Clarksville, Tennessee. I ordered a Turkish dish with a rich and ancient history, Hunkar Begendi, or "Sultan's Delight." It dates back several centuries, and it was prepared for the sultans and high-ranking officials, and was served during special occasions and celebrations. The Hunkar Begendi had lamb and velvet soft eggplant with spices. I ordered it with a side of rice. It was very delicious and unique. Yet the Lahmacun despite its simplicity stole the show and cost 1/3 of the price of the Hunkar Begendi. For my beverage, I ordered The Elma. It has a stunning presentation in a smoke filled glass box. The Elma is a beverage with Bourbon, Peach liquor, vanilla maple, Apple butter,Lemon juice, and Apple cider. You have to watch the videos of how it is presented at the table. At the end of our dinner, they played happy birthday and surprised my husband with an ice cream and pumpkin dessert with a candle. So wonderful & heartfelt. It was a fascinating and flavorful dish. The pumpkin tasted like sweet potato & was different. This is a must see place for Turkish cuisine and the finest restaurant service. Prices are low to fair for such high quality food and service. Five Stars.

All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!
