I'd probably give this place a 3.5 if I could. Our server was new to serving, and she was quite honestly the highlight of the trip- I'm sorry I don't remember her name, because she was lovely. She explained that she was new, and then went above and beyond to make sure she got everything right. In a month, she'll be running the place! The ambience was cute, it was cool to see how they went from Duffy's, a sports bar, and reimagined It to be a higher-end Mexican place. I think they removed some tint from the windows, because the view outside to the lake was clear and gorgeous. The bar is in the same spot, but walls have come down and the bathroom was... gorgeous. Which is weird to say about a bathroom. But you could tell how much thought went into every detail. The food is where it sort of fell apart for me. I was so excited to have white queso down the street, but it was a little disappointing. There was a bit of tangy to it that I didn't expect but was fine after a few bites, once I'd reconciled what my brain expected vs. What i was eating, but the consistency was off; melted on the outside, but more solid on the inside. As if someone had put it in a microwave once, didn't stir it and re-heat, if that makes sense. He ordered the mojo shrimp, he enjoyed them but had to add a good bit of salt, which surprised me because he doesn't usually add salt to anything. I got the birria tacos. They were definitely filling! They could have used a bit more crunch, but that may be my fault- they were so hot and fresh, I may have left them to cool off too long and taken some of the crisp away. The consomme really didn't have much flavor, and even adding the entire container of... I'm not sure what it was, maybe something pepper-based? That came with it really still left it sort of bland. The food wasn't terrible, it just seemed a bit mediocre. Like if a friend had made it at home for the first time, I would have complimented it and added suggestions, but for a restaurant that already has another location, you'd expect it to be perfected. Still, it's the closest white queso to me, and like I said, the service was phenomenal. I probably wouldn't go back for a full meal, but if I'm craving queso I'd probably grab a bar seat and order it with a drink.

Wow great location and remodel overlooking the lake. Enjoyed the fajitas and our daughter said one of the best burgers ever! My wife loved the Margaritas. Next time we will go back and get the table side guacamole

The last time we eat here it was Duffy's. Now its a Mexican restaurant. Wow! What a renovation, they place looks incredible! We started with chips and salsa, chips were very good and the salsa was a bit spicy, but very good. Then we decided to share a couple of empanadas, it came with pineapple salsa and slaw. We didn't eat the slaw but the empanadas and the pineapple salsa were excellent. For dinner we did the mixed fajitas for two. I loved it, my wife liked it but thought it could have had more meat and less vegetables. What she really liked was we each got our own plate of toppings. Our server was very young but he was very good, although he did forget to ask if we wanted to see a dessert menu. We paid our bill with cash and he had a difficult time change. Not his fault, the restaurant should have enough cash on hand to handle moments like that.

Super cute place!

Loved the chicken chimichanga! Marcella the waitress was amazing! I'm so happy to have a great new Mexican restaurant in Weston! Great food, service and ambience!

The ceviche is great, fajitas are sizzling, and there are plenty of options for the kids. Complimentary chips and refried beans. Excellent friendly and attentive service with a smile. They must have checked on us 6 or 7 times after serving the main course. Live music after 8pm. Nice clean environment. This place deserves all the praise it's getting and more. There were seven of us for Taco Tuesday, and from the moment we sat down, our waitress seemed irritated that she had to serve our table. We ordered quickly because we already knew what we wanted. I ordered four Birria tacos on corn tortillas ($19.00) and a michelada ($9.90). Everyone else's food came out correctly, but mine did not. The tacos were clearly served on flour tortillas instead of corn. I politely pointed out the mistake and asked for them to be replaced. Instead of correcting the order, the waitress brought back the exact same plate and looked me in the eye while insisting they were corn tortillas. They absolutely were not, and my friends confirmed the same. I refused to eat them and ended up taking them home for my daughter. What makes this especially upsetting is that this isn't just about getting an order wrong--mistakes happen. The problem is that the restaurant chose to lie rather than fix it. If this had been a customer with a gluten allergy or celiac disease, the consequences could have been serious. Serving the wrong food is one thing; knowingly trying to pass it off as something it isn't is completely unacceptable and incredibly irresponsible.

The event was almost done and I decided to just get a refund cause my kids were hungry from being under the sun. I didn't even get a soda, which is right there my dad has the receipt and he goes to the front to the cashier and do the refund is what I thought. He gives the receipt back and my only mistake was not taking a photo of the receipt me going home, thinking nothing of it threw away the receipt after waiting weeks and don't see a refund or anything being returned I was confused it was $66 so yes I will get frustrated because if I at least taste at the food, it will be a different story but I didn't even get the soda. They were all confused who got an order who didn't they weren't organized it was a man and a woman working and they had to call the owner. He even told a few people that he plan on closing because of all the confusion I called the owner. Let him know the situation all he did was get upset talk over me and told me to call the bank. They will deal with it, but the bank wants a receipt so I just feel bamboozled and you're going to a church and stealing from the people is diabolical and the message you sent me is nasty.

For dessert was a traditional Mexican candy called Tarugo or Cimoy Tajin. This eatery has been here for eight years and I cant believe its my first visit. Chilangos Mexican Grill definitely needs to be added to the list of phenomenal hole-in-the-wall…read morerestaurants!!! Even if you know the address, you may drive right past it. The restaurant is buried in a line of other businesses door-to-door from each other, and hidden behind shrubbery. Once you find it, you will know it. There are husband and bride skeletons on the floor in the window by the door. Once inside, we were greeted, and asked if our order was pickup. It was to go. The wonderful and very busy woman at the counter, offered the menu, but we already had one. She was busy not just taking orders, taking payments, and getting deliveries out the door, but mixing drinks, and taking care of tables! She was a one woman army! Outside looks small, and so does the inside. But the layout is done in such an effective way that it there is counter seating, and more than enough tables to host a small event. It is like a small living room that is still large enough to throw a decent party! The décor is authentically Mexican with Mexican pottery, glassware, imagery, decorations, etc. Regarding the food, it is as authentic as the décor. Chilangos Mexican Grill is not Taco Bell or Pollo Tropical! The food is made from the heart and soul not from a corporate cookbook. So if you are a fan of Mexican food, or want to try it, visit Chilangos Mexican Grill. You may have trouble finding it, but once you do, the trouble will be MORE THAN worth it!!!
