Eddie V's is genuinely the place to celebrate anything special. This place is located at the top of La Jolla Shores, so the view of the ocean is breathtaking! The service here is impeccable, and Max is genuinely one of the best! He made my graduation dinner so special, and I will definitely be coming back here again. Max started us off with complimentary champagne. It was really good! The raspberry added a nice touch of color. For food, I would definitely recommend the seafood when coming here. The sides, such as the crab fried rice, lobster mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus are a must get! Super flavorful and filling. I recommend ordering an entree and having sides to share with everyone! I also got the lobster tacos which were amazing. Their tortillas are very special and Max will tell you why. I also got the crab stuffed shrimp which was very flavorful. I got the best of two worlds with this one dish. Max ended our night with their famous banana cake dessert (not sure what it's called) but it was sooo good and I will forever be craving it until I go back! This might be the best upscale restaurant in La Jolla (in my opinion)!
Wow! What a top-notch dining experience with ocean view to boot! The service was exceptional and great care was taken from the moment we were seated to the time we left. We felt special and well cared for throughout our dining experience. I can see why our companions come here often. It's worth every penny! Additionally, the mixologist was outstanding crafting well-balanced cocktails for customers to enjoy. The food was expertly prepared using only the highest quality ingredients. Every bite melted in our mouths. It was a memorable culinary experience. We left feeling more than satisfied.
Service was good as expected. Seafood tower was good. Just shrimps were a bit overcooked. Crab was marinated with a bit of oil, which I liked. Lobster was perfect. Oyster can be bigger but I guess it is a preference as well. Sole was nice.
What a wonderful dining experience in La Jolla! Decided to make a reservation for this weekend to celebrate a wedding anniversary and was craving a steak and seafood restaurant to try out in the area rather than driving to Downtown San Diego or the Gas Lamp District. In making the reservation I had indicated that we would be celebrating our anniversary, and so it was nice that the servers and staff/manager made it a point to welcome us and congratulate us on that. We had a 6:30pm reservation and were seated pretty promptly. Only waited maybe 5-10 min before being shown to our table. This place is pretty popular and had several large groups celebrating all sorts of things this evening. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining, and just beautiful views of the water from almost every table. We composed our meal for the evening as such: 1. Starters: half dozen oysters and beet/burrata salad 2. Mains: ordered the rib eye and "surf & turf" filet and lobster tails 3. Sides: au gratin cheesy potatoes, asparagus, and Brussel sprouts. 4. Dessert: complimentary butter cake bananas foster, and we added the crème brûlée. Overall impressions of the food: excellently prepared to our liking. The steaks were cooked to our desired temperature requests (mine was medium rare, while my wife's was medium). Solid tasting and high quality beef. I finished my 22oz rib eye and even my wife's portion of filet mignon that she couldn't finish. Asparagus was grilled to perfection and had a nice crunch still. The brussel sprouts were good too. The au gratin potato was heavy but that's expected when ordering that style. Maybe too cheesy! I wish their menu offered a baked potato option that was just plain or straight forward and not the $80 over the top kind which comes with caviar. I should have just asked if they'd make me a plain baked potato! Great value and beautiful location! Amazing service and friendly, attentive staff! I can see why there are so many regulars who keep coming back!
I've always had a good experience at Eddie Vs but tonight was by far the best. My best friend and I were both celebrating our birthdays and our waiter was just absolutely the best! I feel bad as I forgot to check the check for her name but she was working at the bar tonight during happy hour and she was beyond stellar. The whole Eddie Vs crew from the from hostess stand to our food delivery, was honestly just wonderful. Made our night feel very special. Our food overall was super good and cocktails were 10/10. Only small note is that we ordered our filet mignon medium and it definitely came out more on the medium well to well done side but the flavor and texture made up for it for sure! Au gratin potatoes side was *chefs kiss*. We were so kindly gifted a banana foster dessert for our birthday and omg, Devine is an understatement. Happy Hour here is awesome. Views when sitting outdoors are also lovely. Parking is street parking or valet.
