Build your own bag boil, it was delicious! Highly recommend!

We did not initially plan on eating here but so glad we did. The food was delicious. The service was great! It was nice to get away from the crowds and have an ocean view. The prices are reasonable and even have specials on Friday's.

We were looking for a place to eat on thanks giving day and we decided to give this place a try. I was not expecting amazing food like this when I walked in. Their pho broth is not overly sweet, ther ribs they use in the pho soup is delicious. Service is prompt and friendly as well, no complaints. The restaurant located at 2nd floor of a small building, they arrange their tables quite spacious so I don't feel crowded at all.

Friendly and efficient service. The food was very good. We arrived with about 45 minutes left before closing and were welcomed and treated well. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. There's an elevator toward the back making it accessible to all. Definitely glad that we came.

This is our second time here in La Jolla at Crab City. It's very near where my Son and I jog in the afternoons at La Jolla Cove area , so this is a very convenient stop for us when we're craving Seafood. It's just me and my Son this time because my wife doesn't want to go out much during the summer heat. So my Son and I just got their COMBO A, which has Crawfish, Mussels, Manila Clams, Shrimps, Potatoes, Sausages, corn, and i chose the Cajun sauce. I also added the Shrimp spring roll to our order. The Seafood came in good sizes and with Cajun House Special sauce with spice level Mild was delicious, very thick sauce too. The Shrimp spring roll has big shrimps and is good. They have a lot of spaces, I saw the second level and also the third level for seating. Staff are attentive, parking could be hard to find, and side street parking is mostly where I find a space to park.

Crab City La Jolla; an Asian Cajun fusion restaurant. Address 8008 Girard Avenue, San Diego, CA 92037. We stopped by for a quick snack and drink, while admiring the view from the outside dining area. Exceptional view! Great staff, super friendly and fast service. Food came out fresh and hot!!!! We had the fried calamari $16 (10 out of 10!), great portion and you can tell it's fresh calamari. Egg rolls $12 (8 out of 10), super crispy, flavorful and came with great sauces. Fried fish with fries $18, you can choose from catfish or cod (8 out of 10), great flavor although I wish the fish was a bit thicker in portion. Pork banh mi $13 (100 out of 10), let me tell you about this banh mi. I had never tasted pork banh mi with so much flavor and the meat was so tender! It was so darn good. As for the alcohol, stick to draft or can beers, I had a their margarita which was a bust. It was watered down and tasted pre made taste (0 out of 10). Otherwise I will definitely dine here again. Menu is current as of 2025.

Was on the beach and decided to check out a good sea food boil spot so I came across this place and checked it out. The location is very cute as there is two levels to the place . Parking can be a little hard during peak hours since everyone comes here. Luckily we came a little closer to when they closed and got a good parking spot. Now for the food, the prices are what you would expect and the flavor ehhhhh was lacking a little. I was expecting more but I will say they do sorta skimp on how much you get. I get it. Seafood is expensive but would be nice if they threw in a little more. They should throw in a few extra pieces at least from time to time lol The server was great and very helpful with our order. I mean it's pretty straight forward. The overall experience was amazing and the view is amazing.

Crab city's location is great. Right at the La Jolla shore with a very beautiful view of the shore from their outside deck. We happened to visit around the sunset time and it was gorgeous. They serve Vietnamese inspired seafood, which is cooked with Cajun flavors and has plenty of seafood options. Among the restaurants that serve this style of seafood, carb city is so so. We ordered a combo of clams and snow crabs and sweet potato fries. The seafood seemed fresh, but I wish the sauce was better.

