So I enjoy La Costa's food. I enjoy the way the restaurant looks and feels. It feels like I'm outdoors with great music playing around me. I have now ordered the vegetarian burrito a few times. I used to love it in the beginning. The past three times I have ordered it I have always managed to find chicken in there. I've had chicken in the past but shredded chicken makes me gag. First time coming to this specific location. It was pretty busy at around 8:30pm, but the service was very quick. We ordered two #10 taco plates which came with three tacos each, rice, and beans. The carne asada tacos were slightly bland and oily. I didn't like the fact that the cilantro and onions are pre mixed so if you don't like cilantro you can't get onions on your tacos. The rice and beans also didn't have the authentic flavor I was looking forward too. I had a shrimp burrito and everything was like over cooked the shrimp tasted as they had been cooked sitting in a pot all day almost like mushy I ended up throwing it away before we left. My go to restaurant. I usually get the carne asada tacos which are always delicious. On occasion I'll order enchiladas, shrimp cocktail, shrimp tostadas or the carne asada burrito. My kids order off the kids menu and usually get the bean burritos. I've never been unhappy with anything I've gotten here, it's always great. They have a salsa bar so I could help myself to any of the salsas, radish, onions, peppers, limes that I want. This location out also has beer which is always good with tacos. So hungry after a long cold day of fishing all I can think of is some ramen or noodle of some sorts. However being in a town where I don't visit a lot I want to somewhere I'm familiar. First time I came here I had a good experience so I told myself if I was in town again I'd be back and here I am. It's 1:30pm on a Sunday and I walk in and it's not too crowded nor empty. I placed my order for a burrito and two tacos. Paid and got my number and proceeded to the fresh salsa bar to get my goodies. I'm not even near halfway through fixing my salsa and my food is already being called. I'm like what the heck? That was like super fast. Picked up my food and went outside to the Parking lot to eat because our boat and fishing equipment is exposed and didn't want to get it stolen. The burrito is huge and very filling although I would have to say that there wasn't enough meat inside. The flavor is good and not too salty. Tacos on the other hand was exceptionally great, with plenty of meat and with all the salsa I was in heaven. I mean the deciding factor for a taqueria is the salsa/hot sauce bar. If you don't have one then it's gonna be tough to like the place. I forgot to mention the service is also great but the only thing is parking can be hard to find. Awesome! We drove to Dutch then another 5 minutes down the road to visit this gem. So its about 15-20 minutes from our house, I'd drive 20 minutes more for the quality of the taste of the Burrito we recieved. Thank you Yelpers for the reviews from this place. La Costa Taqueria is definitely one of the better burritos we have tasted in Contra Costa County. Social distancing with the customers inside was No Issue. They know what they are doing because everything was moving so efficiently, We ordered 2 Carne Asada Burritos , couple sides of chips and a pint of Salsa. Perfect taste on the burrito and the size of their burritos are bigger than some super burritos at other places. We got our food about 5 minutes after ordering. Love, love, love La Costa! I rarely find myself in this area. But when I do, I HAVE to stop by and gave some tacos. My go-to order? 12 tacos for $20. All carnitas. And let me tell you... it's delicious! The carnitas is fatty, juicy, and crunchy. It's seasoned perfectly and goes well with onions and cilantro. I'm not a red salsa type of girl so I always put salsa verde on my tacos. It has a slight kick but nothing I would particularly consider spicy. Follow up with some pickled jalapeños and you have yourself a fantastic meal! Parking is abundant. The service is fast. They wear masks and gloves. Hand sanitizer is provided. I felt safe and they pass out orders real quick. So I don't spend more than 15 minutes in there. My sister loves their burritos. So if you get a chance to try them out and aren't in the mood for 12 tacos, definitely try their burritos. I also enjoyed their shrimp quesadilla. read more

Word on the streets is this place started as a walk up window where you ordered delicious Mexican food and ate in your car or right outside the window like a taco truck. Now this place is massive and runs like a well oiled machine. First things first the menu is huge but separated into your essential items. Tacos, enchiladas, Burritos, seafood and Beverages. I went for 4 tacos a la carte. 2 Carne Asada, 2 Pastor with everything. I love an authentic taco with diced onions, cilantro and plenty of salsa. To wash it down? A Modelo Negro of course. Within 7 mins my number was called. My tacos looked perfect, no need to hit the long line at the salsa bar (about 7 people long at this time). I took a table near the window with sunlight gushing through. My lunch companions received their orders, a Wet Carne Burrito and an Enchilada plate. Everyone's food was piping hot and despite the high volume of orders the restaurant had to make everything looked well made. I bit my first Carne Taco. Delish. The orange colored salsa or taco sauce they used balanced well with the tender meat. I was quite satisfied. The Pastor was just as good if not better because Pastor tends to be a lot more full of flavor than the Carne. I'm still dreaming of these tacos. Service was friendly and courteous, but these people know how to move the line. At one point orders were piling up on the pass out station, so an employee began to call orders in a auction type fashion and soon enough those orders were out and new plates were ready. The location is tucked in a nice plaza next to Mr. Pickles and Grocery Outlet. The interior was clean, the exterior was inviting. Outdoor seating looked comfortable with umbrellas for shade. Good "go to" Mexican food. The menu in Oakley has more than the Brentwood location. I usually get carne asada quesadilla or super nachos. My wife usually goes for chicken tacos with a beef thrown in on occasion. I hear the seafood is good but not my bag. The burritos are basic and tasty but nothing special. The location is on Main Street and is relaxing. I drive to Oakley as an excuse to take my 38 Chev out for a spin. Lots of new homes popping up in Oakley too as well as restaurants. Everyone raves about La Costa and I just don't see it. The flavor isn't there and more than half the time the meat is so dry. We just recently ordered to go with 3 large burritos and a meat quesadilla omg with kids food. I wouldn't classify the meat quesadilla at what it is, it was really just a large taco which was very confusing. The large burritos meat was so dry that no one really ate it. Ended up feeding my chickens everything, they got a big dinner for sure. I wouldn't eat here it's basically for animals. read more
