But when we dog-sat for a family member and were given a generous Starbucks gift card, it was only fair to find something he could enjoy too. Enter the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher. So delish! We have made this Albany Park Starbucks location an occasional date spot where we share a Refresher, chat, people-watch and play our daily Wordle. While not one of the more spacious Starbucks in the city, the interior is inviting and well-lit due to a lot of windows. There is not a wealth of cozy seating, but the basic seating is comfy enough. There is a parking lot that seems to become a tad busy on weekends, but not too terrible. Incredibly unprofessional manager, I had been interviewing and speaking to the manager Jessica from the beginning of May to the middle of June for a job opportunity at this Starbucks. Jessica was constantly not in office and took days to weeks to respond. She did not show up to my initial interview and had taken a couple of weeks to plan the next interview after I had been calling and emailing multiple times for a response. After interviewing twice I got ghosted, without response from both Jessica the manager and Precious the district manager when I was supposed to get a decision 24-48 hours after my second interview. I've been coming to this Starbucks regularly to study, and it's honestly one of the best parts of my routine. The space is cozy and perfect for focusing, but what really makes it special is the team. The staff are always so kind, sweet, and genuinely friendly. They greet me with a smile, remember my usual order, and even take a moment to ask how I'm doing, which means more than they probably realize. It's rare to find a place where you can be productive and still feel so welcomed. Huge thanks to the team for creating such a positive, warm atmosphere. So far so good. Haven't had a problem. I was really bummed out when they closed for 3 weeks or so for renovation, but it's for the better. There's definitely a more modern look to it. They're renovating because it's worth renovating, right? Typically it's busy on afternoons so there aren't many empty tables. The parking lot is typically packed as well. They have patrons that are people who stay to have drinks (and study or talk), or people who are on the go. In my last visit, the barista was super friendly. I was starving en route to that Starbucks and figured to order over the phone as I was driving so I don't have to wait. - I'm on my way to this place can I make my order over the phone please? - We don't do that - A few days back I was able to make my order over the phone with you - Well.. we typically don't do that - Thank you, you're very helpful As came, I ordered the oatmeal, the nuts and the berries. They got me the dried fruits instead of the berries (fresh blueberry goes by the berries among the cashiers). I was trying to ask if they had types of tea other than packaged and the cashier wasn't interested in sharing that information with me. In the end he gave up and told me there's soon going to be full leaf tea available. Point scored. I also ordered the turkey pesto panini sandwich, which wasn't fresh as I tasted it. The bad news is their sandwiches don't have the "packaged on" date or something like that, which makes it impossible to differentiate a sandwich made this morning and overnight leftover one. They claim their sandwiches get delivered every morning which I don't believe. - I want to make a complaint. I didn't enjoy my sandwich, I had to throw it away halfway eaten. It didn't taste like fresh. I got my refund right away which is the good news. My stomach voted no on the half of the sandwich I ate, so I should have tested the smell before I took a bite. After a serious contemplation, I decided to redeem my birthday reward (don't laugh). Before moving to Chicago, I used to be able to tolerate the coffee that Starbucks made. However, I have all the respect to the baristas, but I'm too libertarian to trust large corporations. That's all. I got a venti vanilla macchiato and hubby got the vanilla bean frappe. I knew what I was tasting: pure sugar with vanilla flavor. I'm sorry, but Starbucks just can't measure up with some of the awesome local and mom and pop coffee shops here in Chicago. The entire place was busy, on a non-festive Thursday evening. There were some students burning "early evening oil" and some working professionals were having some meetings. the ladies here were so sweet :) super enthusiastic and friendly. now this part isn't relevant but it's the first time a starbucks has ever spelled my name right, because my name is commonly spelled in a different way. upon receiving my drink, the baristas kindly asked if they spelled it right and we had a nice little conversation. as someone who does work in retail and around customers very often, i love taking a particular interest in people behind the counter and being extra respectful. i love talking with customers and taking interest in them too besides just selling the product. loved seeing these ladies. i had a great experience with these baristas. can't wait to come see them again! read more