Visit 10/19/2025 Came here after church on a lovely San Diego Sunday. We wanted to try something different and decided on Crab City. Located just off of Prospect you will need to climb a little set of stairs and if you're staring at the amazing Pacific you're likely to miss the entry like I did. Thankfully my family was more attentive lol. I think the staff knows this and keep an eye on the stairwell because I had taken two steps up and the host immediately came out and welcome us. Food: Crab City also serves Vietnamese food along with the seafood boils. As such we started off with an order of Goi Cuon (spring rolls) and Goi Cuon Thit (summer rolls). Both were well done though Brodard's is still the standard for the Goi Cuon Thit for our family. For the boils we did a build your own. One was headless shrimp, garlic butter, mild spice. The other was headless shrimp, house sauce, and medium spice. Look, I know enough that some of you are rolling your eyes wondering why we did "headless" and "peeled." When I've done boils, I do enjoy sucking the heads and I'm not adverse to peeling except when we're all in our Sunday best, two in white, and actually on a clock as one daughter needed to be out for her work shift and so we needed to cut out some of the work. We added corn, potato, and sausage. I stuck with the house sauce bag and I liked it but I agree with my daughter, who loves her spice, that "medium" could have been kicked up a notch. She does a lot of seafood boils and pointed out that Crab City must be using Fanta or OJ because she could taste the citrus and that might have contributed to a sweet taste. I think next time we'd go "hot". We also got a side of garlic noodles. Al dente and definitely garlicky. In hindsight we probably should have ordered some rice (they have white and garlic). I got a Vietnamese coffee which was strong and got me through the rest of the day. Service: Friendly and attentive which may not be saying much as there were only two tables but the dining room is actually on the third floor and the kitchen is on the second. So it does say a lot that they kept taking the time to check on us which I appreciate. Ambiance: If you're at a window seat you get a partial view of the Pacific and can people watch below. The patio dining on the second floor seemed better angled if you want to have an ocean view. Like other seafood boils, they throw down butcher paper for the table and the place is simply decorated with a massive "Let's get dirty" sign letting you know you're in the wrong place if you're looking for elegant fine dining. Would come back again when I'm in the area.

My family loved Crab City in La Jolla. It is a Vietnamese Cajun restaurant offering authentic pho and rice plates, but they also had seafood boils with a variety of options including shrimp, crawfish, crab. Most of my family members ordered rice plates and loved it. I ordered the pho tai which is always great on a breezy day. We were seated immediately at the porch with a beautiful view. I would recommend this place and we would come back if around the area!!

Ordered via ubereats and food came piping hot, delicious, well packaged, and super fresh. The food quality and taste both exceeded my expectations. I ordered "spicy" shrimp head on with corn and potatoes with jasmine rice. For the spice level, I'd give it a good 8.5/10 spicy for me, which meant I took a few breaks for my lips to extinguish. So if you're not a spice lover, level down. It is such a treat to have this in the middle of downtown La Jolla. I feel so lucky. I grew up in Orange County where Boiling Crab is just around the corner, and it's so fun to eat with your family and friends. Having Crab City nearby is exciting. I had a chance to speak with a worker, and they were very friendly. I can tell as a new business they are on top of their service. I am looking forward to bringing my family here to dine-in soon.

I went on a Sunday afternoon to the La Jolla location. Headsup, if you have trouble walking stairs maybe find another location. The service was great, quick and it didn't take long for the food to come out. I got the snow crab boil at MP price of $38 and with the house sauce spicy. I really liked the taste. I could taste the sauce on the actual meat. It's not your traditional red Cajun crab boil sauce but it was good.

I ate the eggs and fats of this crab before remembering to take a pic ;) Extra $50 for this added crab .Market Price of the day

