Stopped by for a scrumptious lobster roll. Since we don't get lobster rolls often, we opted for the Boss, which comes with 4.5 oz of meat (vs 3 oz for the Classic. We also got the flight of all 3 soups, which is served in Scoop sizes. Overall the food was delish. Lobster rolls was legit. The meat was fresh and plump. The brioche is done just like in Maine. We liked the chowder and the bisque but the crab soup was our least favorite. The service was courteous and prompt. The classic clam chowder is our favorite however all the soups had their fun flair. Thier soups are different from the other chowder joints. We enjoyed the uniqueness of each soup. Actually found this place on Yelp after wanting to try a lobster roll close to home. The space itself is clean, casual, and has that beachy, laid back vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful, even during a bit of a rush. Only downfall was that I had to stand and wait for a table to open up for a while, even with people sitting at tables that weren't dining there, they were just waiting for their food to go. The lobster itself tasted fresh and buttery, and you definitely get that rich, satisfying flavor you're hoping for. The bread was soft with a nice toast on it, which pulled everything together. That being said...for the price, I was expecting just a little more. The portion felt a bit on the lighter side, and I found myself wishing there was more lobster packed in there. Still, it hit the spot and I'd come back when I'm craving a good lobster roll without having to go somewhere super fancy or far. Overall: good food, nice vibe, just slightly pricey for what you get. Our first stop in Coronado was at Lobster west and it definitely satisfied my craving. I got a crab roll with chips and slaw on the side. Make sure you get a side of their lemon tarragon aioli on the side! Our food came out very quick and staff was friendly. Love the beachy vibe. The only thing I would change is to maybe make it easier to order sides. I just would like one side but you have to choose two for an extra charge. We went pretty close to opening, but the staff was welcoming and tended to us right away. After we ordered, it didn't take too long for the food to come out. - FOOD - Soup Trio: We wanted to get a taste of all their soups, so we opted to get the trio. I personally liked the Clam Chowder the most, then the Lobster Bisque, and then the Maryland Crab Soup. They were all delicious though! Maine Event: Similar to the soups, we also wanted to try all of the rolls. My order of preference was the Lobster Roll, then the Crab Roll, then the Shrimp Roll. I do think we could have gotten more meat on each of the rolls, but they were still good. It really feels like a cute little hidden gem, and the staff was very kind and welcoming. Pro tip: if you cross the street and use the stairs to go up you can catch this sunset view ;) The only area for improvement would be the bathroom. We stopped at this lobster spot in La Jolla with a big group, looking for a fun little snack, and decided to try their sampler which came with a lobster roll, crab roll, and shrimp roll. We also ordered the clam chowder and lobster bisque. Overall, everything was good, but I can't say it was the best. The lobster roll was decent, but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The lobster bisque was a bit disappointing since it didn't have any lobster pieces and felt a little chunky. The clam chowder lacked flavor for me, especially since I've had a lot of really great clam chowders before. That said, the rolls were lacking, however the aïoli they offered was a nice touch, we ended up using it on our bread since I felt the rolls could've used more butter and lemon or some flavor. The restaurant itself was clean and offered free water, which was a plus. They had outdoor seating both in front and along the side of the restaurant, which was great for our big group, and there was even a restroom inside, something super convenient in that area since bathrooms are hard to find when walking around. Customer service was excellent. The girls who took our orders were very friendly and helpful, so no complaints there at all. For me, it just came down to the flavors... I was hoping for a little more richness, especially in the bisque and chowder. All in all, a nice stop with good service and a clean setup, but flavor-wise, I've had better seafood spots read more