For our anniversary dinner the other night we ended at Eddie V's. It was the perfect choice, a very class act great food and truly some of the best service I've ever had by a fellow name, John. He became like a friend at dinner and that made the night exceptional. The same as how the restaurant took care of us with rose petals on the table and a dessert that was fabulous. Wine list to die for food for every type of person really nice experience. Can't wait to go back.
Eddie V's always hits the spot on service, ambiance and of course the food. The view is just a bonus! Went during lunch and parking is always a hassle in La jolla and there is a smell for outside seating so just be aware. Overall, had a great experience (:
Eddie V's! One word...AHMAZZZZING!! First and foremost...you must make a reservation for a table upstairs! The view is phenomenal! The set up is great! They have heaters if it's chilly! We had a party of 14, and the staff did an amazing job of taking care of us! We never wanted for anything! Jeremiah was super attentive and amazing at remembering what everyone was drinking!, The food...chef's kiss! I wish I had taken more pictures of the food, but I was in the moment! For appetizers, we had shrimp, crab cakes, and oysters! I personally had the Goat Cheese Salad and the Sea Bass. The sides we shared were asparagus, Brussel Sprouts, Crab Fried Rice, Truffle Mac and Scalloped Potatoes! It was all fresh and delicious!! When in the San Diego/La Jolla area, you must go to Eddie V's!
02/03/26 Amber, our waitress, paid attention to detail. She checked in on us often and had a quick chat with us. At the end of the meal, she brought hot lemon scented towels for us to clean our hands. That was a nice touch! Amber's friendly demeanor made our dining experience here more pleasant! Ordered: -22 oz Ribeye $79- melt in your mouth, so tender! -Lamb Chops $69- yummy delicious! -Burrata & Beet Salad $18- refreshing! -Filet Tartare $26- my husband enjoyed it. -Truffle Mac $19- loved the truffle. -Lobster Bisque $19- creamy delicious, the best I had! -Lobster Tacos $29- tasty lobster. -Au Gratin Potatoes $17- very rich. We came here to celebrate Valentine's Day and were immediately impressed. Upon arrival, we were first greeted outdoors by the hostess and then by Ben, who welcomed us warmly. He offered the ladies a rose along with a chance to win a gift card to Eddie V's. Sadly, my partner didn't win, but it was a fun touch. We were also offered complimentary champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, which was a really nice gesture and set the tone for the evening. We were then escorted to our table, which had a beautiful ocean view, something my partner absolutely loved, since she's a big ocean person. Bonus points there. Shortly after, we were greeted by our waitress, Phoebe. She was fantastic throughout the night, helpful with wine recommendations, attentive without being overbearing, and consistently checking in on us. We truly appreciated her service, and she even stepped in as our photographer for the night. For food, we started with the crispy rice with tuna as our appetizer, followed by the salmon and filet mignon for our entrees. Everything was excellent, flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Shoutout to Odin as well for delivering our food, he was polite and professional. All in all, it was a wonderful Valentine's Day outing, and the Eddie V's team really made the night special.
My favorite place to celebrate special occasions in San Diego! This is the place to go when you want a guaranteed great experience. The environment is classy, the views are impeccable, the food is to die for and the staff is excellent. I've been here for birthdays and Valentine's Day, and each visit has been nothing short of excellent. Looking forward to returning once again soon!
Our waitress was attentive and friendly despite it being completely booked. We had a great view of La Jolla from the inside. We ordered the sashimi, Chilean sea bass, 12oz wagyu strip, scallops and au gratin potatoes. Our waitress asked kitchen to make all the mains shareable. I loved everything especially the steak and broth that the sea bass was steamed in. The au gratin potatoes were a delicious side. The steak was tender and seasoned perfectly to my liking. For desert we had to try the banana foster and it was absolutely delicious. Even my husband who hates sweets enjoyed a couple bites.