Today I walked in at 11am with my mother and ordered a ICED honey citrus mint tea, strawberry frapp, nitro cold brew, and bakery goods. The cashier let my mom know the total was 25.30 when the screen showed 23.63 and she claimed it was 25.63 even after the credit card scanner said 23.63. On top of this lady in the register trying to keep a 2$ tip she forgot to put in the strawberry frapp and the honey citrus tea. She thenmade the honey citrus tea HOT. I've never had a BAD customer service experience during my many visits to Starbucks until today! When I ordered my drink, I got no eye contact, no smile, no "Thank you"--prerequisites for a tip in my book. There were 3 people working and the store was not busy, but it took forever to get my drink. The staff was more focused on complaining about recent customers than on serving the ones waiting in front of them. I did get a "sorry for the wait" when my drink was served (after confusion from the staff about what was written on my cup--had to remind them what is was), but it rang hollow after this disappointing experience. When you set the bar high, you have to execute EVERY time--perhaps it was an off day, but I'll think twice before visiting this location again. read more

Came here around 9:30pm. They got my mocha out pretty fast. In less than 3 minutes I believe. It was the worse mocha I have ever tasted. Yea the staff is great but the coffee sucks. I order my mocha everywhere I go, McDonald's, dunkin donuts, coffee beanery, java mug, etc. but this was the first time I wanted to throw up. It was bitter and it tasted like it was a mix of coffee and hot chocolate. Will never come here for the coffee again. Maybe just stick to the deserts. read more

Bought $60 in gift cards for my daughter's teachers there and ordered a seasonal drink for me, using my free treat. Service was nice, drink came quickly...but that's where it ended. Looked at my account and realized I was charged for the free treat, seasonal latte. When I asked the barista taking my order he admitted to knowing it didn't go through but decided not to tell me?!? Then I finally get a chance to try my beverage and realize it was completely wrong, and tasted awful. There are lots of things I like about this Starbucks. Its quite and clean and the staff is very friendly. The service, however is slow. This can be a very busy place with several people waiting on line -- I think the management needs to look at other busy Starbucks and adopt some of the service poliices that keep things moving in other locations: more than one barrista, someone taking orders of customers on line before they get to the register, register staff working the register only (not making food), staff to keep the coffee makers going, etc. I enjoy going here. The product is up to par with any other Starbucks. But I find myself overly frustrated by the wait on line and then for coffee preparation. read more

I like this Starbucks location. As other reviewers have noted, there aren't many in the area. The other is SW of this one at Kedzie & Wilson and that also has parking. This one is bigger with a couch as well as easy chairs and small and mid size tables. If you are driving, this is on the NW side of the Pulaski/Lawrence intersection, and you might want to keep an eye out for Staples because Staples is much more visible from the road and they have parking in the same big lot (along w/Pollo Campero). I have nothing against the other location, but if I had to drive to one or the other this would be my first choice. I'm all about more seating options & more space. Bring a sweater though if you don't like lots of AC. read more

I was so excited when another Starbucks opened near my house. I am right smack dab in between this new Starbuck's and the one at Kedzie and Wilson. I have to say that I like this one so much better. Maybe because it's so new, but the people working there are so nice. The lady who I believe is the manager is really knowledgeable about what drink goes with what food. Starbucks, Oh Starbucks, how I love thee... I have been a faithful drinker of Starbucks coffees for many years. I have been to locations all over America (ok well, just in Illinois and Texas and some states in between). This Starbucks rates at the top of my list. I pass by this Starbucks 1-2 times a week. It is the ONLY one located off of Lawrence from Clark to River Road. Because of my slight addiction (ok, major addiction) to Starbucks I HAVE to stop and get a drink. When you walk in the door you get friendly smiles from the Baristas and actual eye contact. 9 out of 10 times when I order my favorite drink they ask if I would like an extra shot on the house...of course I always say yes...
