I am so happy that LA Crawfish decided to come to SA!! Ever since I discovered this gem, I have been coming here on a regular basis! Everything I have tried on their menu is nothing short of amazing! I have tried all of their specialty pho's (crawfish pho, hot & sour, spicy beef, pho sate) and all I have to say is WOW! The flavors were like tasteful explosions in my mouth! Their specialty would definitely be their boiled seafood, from crawfish, shrimp, all different types of crabs and crab legs! I have tried their garlic butter and Cajun flavors and they are perfection! The crawfish empanadas were alright, but maybe they are just not my thing. Love the crab legs and sides. Chicken is good. Like that it's byob. Wouldn't consider their gumbo anything like you'd expect New Orleans wise. Deff better gumbo places in San Antonio. Like that's it's byob. Lines can be long and you can't make reservations. read more

The food is ok but too pricey. The staff leaves much to be desired I have had more than one not so stellar experience and that made me realize I just shouldn't eat there. I hate spending my money in a place with rude or inattentive people. My order was messed up at no fault of my own and they refused to provide a refund or fix the order. Place is big and roomy. Busy, but wait time was decent. Food was hot and good. Counter service was friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable. Crawfish was avg size. Went to la crawfish with the pops the other day. He had been wanting to try the place and I love crawfish so it was an easy decision. The place is big, with bench style seating. Their menu is simple with several different po boys, a couple different phos and noodle dishes, some various sides, and of course crawfish! He ordered the garlic crawfish noodles, I got the crawfish pho, and we shared a lb of garlic crawfish to split. They have 3 different style to coat them in; garlic, Cajun, and hot n spicy.While we waited, I remarked it seemed strange to have no paper down for the mess of crawfish, and I later learned that there is a self help condiment bar complete with paper to "help yourself." I always find this strange as I believe that is the restaurants service to help you, it would be equally as strange if you were to order your food and then prepare the food YOURSELF. but I digress, I went and got the wax paper, hoisin, siracha, and limes. The cashier brought us out the food, which I later learned we the customer are supposed to go to the counter and pick up, again I find strange. The pho I had was delicious, the broth was amazing, not alot of the protein I hoped for, but understandably so, it did only run 8$, my pops garlic noodles were bland in terms of seasoning other then the garlic which was overpowering, and again short on protein, and the "star of the show," the mudbugs, crawfish, Louisiana lobster. I never thought to think that it was out of season until we were waiting, then the light bulb came on when the crawfish hit the table. They were small and undersized and had a slight fishy taste to them, leading me to guess frozen. Oh well I should have known. So we finish our meal, me more satisfied then my pops and we leave. he says he was gonna post on yelp about it. Later on in the day he sends me a message saying to read it and he got a message from ownership regarding some of the things he posted, which is cool to me they are explaining there concepts, but one thing stuck out in my mind, the lack of service they actually provide, and one thing in particular we were supposed to bus our own table. Just about any other fast casual restaurant provides this level of service and above. So if you're saying you're doing something better and different then what is around.. Do not waste your time or money. Everything's deep fried and extremely over seasoned. BBQ Shrimp was deep fried and still contained the heads and tails and shells. Once you pealed everything off you had a small dried out piece of meat. Nothing is steamed as pictured. Even the soda tasted weird. We were so disappointed. Waited for the place to open for weeks. We always order the boiling shrimp,French fries,and crab legs. We like the experience of how you have to peel it although in the end you get kind of messy but it's super worth it.The staff is nice and there's a lot of sauces that are dellllllliiiiiiccccciiiiioooouuusss. Mediocre food, horrible service. My friends and I came and our food took an hour to come out. One of my friends food came out 45 minutes after everyone else was done. It was the wrong food and when we complained they said that there wasn't any difference between the two meals except the one that she ordered was on bread. When we asked how we could be accommodated for our experience they told us they could give her a 10% discount. They then brought her 86cents to our table. Her real food never came out and they told her next time she came they would give her another 10% discount. I asked if there was any way they could accommodate is for this horrible experience and they said no, they're brand new so this kind of service is to be expected. I asked to speak with a manager after the employee kept running back and forth to relay our messages, but the manager said she was too busy. Needless to say, worst dining experience ever. I first tried LA crawfish last summer in Houston. This place was packed! I wanted a spot to sit and eat seafood with friends. I was pleased to find a easy to read menu with flavors and even happier to have options of sides to eat with adorable and decent sized seafood items. Since they opened a store in San Antonio last year, I literally visit once per week and they know me by name. I order over the phone and walk in, walk right to the front counter and get my meal. When I feel like eating in store, there is always an empty table. The waitresses and waiters bring your dishes to you and are quick to get you what you need while you're in the middle of a meal. I truly appreciate being able to eat a dessert after my meal and they have amazing beignets. It helps that the owner is a Louisiana native because the food is well seasoned. I just love this place. Eat in or take it out, you will not be disappointed. All of their locations are BYOB as well, which is amazing if you don't want to drink soda and water. Stop in and try it for yourself. read more