We were able to make a reservation the day before on a Wednesday, although times were very limited as everything from after 5:30 to 7:45 were taken. Upon arrival we were asked about any special occasions, which we had communicated upon making a reservation. They had notes in the system as well which were communicated to the waitress. We wanted to do a gender reveal through a surprise dessert - the restaurant was more than happy to accommodate and the manager even came by to let us know they were happy to make the reveal special for us. The restaurant has beautiful large windows showcasing the ocean and cliffs. Most all tables in the restaurant have a great view of the ocean. For appetizer we shared the Calamari - I really appreciated that it was a unique twist on such a popular dish being that it had an Asian flair with cashews and other sauce on it. Bread and butter is served at the table as well. For dinner I ordered the prawns which were crab stuffed. It was akin to a mini crab cake on top of a prawn- so good! My husband got a steak that he really enjoyed, with prawns added as an accompaniment. The grand finale was the dessert which was an amazing gender reveal! There was a platter with several mini desserts that said Congratulations and a separate plate that has the gender written in chocolate and covered in powdered sugar. The waitress put a flame to the plate to reveal the gender - it was so unique and special! We can't thank the restaurant enough for putting on this memorable experience for us!
Celebrating bday and just to hang out. Ambiance, shout out to our server Spencer. Provided excellent service, funny, attentive, engaging, friendly. He even noticed how many forks I've used and we only just began with the appetizer. He knew the menu well. Oysterville Spencer's pick, it was a hit, we finished the plate. Fresh chilled oysters yum. Ordered few dishes to share. Everything that we ordered was appetizing, flavorful, beautifully presented and satisfying. Top that off, best seat in the house ( in my humble opinion) Spencer made it all happen. Corner spot, facing a breathtaking view of the water in front of the fire pit . It was a dining experience. From the moment we were seated, Jasmine made our anniversary dinner exceptional. She struck the perfect balance of being professional, engaging, and genuinely personable. Her warm personality, friendly conversation, and thoughtful compliments made us feel so welcome, while her knowledge of the menu and recommendations helped us choose an incredible meal. She was attentive without ever making us feel rushed, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the evening and thoughtfully consider our dining choices. If you're lucky enough to have Jasmine as your server--especially on the rooftop--be sure to stop by and say hello, even if she's busy taking care of both the bar and tables. Grab a drink, enjoy a great conversation, and don't forget to leave her a generous tip. She truly deserves it. Our wonderful experience didn't stop there. Ben, one of the restaurant's partners, stopped by our table to personally check on our dining experience. We couldn't say enough good things about the evening, and he went above and beyond by sending us home with delicious butter cakes to enjoy with our morning coffee. It was such an unexpected and thoughtful gesture. Between Ben, Jasmine, and the entire staff, they made these two lovebirds celebrating our anniversary feel incredibly special. It's those personal touches that transform a great dinner into a truly memorable experience. We were visiting from out of town, but we'll absolutely be back. Special meal for my sisters birthday :) We had a reservation for my family at 7pm on a Friday. We got there early to take pictures on their deck outside overlooking the water!! They valet but we got lucky with street parking. The staff was great and our server was so patient with our big party. We ordered the oysters, crab cakes, ribeye with lobster on the side, and nearly all the sides LOL. I also ordered a glass of their Riesling but they were out so I got a complimentary Sauvignon. Highlights were definitely the ribeye and truffle mac and cheese. Everything was delicious!! I will return again for a special occasion :) read more

I attended a business dinner here. Our party of 11 had reserved a table on a private balcony overseeing La Jolla Shores. The view was breathtaking! For starters, I ordered the Hope Diamond cocktail. It was tasty and looked fancy. Our table ordered the following appetizers to share: - Crab cake - Ahi Tuna tartare - Calamari We ordered the following side dishes to share: - Crab fried rice - Butter poached lobster mashed potatoes - Grilled asparagus - Truffled macaroni and cheese I had a Caesar salad and for my entree, a 10oz center cut filet mignon and 5oz roasted South African lobster with lobster beurre blanc. The filet mignon was nicely seasoned and cooked to my liking. The lobster tail was delicious. We also had a few bottles of Post & Beam Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, the good stuff! This was quite a feast, with plenty of leftovers for everyone! I enjoyed all of the dishes, except for the crab fried rice, which I thought was too buttery. Street parking is very limited. They do offer valet service for $20. For this visit, I took an Uber. read more
