Ultimately went with the ham and cheese croissant and a cold brew. Very quick service too. By the time I ordered everything was ready so I went out back. Cold brew is a nitro so it was light and strong at first then got bitter as it sat. Ham and cheese was stellar. Very flaky pastry on the outside and cheesy with enough ham inside. Perfect start to the morning!

We ordered an empanada, a churro donut, almojabana, and the pan de bono. I'm vegetarian so I was very happy to see such a wide number of options for me! The churro donut was delicious and cinnamony - if you like sweet breakfasts, definitely get this! I really enjoyed the almojabana and the pan de bono. I liked the pan de bono so much, I even took a picture of the crumb to share with my mother, who is Colombian! Truly, I could have eaten 5 of the pan de bono because they tasted just like the homemade one's my abuela would make when she visited.

In addition to coffee, lattes, cappuccino and other similar drinks, Tala offers a small section of muffins and pastries as well as a small lunch menu. I'd love to go back and try a sandwich with my next latte. The location is odd, in an industrial area off the beaten path. But considering the crowd in there, the word is clearly out and people are flocking to it!

He made some great recommendations based on my preferences and offers items in bean or grounded formats. I purchased the Costa Rica Marigold option based on the notes listed. He gave me beans that had been roasted that day! The beans are high quality but not has flavor forward as I'm used to. Either way, pricing was very fair and seems to always have all options in stock.

It's been really nice to be able to order coffee beans and have them delivered since we're so close to the store, but going there is easy too - convenient location and plenty of parking. The coffee itself has been solid - I am not a black coffee drinker, but my partner is, and he has consistently enjoyed the coffee he's gotten there. On our last visit to the shop, Alex told us about the other location they own, Maple Leaf Coffee House in St. Charles - we're hoping to check that out soon!

They provided us with a deluxe coffee bean grinder, a two-station coffee maker, and a two-station espresso machine. They do have an emergency technician on call to stop by immediately if we ever have any issues. Lastly and most importantly, our customers absolutely love their coffee and it's one of the reasons why we've been able to be so successful in such a competitive market. This is a very tiny coffee shop and for those of you not terribly familiar with Hinsdale (myself amongst them) the place looks like it's in an alley but it's not; you're turning down the right street. There are a few parking spots down here so that makes it convenient. The shop has a good drink menu and also has donuts/muffins/sandwiches. I had a breakfast panini and I liked it. I wasn't sure what I'd think since I am always a bit on the fence about avocado, but wanted to try it without modifications. I liked the black beans on it more than I expected to. Overall it's an ok spot but the drinks are better than the food options. The owner has a great handle on her regulars; she was greeting folks as they came in and remembered the coffee order of a woman who hasn't been in for a while because she remarked on how surprised she was that she remembered her usual. There's no seating in the cafe, it's strictly a grab-and-go place. But they have an app of their own that you can use to order, and based upon what the owner was telling a customer, it generally works better than using the Toast app.