I can't comment on other food but I am a Louisiana Cajun that grew up on crawfish. I have never seen such small crawfish served to the public not to mention they were over cooked and mushy a sign that they were dead before they were boiled. my opinion it was a total waste of money. read more

I just moved to town a week ago....from South Louisiana, where i was born and raised. Crawfish is not something new to me. I know what it should taste like, look like and how it should taste. Having said that.....disappointment does not begin to describe my experience at this place. Beginning with the name....LA Crawfish. Nowhere in my lifetime as a native of Louisiana have i ever had Vietnamese food on the same menu as crawfish and have it "passed" off as "cajun". This place and any of its chain/franchise buddies would be laughed out of Cajun country. This place is claiming the name only, in no way would this place make it there. The crawfish were so small. Bait, is what these should have been used for. This place is not set up properly for boiled crawfish. At all. They were dirty. They had not been purged, at all. I will not recommend this place to anybody. I have seen several rave reviews and wonder exactly what place those reviews are for because that is definitely not the place i visited. The staff in my opinion were very indifferent. The bathrooms were not supplied with paper towels to wash your hands and the small pitiful napkins that were out front were a joke. Again, i will not waste my time with this place again, hope nobody else does either. read more

Very disappointed. Crawfish was small and the flavors tasted the same. They need to clean there boil pots cause the water was real dirty. Also don't fall for the "10% off entire order" because that's not happening. Spent $60 and only got $2.15 off the order. Should have been about $6 off but these businesses use the new math for discounts. Sorry but I won't go back. Kinda expensive also. $7.49 lb. and that doesn't include potato or corn. read more

Not the best... I can overlook slow service, but not mediocre food. The surf and surf poor boy ( oyster and shrimp) was mostly breaking with lack of flavor. The shrimp basket was the same, fries might have been good if they were not cold. My order was take out and my order sat on the counter while the 1 person taking orders was busy with a long line of customers. When I asked 7 minutes after my order say on the counter ( on a bag) if that was my order the employee shortly told me to wait a moment. ( I did not interrupt another customer ordering to ask). So why are the floors disgusting. Please clean up your restaurant and when a customer is considerate enough to bring to your attention a potential fall prevention due to a wet spot please due more than blow them off. It is customary to greet all customers and ask how you can assit them,whether it's you who actually cleans the mess. Hear it and find someone to take care of it. As expensive as it was and it didnt include the staples to a crawfish boil. That's not cool. Then my sad surf and turf 4 pieces of oysters&shrimp. For $7.99 and no drink. Thats highway robbery. We tried it . It was okay. For those prices I will stick to Pappadeux. And for the less expensive route HEB crawfish boil is pretty darn good. read more

Order for a take out tried to call 30 mins ahead but nobody answer the phone , waited in line for 20 mins to order , was told it will take 15 to 20 minute, but being waiting over 40 mins and still haven't got the food yet. So we're here for over 1 hour and have seen our order. Really just want to leave and ask for a refund . Never recommend anyone to come here again read more

Just left. Unfortunately, we weren't fans of this establishment. The fried basket of shrimp and tilapia was overdone, the tilapia resembled jerky. My son ordered the spicy garlic which were good at first, but when they cooled down they lost their flavor and were oily. I ordered the pho and it was pretty good. All in all, I can't see us returning. It was nice to venture out to try something new, but this place was missing the WOW factor that would have us coming back for more. read more

I order a oyster and shrimp poor boy today for lunch and it was oddly filled with french fries and very little oysters and shrimp. This was after I wanted to try a verity of different items on the menu but problem was they won't allow you to buy by the half pound. First time eating here food had great flavor but next time I will ask if I can order without the fries. I want to return to try the shrimp, crab legs and crawfish. Nice set up and friendly staff. LaCrawfish is not the spot for Cajun or Seafood lovers. The wait times and service was horrible. My blue crab barbecue was burnt not "overcooked"! They have a no refund policy that is a joke when I pay you for a service and you burn my food! The cooks are amateurs and have no business in this genre of food. Sorry just venting. read more