It was so flavorful and really made the seafood even better. I also loved that you can choose your own spice level, so you can customize it depending on how much heat you can handle. We definitely appreciated having that option! Another dish we really enjoyed was the crab rangoon. These were so good because they actually use real crab, which made them taste even better and feel a little more elevated than your typical crab rangoon. I would definitely recommend ordering these as an appetizer! We also tried the garlic noodles. They were good and paired nicely with the seafood, but I do think they could use a little more flavor to really stand out. That was probably the one thing we felt could be improved. I tried this place this past weekend at Del Mar's Taste of New Orleans festival and they were there operating under the name The Gumbo Pot. I saw they had a line and they were one of the more moderately priced food options so I gave it a try. I should've KNOWN it was going to be all bad when I asked for some Tony Cacheres and the girl behind the counter (I'm assuming is the daughter) said "I don't know what that is" and the older lady behind the counter (who I'm assuming is the mother) pointed at some packets of Crystal and Louisiana hot sauce like that was supposed to be a good consolation or something. If you have to add hot sauce to it then it ain't cooked right. Anyways, I ordered the 3 item plate with jambalaya, shrimp étouffée, and gumbo for $20, and let me say this is the MOST disgusting gumbo and étouffée I have EVER had in my life. The jambalaya was the only thing I could force down. The gumbo LITERALLY tasted like canned soup and the roux was a little light-skinned (if you know you know) and runny and watery. Then they didn't cook the okra right because it was slimy. There was no kick to it (gumbo is supposed to have hella flavor) and it was super bland. Just inedible. Don't let me get on that unflavored mash-up they called étouffée. Although the shrimp were a nice size, but they were rubbery and they had a fishy taste to them, which means they weren't fresh and again, NO flavor. The ONLY thing I could force down was the jambalaya and even that was too runny for jambalaya. It had nice chunks of chicken and sausage, but no flavor. I don't know how you can call yourself cooking Creole food and it's all bland and flavorless. I don't usually do this, but I took the uneaten étouffée and gumbo back for a 50% refund. I should've asked for ALL of my money back. The ONLY commonality between all of these things is NO flavor! The people in line thinking this inedible crap is good and authentic Creole food have obviously never been to Louisiana nor eaten food cooked by people from Louisiana. UPDATE TO RICHARD T.'S RESPONSE: Apparently you can't read because I SPECIFICALLY said "I tried this place this past weekend at Del Mar's Taste of New Orleans festival and they were there operating under the name The Gumbo Pot." Too Clearly you can't read OR cook. Vendetta for what? I don't know you but what I do KNOW is you were coming with feminine argumentative energy you displayed at the event. I could tell EXACTLY who you were when another customer was telling you what they wanted and you told your daughter "Don't let the customer tell you what they want, you tell them what they want." If you had so much to say why didn't you say it when I came to return that slop? You knew better. You're lucky I just didn't dispute the entire transaction with my credit card company instead of being nice and making your wife only give me back $10. You don't get to dictate HOW I spend my money sir nor do you get to tell me I should just let you take my money by thinking I should pay for something that I'm just going to throw in the trash. I knew I should've listened to dude at the BBQ booth when he told me not to eat here. Keep lying though saying I ate half the food (I took a pic for my records because I could tell by your energy and KNEW you would come on here and lie once you got your manties in a bunch about the review) you'll find yourself in court for libel. Nobody was trying to get a free meal hence why I brought that dog food back to you guys. Nobody cares how long you've been in business. I know people that have been rappin' for 30 years and ain't good so that means NOTHING! Then you go on to say that "a black woman trying to criticize and belittle a black owned business makes it even more shameful and disgraceful. Uplift, support and positive are obviously not words in this person's vocabulary, and definitely not values that were ever passed to her. Do better!" Maybe YOU should do better and learn how to cook. Just because Big Mama knew how to cook and maybe you watched her in the kitchen when you were a kid doesn't mean you know how to cook. That's the problem with so-called Black businesses (FYI it's technically not even a Black business because your wife isn't even Black by the way.) They think they should get a pass for bad service and bad food and then play victim. Just accept it and stop trying to pull the race card. It's a pathetic defense to your disgusting subpar food. READ YOUR REVIEWS! PLENTY OF PEOPLE SAID YOUR FOOD IS BLAND AND NOT GOOD! It's not just me. Being "Black" has nothing to do with anything and it's sad that YOUR parents didn't teach you how to accept responsibility and take criticism instead of trying to pull the race card. It's really sad for a senior citizen to act like this because somebody gave an honest review of your bland gross food.