We just spent New Year's eve at the La Jolla location (this was our 5th year in a row we love it so much). 4pm reservation at a bar top with four of us. The service is ALWAYS the best, over the top. Friendly, extremely attentive. The drinks are always great. We had an espresso martini and a 'With love, Eddie' which was amazing with our dessert. Oysters are always a must - Misty points were on the menu, AMAZING flavor. Crab cake - hands down the best crab cake anywhere, so much crab, not a ton of breading. Burrata and beet salad - love the variety of beets on the salad. Fresh tasting. We ordered a lobster bucatini pasta. oh my.. some of the most flavorful sauce with generous portions of lobster. The tableside bread always a win. And to top off everything the bananas fosters is always a highlight. We will 100% be spending next NYE here. read more

We had an amazing experience at Eddie V. At La Jolla. Service was superb and professional! They served us so professionally and so proper and with precision. We had 3 guys serving us our first course and champagne. So impressed! Views spectacular! Very warm and casual but elevated because the staff with bow ties . I love that. Elevates it. I really love that there are places that still have that thank you! We had a great experience. Of had the fillet minion and the Mac and cheese. Oh my gosh the Mac and cheese is not plain it has cheese from France so delicious!!! I don't think I've had better! Just so pleased with everything here. Thank you. read more

Perfect spot to celebrate any occasion! The staff made sure each table that had a celebration were decorated with confetti or flower petals to add a festive flare to their fine dining experience. Our table shared the scalloped potatoes. They were very creamy and cheesy. Two people split the filet Oscar. The crab was fresh with large pieces on top. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the seared Ahi was very fresh and flavorful. The highlight was the birthday dessert, a mini bananas foster. Who needs a candle when the dessert is set in a flame. Overall a great first experience for me. We look forward to future celebrations here. read more

This location has stunning views both indoors and on their rooftop. Their food is decent, but nothing to brag about. I got the filet mignon with asparagus and cheesy potatoes as my sides. The filet mignon was drowned and swimming in an excessive amount of butter, and I had difficulty tasting any potatoes under layers of cream and cheese. Very American-cuisine forward. The garden salad was awful. I really don't know how they failed an execution of something so simple. The dressing tasted like pure corn syrup and all the leaves were soggy and wilted. What I couldn't stand was the service. It took 20 minutes just to get drinks, 2 hours to have our entrees served, and another 15 minutes just to get the sides we ordered. Unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. read more
A part of me wants to gate keep this.... but this is for sure the best happy hour in La Jolla. Everyday? 4:00-6:30? 10$ cocktails? 12$ steak tataki and they even have lobster tempura??? Bartenders upstairs are incredible and can adjust any drink to your liking. Highly recommend! read more
Such a gorgeous place to eat, but beyond that the food is just so good. My husband had oysters to start, he said they were phenomenal. 1000/10 experience. I have never walked into a restaurant for the first time and been treated like family and an honored guest simultaneously. They welcomed us in, the manager of the restaurant helped us take photos of the beautiful scenery at golden hour, and then we were greeted with champagne at our table. The food was unbelievable and dessert I can't even describe how incredible it was. Not only did they rescue our night they made it unforgettable. Thank you Shannon, Ben, and especially Margo. I proposed to my bridesmaids last night here at Eddie V's and it was such a beautiful experience!! The staff went above and beyond for us. I was so surprised and excited to see our table so beautifully decorated!! They made us feel so special and made sure we were taken care of. Love this place so much!! We came here for a friend's birthday celebration There were about 12 of us. They got us a table outside with a gorgeous view! They had heated lamps and a fire pit to keep us warm. We ordered a variety of things. The food and drinks were all great. The servers were very attentive and friendly. They had put rose petals on the table and a card that said Happy Birthday. Before the bill came I reminded them that it was a birthday celebration. Good thing I did. They went back and got a dessert plate and wrote happy birthday on it. We all sang to our friend. It was a beautiful evening. We really appreciate the staff making this a special evening for us all. I would definitely go back. