    Mini roll trio
    Denise V.

Such a good spot! We got the Mini Roll Trio and it was so good. The crab and lobster rolls were definitely our favorites. We also ordered the clam chowder, and wow... it was amazing! The flavor was delicious and the texture was perfect. The customer service was just as great as the food. Neo went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and really took care of us. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in La Jolla!

$30 for a lobster grilled cheese roll--I don't even know how much lobster was in it; you'd need a microscope to see it. It's really ridiculous--and I waited almost 30 minutes for it, even though the place was practically empty. That's really funny--they just took your money. If I could give a rating lower than 1, I'd gladly do it--it's awful.

The lobster was fresh and tasted really good, so no complaints about the quality. The lobster roll had a generous amount of meat and was definitely enjoyable. That said, I think the price is quite high for what you get. The place itself is very casual and simple, so considering the overall experience, the pricing feels a bit overpriced to me.

Cute little place at the corner. Love the service and the buns are buttery and crispy. I had lobster roll and the crab roll. Both of them are fresh and delicious! Don't miss the boss sauce! Best $1 I ever spent!

Lobster Roll Boss with Lobster Bisque Combo

Been a while since I did a review for our $50 eating out (dinner or lunch date) for two and maybe the $50 is way too low now a days to get a decent meal for two. So tell me if I should increase our date budget to $75. Our total billed for 2 combo meal ((classic and boss) lobster and a soup is $68. Way over our $50 dinner date budget but I will not include pricing for this review. I give this 5 star for the taste and freshness of the lobster roll. The fried bread is not oily and the crunch is just right. Tastes just like the lobster roll from the east coast. The Clam Chowder and the Lobster Bisque were both tasty and matched well with the Lobster Roll. Great place to try in La Jolla.

Stopped by for a scrumptious lobster roll. Since we don't get lobster rolls often, we opted for the Boss, which comes with 4.5 oz of meat (vs 3 oz for the Classic. We also got the flight of all 3 soups, which is served in Scoop sizes. Overall the food was delish. Lobster rolls was legit. The meat was fresh and plump. The brioche is done just like in Maine. We liked the chowder and the bisque but the crab soup was our least favorite. The service was courteous and prompt. We'd definitely come back next time we're in town and in the mood for some lobster!

Best lobster roll and love the scoop of soups that come with it!! My personal favorite is the chowder

Actually found this place on Yelp after wanting to try a lobster roll close to home. The space itself is clean, casual, and has that beachy, laid back vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful, even during a bit of a rush. Only downfall was that I had to stand and wait for a table to open up for a while, even with people sitting at tables that weren't dining there, they were just waiting for their food to go. The lobster itself tasted fresh and buttery, and you definitely get that rich, satisfying flavor you're hoping for. The bread was soft with a nice toast on it, which pulled everything together. That being said...for the price, I was expecting just a little more. The portion felt a bit on the lighter side, and I found myself wishing there was more lobster packed in there. Still, it hit the spot and I'd come back when I'm craving a good lobster roll without having to go somewhere super fancy or far. Overall: good food, nice vibe, just slightly pricey for what you get. But then again it's lobster and crab so expect to spend a little.

    Lobster Roll with Lobster Bisque

The food here was amazing. Definitely one of the best lobster roll spots in San Diego. The lobster bisque was exquisite. Staff is nice. Service was quick and efficient.

Drove over here for the lobster rolls and they did not disappoint. And the soup was just as delicious! And don't get us started on the lobster mac n cheese. So good!

    Chowder flight
    Chloe Y.

Loved the mom and pop shops feel of this restaurant. The flight of soup was wonderful to try all the varieties if you can't decide. The classic clam chowder is our favorite however all the soups had their fun flair. Thier soups are different from the other chowder joints. We enjoyed the uniqueness of each soup. The lobster roll was also bomb. Do try to stop by if you are in the area.

Crab rolls, we split the combo sides

Our first stop in Coronado was at Lobster west and it definitely satisfied my craving. I got a crab roll with chips and slaw on the side. Make sure you get a side of their lemon tarragon aioli on the side! Our food came out very quick and staff was friendly. Love the beachy vibe. The only thing I would change is to maybe make it easier to order sides. I just would like one side but you have to choose two for an extra charge. (Bonus points because I saw the staff constantly checking food temps and cleaning)

But, I decided on a 5 because, in the more than 30 years that I have been dining at the Brockton Villa, I've never had a bad meal, nor a marginal one, they've all been spot on. It's easy to enjoy the perch on the side of the hill, with an immediate view of the Cove and the further views of the Shores, Glider Port and on a clear day, Torrey Pines. What comes with that view, is the smell of nature, and on Tuesday, it was stronger. It didn't interfere with our meal. The wait staff are all friendly, experienced, and approach the table appropriately. I can't relate to a setting where the server is there every couple of minutes. I tend to eat there more for breakfast and lunch, dinners less commonly. The menu is diverse enough for 2 picky eaters to always find something fantastic. On Tuesday, I had the clam and crab chowder and it was superb. I grew up in New England, the epicenter of chowders. I am known amongst friends, for the many chowders that I make at home. The salmon BLT is a recurrent favorite, as is the basic breakfast, tweaked to your preferences, with a wide array of protein options. The family was pretty excited to try this place out and by the end of the meal, every single member of my family (all 5 people) were angry. The service was horrific. We came during lunch, they were not particularly busy and we were seated within 5 minutes. Let's start with the food. I ordered a $25 Wagyu burger and it was unseasoned. Not under seasoned, UNSEASONED. The patty was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and it was well done to a point where it was not even remotely enjoyable. This $25 burger did not come with fries, it came with a very small bowl of salad that had no salad dressing. The wrap my wife ordered was mediocre and lacking any flavor. The shrimp inside was good but everything else was bland. The one thing that was good was the seafood chowder. It was excellent. Very flavorful and rich. The best tasting thing at our table were the children's tater tots and the clam chowder to be very honest. Now onto the service. The service is arguably worse than the food. The waiter looked annoyed to take our order but what is egregiously worse than that is that in our entire time sitting there eating our food for more than 45 minutes, our server (or any member of the wait staff) literally did NOT come back once to check on us or ask us if the dishes were good or to give anyone water refills (we ordered a coke and that was not refilled the entire meal). I want to reiterate, we literally did not get a refill of our waters or the coke we ordered 1 time the entire meal. Our waters were empty 10 minutes into the food arriving but because no member of the wait staff came by to check on us, we resorted to drinking out the water bottles we brought ourselves. We tried to flag down a member of the wait staff 3 times and after, my wife just said 'let's just try to get out of here as soon as possible. This is ridiculous'. I also want to be clear, we were not in a separate room or in the corner, the door of the restaurant was visible, the bar where they serve alcohol was visible from our table. The wait staff just chose not to check on us and ignore our hands in the air trying to flag them down. They came after more than an hour to drop off the check without saying anything to us or ask about how the food was. We were so angry by that point we did not even bother to ask for a refill of water or coke. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
