La Costa always has the freshest food. I was a big fan of the La Costa in my Oakland hometown and glad to say this one is just as good. I ordered a Asada burrito and it was just as fresh and loaded with meat. I had a Carnitas and Lengua taco which were just as delicious as well. I still miss my greasier tacos and burritos from the Oakland taco trucks at times. But La Costa is as close to home as I've been able to get here in Tracy. Only wish they had soda cans like the Oakland location. I'm not too fond of the fountain drinks, and also prefer Coke with my burrito. read more

La Costa restaurant has a very good spot for you to sit down and eat outside very relaxing to enjoy your food (: I got a LG horchata and a super burrito for only $8.50 !!! Very inexpensive!!! I used to love it here but I always have an issue with my order these days. I went in and ordered pastor tacos with no onions, I received asada tacos with not only no onion but no cilantro either. I lived in Tracy 25 years and went to high school across the street from this amazing taco spot. In the est. 15 years this place has been open, it is one of my favorite spots and hasn't changed. Every time I go home to visit I have to stop here for their delicious tacos. Such a great deal at $1.50 a piece although I remember years ago when they were $1 and a burrito was $3. S.O. and I needed food asap... since I researched this place the night before... we headed out here before going back home... It was after 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon and the parking lot was still packed... S.O. ordered a carnitas burrito with cheese quesadilla (at first bite, he wasn't such a fan but half-way through... he said that it is a GOOD burrito indeed...) I ordered a steak asada burrito plus a chicken quesadilla (that I didn't end up eating... gave it to the S.O....) but the burrito itself was good... steak was juicy... nicely seasoned and it was the perfect size. I inhaled it... It definitely answered the hunger... When I first moved to Tracy the burritos were 5$ and awesome. Now they are $8 and still solid. I guess that is inflation for you. All I ever get is the burritos so that is all I know. If you want a good burrito you really can't go wrong here. read more

They still pack their burrito, quesadilla, torta, and taco with plenty of well-marinated meat but that's about it. Great traditional Mexican fast food! Most people come here for their burritos but I've always loved their Quesadillas! They come with cheese, meat, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. It's big, it's messy, it's delicious. My favorite is the Carnitas Quesadilla. They have a decent selection here including Burritos, Quesadillas, Tacos, Tostadas & Tortas and various seafood items. Everything is sold a la carte. The prices have gone up over the years, but the food is still reasonably priced for what you get. All the food is good here but based on some bad reviews I've seen, I think some people come here with the wrong expectations. La Costa is currently one of the top rated Yelp food spots in Tracy and they deserve all the great ratings but I think people expect a sit down restaurant or a Taqueria. La Costa is more street food style - you order at a small window and the majority of the seating is outdoor. Come here with the right expectations and you will not be disappointed! I've long since left the Bay Area for my hometown of Seattle, but I still salavate thinking of La Costa's version of a carne asada! SO GOOD. Quick, cheap and the lime gives it a perfect touch. The rice is perfect with the cheese, sour cream, and salsa. DELISH. In 1999, it was $2.50. Last year, it was $3.50. You can't beat it! I haven't found a Mexican taqueria in Seattle that I love - yet! The worst experience ever, I always love the food and service here but today it was terrible. I ordered my food without issue but when my number was called the young gentleman at the window slams my food down in front of me. When I asked for extra lemon and salsa he looked irritated, he hands me 3 lemons in a big piece of foil and only one salsa container for 2 burritos. I give the guy a tip and he grabs the tip and throws it to the other side of the counter. It may look small from the outside but its what's happening inside is what really matters :) The food here is as close to authentic as you get.