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here, especially considering this was meant to be a special day my engagement celebration. We waited over an hour and 15 minutes for our food, which is completely unacceptable. When the dishes finally arrived, everything was cold. The bacon in my salad was literally frozen, and my fiancé's steak was also cold to the touch. At that point, the meal was inedible and completely ruined the experience. What made it worse was the manager's response. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, we were met with attitude when we raised our concerns. Street parking was not easy to find but they do offer valet near the entrance. We did not have a reservation and they did not have seating available in the main dinning area but they did offer upstairs seating for my family. The upstairs view is absolutely gorgeous of La Jolla cove. There was a mix up with our seating arrangements and we had wait about five additional minutes while the host Danni figured out where we were supposed to sit, but she remained apologetic for the mix up. The seating upstairs remained heated and covered. It was nice we got to enjoy the view of the water and stay warm. Our server was Daniel and he was kind and patient throughout our dinner. My daughter spilled her entire glass of water and Daniel immediately removed all of the glassware and bread from the table and replaced the table cloth. He was quick, attentive and very polite. We ordered appetizers and drinks and enjoyed the food. It began to get louder as the evening progressed and our server Daniel became very busy and checked on us less frequently. The service was a bit slow, drinks took a while to make it to the table but other than that everything was great. The crab cake was probably my favorite. read more
My husband and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary back in July here and I'd like to give quite the honest review. First things first, parking: - there's public parking - Street parking which is 2 hours until 6pm then free afterwards. - There's also valet & this night they were charging $20-$25 - Attire business casual Reservation: booked via open table at 6pm for two. On open table you have the option to state a special request. I made them aware of our anniversary by stating: "we're celebrating our anniversary and would love a table that has an amazing view of the ocean. Possibly seaside if any table like that is on the available" Now were we expecting them to deliver? No because I've done this a few times at other restaurants and our special requests are never taken. However, Eddie V's read, listened and delivered. Upon checking in the hostess greeted us with "happy anniversary" took us to our table & long and behold they set the mood right for us. We had a table with a gorgeous view, rose petals scattered across the table, a card hand written with happy anniversary. Thank you Eddie V's for setting such a cute romantic ambiance for us. 10/10 Our server was Kev. He was pretty busy taking care of a few tables including us, but he was always attentive. Always made sure to ask us if we needed anything. Took out empty plates, gave us fresh ones for our next course. Service was 10/10 no complaints. Drinks - HIS: Old Fashion 8/10 - HERS: Margarita 8/10 - 1/2 dzn blueprint oysters 10/10 - spicy tuna in crispy rice 8/10 - iceberg wedge BLY 10/10 - Norwegian salmon 8/10 - 18oz NY strip, 7oz South African lobster tail. Steak 5/10, lobster 10/10. My husband asked for medium rare, but it was medium. He's big on steak. He felt the steak was overcooked & dry. - creamy mashed potato's 10/10 - truffle mac & cheese 7/10 - grilled asparagus 8/10 For dessert: we weren't expecting complimentary dessert courtesy of Kev, but he brought it over after we asked for the dessert menu. When we glanced over the dessert menu Joe was eyeing the bananas foster butter cake & Kev definitely read his mind. Our dessert was 3 tiny portions of the - bananas foster butter cake - 2 chocolate molten cookies - pecan icecream All were delicious. Everything at Eddie V's was exceptionally delicious expect the steak. I'm sure my husband and I will be back again. Definitely recommend this place for a date night. read more
Amazing views ! It just doesn't get any better than this . The lobster rolls were amazing. They also have a happy hour that truly beats every other happy hour in the area ! The best part is that the happy hour also takes place on the rooftop ! Omg ! read more

You probably could. You can do it through Yelp by hitting the "website" tab" for it and that's how I've been making my reservations. Or just go directly to opentable and see if you can do it that way.

There is no dress code as far as I know. Blue denim is ok
Which dining area has the best view of sunset?
Rooftop lounge...by the fire pit is lovely!
